  1. "For me, touch isn't necessarily needed, but I need some level of agreement from the patient. If he's aware of me Harvesting and resists I won't be able to Harvest, and if he agrees it works without any difficulty. I don't usually Harvest - I already have large amounts of Harvest, and so, Harvesting is only used as last resort. For that reason, my knowledge of it is mostly theoretical, though I did try it once or twice. Usually, people aren't in one extreme end, and so are possible but hard to Harvest. I use more Planting, actually - placing the Harvest inside another person's mind."
  2. Gal hesitates. "I... usually don't use too large amounts of Harvest. You see, it's connected to my knowledge, though separate from it. But I can try." He focuses, trying to Plant some Harvest in the zinc plate, without success. "It appears that though your Notion is probably Ideas Realm's Ire it doesn't act the same like my Harvest. Wait, we can check another difference..." He pulls a wand out of his backpack. "This probably won't work, but can you check if this reacts to Notion? This is the branch of a very rare tree, you probably never saw one. After that, we could check whether we can Harvest each other, though we probably better be wary about that."
  3. Gal sits in the library, with two notebooks and three books opened in front of him. He talks enthusiastically to Ara, explaining about the Realmatic Theory. @JesterLavorre
  4. Sef nods a small nod toward the man, then turns to Valzwyn. "Some ancient historical theories, Miss Valzwyn. Nothing that should concern you." Though he tries to sound calm, he seems very troubled.
  5. Sef was surprised. Why would the man agree to tell him? He considered for a moment, then the dots suddenly connected in his mind. If the man will kill him, miss Valzwyn and her group won't trust him anymore. He didn't see any way for him to escape the situation unless he agreed to hide the knowledge, and he could. Owlsons knew how to keep a secret, seeing to the fact the world generally didn't know a thing about them. In addition to that, he was curious, as was natural to him, and he knew his curiosity wouldn't be satisfied if he answered no. And so, he said: "Yes, I would."
  6. "Only if you'll answer one question: why do you try to hide this prophecy? Saving the world from another Great Calamity is a noble cause, but isn't necessarily a task for one man. Destroying knowledge won't serve the purpose of saving the world." Sef stood there, examining the man. He didn't really expect a truthfull answer; destroyers of knowledge usually hid their knowledge, too. He just stalled a bit, trying to think. He couldn't get how the man created the fire; it probably was a method he didn't know well enough. He wasted most of his knowledge of Physical Ire usage already, though perhaps he could dig more of the other elements. He tried to consider his options, realizing the last trick he had was the tower itself, with all it's secrets. He had to think of it some more before trying.
  7. "We fight ignorance, bringing with us the light of knowledge. What you did only served to increase ignorance in the world." Sef stopped talking for a moment. "Well, maybe I'm overly dramatic, but I cannot allow this crime to pass without punishment." He then used another piece of knowledge about the use of Physical Ire to blow a gust of wind on the man, on a final try to make him fall, and shooting a stone from the floor toward his head.
  8. Sef quickly considered his options. He already knew what was the prophecy the man tore - he knew every book in his library by heart. Attacking this man might mean his own demise, as his powers weren't very potent. Letting the criminal go, though, did not appeal to him. He breathed deeply. "Forgotten by anyone but you, I understand." He said. "We have here a good Snakeson matter, now don't we? If you know my powers, you should remember that: I know this tower, as truly as it can be known. You cannot escape my powers within it's walls." He then proceeded to use a different Cultivation, Cultivating the Physical Ire around them to materialize as blocks of ice around the man's feet and hands, and as fire near his face. It left him very tired - though the large presence of Physical Ire in the tower helped him stay standing - and without ability to use the same trick again, but he hoped it'd work. He knew the man could use fire, but maybe it'll be enough to slow him down. Besides, the man's actions might lead him to understand what method he used to create fire.
  9. Sef carefully took the ancient scroll back to it's place, then, out of curiosity, followed the man. At the moment he tore and burnt a page, Sef was enraged. He immediately run after him, Cultivating the floor to be slippery and make the man slip. He then stopped before he himself would slip, and tried something he rarely did: Harvesting the man for information, specifically on the page he torn. "You," he said angrily, "should have known better then to ruin books in my library. Do you not know what I am? Do you not know how my kind will react to distruction of knowledge? You are a fool."
