Finding out it's all connected is like unlocking the secret elixir or something we can all totally feel you on needing to read everything all over again from there. That interconnected aspect is SO what makes these so awesome too. Everything new gives so much more context to everything old it is so awesome to look for those connections! 6. You got me! I realized as I went to post that with all the Ookla names the @s didn't quite work. I was looking at changing it today to fit but honestly they just worked too well as is. So although some aren't quite pinged right hope you guys enjoy!
  7. Waitttt... are you telling me girls don't have random contests of who can write tree the most times in a row?? I never knew we were this different... Oh and:
  8. That sounds like the way to do it without bringing on insanity. I mean if you wrote them all out it would be slightly more impressive but, we'll give you a pass
  9. Yes actually precisely 8,000 surprisingly. Nicely done!
  10. Absolutely! Ooh awesome favorite, I would think I have to agree with you there Something about the scope of the characters and the sheer magnitude of the story is just awesome. Hope you enjoy the Shard!
  11. Ooh really cool sorta criteria there I like that! Yeah, fantasy is generally another world in another place where just everything is new and fitting with the story. Sci-Fi tends to go more with our real world and what can or perhaps will happen. I totally agree though when you create the world to match your story you can be way more creative and interesting! Hmm ok interesting then, huh. Yeah I've definitely heard the Kingkiller one's being pretty good, haven't quite gotten around to it yet but will definitely bump it up there on my list That's really cool they do those side books to really dive into a character as well! And absolutely man, I can't even imagine how hard that would be but am proud of you for sticking with it. That shows some massive drive right there and that's honestly more important than anything else you could do. In fact, you could easily say getting to where you are now from where you were is more impressive than what the vast majority of people have or will accomplish. Pleasure getting to meet you and looking forward to getting to know you more as well. If I were going to suggest some others I would first recommend looking at the non-Cosmere novels. I always gotta plug Alcatraz because, while more YA targeted, it has a really unique and hilarious tone to it that you really don't find elsewhere. Reckoners is also a great more serious set. I would also recommend, perhaps against your no-Sci-Fi vibe the Arc of a Scythe series. It is Sci-Fi but it's enough different that I think you could like it. It deals with a world where there are no diseases and no death because everything has become so advanced as so you have the dilemma of "Oh crap, how do we control the population now." I thought it just had a really interesting take that you might enjoy. The way the world functions too just makes so much sense I always think "If only we..." Might be worth a shot Oh and last itsy bitsy detail because corrections really drive home that warm-fuzziness energy Lols no biggie but mods prefer if you don't double post. You can tap the plus icon next to Quote on multiple peoples posts to quote them all at once in one mega-post! Look forward to seeing you around!

I think we found our match We are glad you are here to talk Cosmere as well and hope you find tons of awesome conversations to hope into! Oh also one detail because corrections make you feel sooo welcomed Lols no biggie but mods prefer if you don't double post. 15. Welcome (back? again? for the first time?) to the Shard! That is most definitely a long intro period but we are just delighted to have you here with us! We'll just call it a warmup That's so cool you've been able to connect with Jasnah and the way she looks at things! And I mean c'mon, your not nearly as awesome, you're EVEN MORE awesome What made you want to come back to check things out? Hope you enjoy the Shard!
  16. Well... that is definitely a unique way to start! I think managing to start there just makes you extra skilled in my book Yes that does sound like a bit smoother of an entry Oh also a small detail because corrections make you feel SO much more welcomed! Lols no biggie but mods prefer no doubt posts. You can tap the plus icon next to Quote on multiple peoples posts to quote them all at once in one mega post! Hope you enjoy the Shard!
  17. Absolutely, happy to help! Always takes some getting used to with new stuff no worries at all I'm sure you'll have the hang of it in no time
  18. An excellently timed reminder I am just about done! Should be posted sometime tomorrow, will post a status when it's up!
  19. I would say that is primarily just boy stubbornness as everyone else has pointed out. It could be though that you like it because you are femalen and they don't because they are malen. Either way passing ideas off as facts in anything is a no bueno! They may be basing their ideas off of the movies (which were poorly rated) and not actually have read the books as Dice put. In which case I would say something like, "True for the movies for sure, the books were honestly not that bad though they were so different" (allowing them an out in "Oh I only watched the movies, huh") You want to give them a way of changing their opinion without having to admit they were wrong. This could also be, "Honestly once you read the books all the way through..." and if you are firm enough in your opinion they could concede "Huh yeah I guess it was just the first one I didn't like" and not have to be "wrong." Boys are weird like that
  20. Oh my Well even more amazing you managed to escape then! Props to you WoK is definitely a good place to start and that is an excellent progression from there! That's one of the amazing things about these books is that you can zigzag all over the place and are still entranced in this epic story all throughout. It is truly a special series. And totally! Being able to go back to those first reads would be sooo perfect! The wonderful thing about these at least is that even though you can't go back you are constantly noticing new and interesting things, I guess we can settle Welcome again!
  21. Is this about breathing?? I knew we should have looked for an alternate solution...
  22. Welcome to the Shard! That must have been one massive rabbit hole there, are those like the mutant bunnies or something?? Glad you finally made it out so you could come join us! 20.5 something odd books (we can give the others a 0.5 ) is what keeps this so awesome hope you enjoyed them to the fullest! Rereading and rereading is the way to go, totally. And man, I think we all are here your perfect for us! Where did you start the Cosmere and do you wish you had started elsewhere? Hope you enjoy the Shard!
  23. Ooh yeah that's a pretty long run at it! I was just fixing up my iPod Classics not too long ago, one with a broken screen and one with a dead drive so I did a little smooshy smooshy and combined them to get one working one in business. Something about the feel of the old iPods just makes them perfect to hold Oh and our final welcome step says "thou shalt inform of corrections to bring about maximum warm welcomeness energy" Lols no biggie but mods prefer no double posts. You can tap the plus icon next to Quote on multiple peoples posts to quote them all at once in one mega post! Hope you enjoy the Shard!
  24. There was sort of a discussion about this on the subreddit with the first episode that mostly came to the conclusion of "possibly but it was likely elsewhere first" but like combine that "maybe-kinda" with this "maybe-sorta" and you might be getting somewhere This is honestly a pretty decent connection right here with the naming combined with the spear, good noticing! Honestly I think it is entirely possible, the people who will be writing the episodes likely really enjoy fantasy/sci-fi stuffs and so it's entirely possible one or more of them really like Cosmere as well!