  10. "Hm. So you aren't educated in Realmatics? Bother. Many learning centers across the continent are aware of that. But, since I haven't heard of Manifesting before, I can guess that you come from a relatively far away place where scientific theories went in other directions. To explain it shortly: existence is built of a number of Realms, four of which are known. The Realms are usually either overlapping or paralleling to our world, also known in Realmatics as the Physical Realm, or the PR. The Ideas Realm is the Realm of minds, thoughts and ideas. Every Realm has it's own Realmatically-keyed energy, or Ire, and it seems to me that your Notion is actually Ire of the Ideas Realm, or IRI. I might be wrong, but from what you said it sounded like it. Usually it is classified through Centers, and not Notions, but different ways of access can use it a little differently, I guess. So, it is connected to simplicity of molecular structure, or maybe atomic? I'm not an expert in chemistry, so I don't know much about it. From what I understand, metals are different from other elements in more free electrons, though I can't see how that would make IRI more likely to stick to them. It can, of course, stick easily to minds - it does weird things with animals' minds, though - and the magic system I researched that uses it can stick it to brunches of a specific, rare kind of tree." Gal flips through his notebook (the older one) while talking, then hesitantly pulled another notebook out of his backpack. "If you wish, I have my notes on this magic system in the Common Tongue. You could read it. Is the Common Tongue your native language, by the way? Just out of curiosity."
  11. Well, since Kingsdaughter didn't write a TPBM, I'll reply on Bearer's: it depends. If I have interesting books then yes. If they aren't Stormlight-long I probably can finish them in a day (or a night, to be exact). I'm very bad at keeping any sleep schedule, especially when I have a new book. That's normal, right? TPBM knows of his famous ancestors. Directed specifically to none Jews - we have a thing with yichus, apparently.
  12. "Does it works even without insignials? Maybe the signs make the metal useable for that. If not, it means we didn't understand it right the whole time. Or maybe it's cultural? Anything can be true when working with the Ideas Realm."
  13. Sef watched while the man read. "You're researching the ancient Great Calamity." He said suddenly. "You are one of those believing it will return after a thousand years. This theory hasn't been proved yet, and still you sound so sure that the world is ending. What evidence brought you to be so certain of this conclusion? Did you see something in the histories? Or perhaps heard of a prophecy?"
  14. Sef guides the man to the history portion of the library, at the back and to the left, then opens a simple door that sits between two shelf collumns, behind which is seen a library of scrolls, built of holes in the walls. He immediately goes to one of these holes, pulling a scroll in a delicate wood casing out of it and handing it to the man. "You may read it here. Under my supervision, as I said. No taking it out of the library. There are chairs and tables at the library for your comfort." ______________________________________________ Gal rose up, took his book, and walked toward Ara. "So, about what you said earlier, of circuiting Notion through humans and metals: it's fascinating. I have researched other magic systems using energy - Ire - from the Ideas Realm, and it seemed that Planting it back to be useable is impossible. Also, I never knew it to react to wave forms, or being able to be stored in metals, especially since metal has never lived, and is sometimes counted as the opposite of ideas. I really need to talk to you more about it." @JesterLavorre
  15. "Oh, rare histories. We have some in the ancient handwritings sub portion of the histories, though not many, and only one vogue scroll from a millennia ago. I'll have to watch you while you read it - we couldn't afford let it be damaged, as it is one of very few copies."
  16. Sef turned to the man. "Please assume that we have at least all kinds of basic books. A library is never whole without histories. Possibly the only kind of books we might've not have here is novels, though we actually have some of those, too. Histories have their own portion." ___________________________________________ Gal looked up from his notebooks, turning to the annoying girl on the horse -she said her name was Cara? "The Shadow is very secretive, usually. Most of the time it's Orpheus who tells people about the prophecy - he was the one who told me, too." He proceeded to close one of his notebooks, with regret, and put it back in his backpack. He then looked at the other notebook, in deep thought.
  17. Hmm... This position seem to be empty indeed. I think this should be in the Entertainment division. Now I only need to think of what the ninth color of the visible spectrum is. Anyway, I guess you're welcome to the crew! Though I still need to think of the usefulness in having an entertainment division. Anyway, I'll just edit the OP...
  18. Sadly, I haven't. TPBM can type upside down.
  19. "In the portion of realmatics related books, inside the Spiritual Realm sub-portion, under the letter P." replied Sef, keeping climbing the stairs. "When we reach the library I'll be able to give you better directions." He noted the fact the man referred to him as a Wanderer, though appearing to ignore it.
  20. Well... Israel's a bit weird in that respect. We're probably counted as Asians, though we are on the African side of the Great Rift Valley. TPBM understands the relation between Tectonic plates and continents.
