"This sounds like the probable effect of some separate entity. It probably means you are either closely connected to one or you are the chosen champion of one. What god do you worship?"

I think Azure and Kaladin can be switched, but except for that it seems to mostly work.

This was great. The only problem I see here is that this story is definitely too short. It needs to be longer. And another crossover fanfic? I will join Ene and Kingsdaughter.

RoW Rhythms vs. Mistborn Rhythms
Trutharchivist replied to TheDomanreiter's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My wording might not be exact - English isn't my first language. Maybe I should've said related - because opposites are always related to each other. Opposites always stand on the same axis, which is why, in my eyes, opposites are sometimes more related to each other than to other things. About the rewriting - I think you are partly right, but I'm not sure if being cut from the Rhythm erases the Light's "identity" completely. It can be turned to the exact opposite, but not to another kind of light. I'm not completely sure of this point, though, and I guess I can accept conversion between lights that is made like that. The question is whether or not Investiture in the void is "blank" Investiture, unkeyed to any Shard.- 29 replies

"Well, knowledge of the Realms came from study. I... know some entities of the Ideas Realm, and sometimes there's an appearance of something from the Souls' Realm, though this one has always been the most mysterious. And Necromancers have some connection to the SpR, and they told me a little about it." He stopped, considering Talnic's question. "Well, you might have stronger connection than most people to the SpR, so you act as a gateway to prophecies. Or it might be that some entity chose you as it's champion - those things happen against people's will, though that means they can't force you to do anything. Spiritual Entities are bound by some Rules, though so far, we only know that they can't affect free will and that they have to stay true to their word. Unguided prophecies - prophecies of the first kind, given to you through your own Connection to the SpR - are generally unbiased toward any Spiritual Entity, but might be dangerous, being unguided. I don't know which is your case."

Hoblim wonders about the larger, but finds no reason to speak up. Lilliana was paying, after all. And he did wanted a whole room for himself. They were actually four, but surely they could arrange private rooms.

First, I think this correlates with something I thought about for some time: that Shards seem to fight over humans as well as power. Rayse-Odium actually sort of explains that - he says that he makes the people of Roshar fight to prepare them to the bigger war - the war for who'll be the only god, I think. Anyway, I believe that the idea of "Honor lives on in the hearts of men" was brought up by Syl somewhere in WoR, when Kaladin said he needs to know if honor is truly dead. Unfortunately, I don't have the book so I can't check.

RoW Rhythms vs. Mistborn Rhythms
Trutharchivist replied to TheDomanreiter's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't believe Ruin's and Preservation's Investitures ever annihilated each other. In Vin VS Ati's case it was a standard shard collision - Odium could do that to any other Shard if he had a death wish. Besides, if they would've annihilated one another then Sazed would've died upon taking both powers, since as far as I understand, it's impossible to mix a Light and it's opposite. The case of the mists drawing away from inquisitors is probably just like Voidlight and Stormlight refusing to mix without the Rhythm of War. I don't think it'd be possible to converse Lights like that, since this method was used only to make anti-Light, which is very similar to the specific Light itself. If Light conversion is possible at all, though, then this way seems as good way as any to do that.- 29 replies

"Well, generally the world is built of many Realms. As far as we know there are four, though there might be more: the Physical Realm is the one we all live in, the physical world, made of normal matter. Keeping this matter in it's shape is what we call Physical Ire - it may be called the magical energy of the Physical Realm. The second Realm is the Realm of Minds and ideas - it has it's own Ire, as probably does the third Realm, the souls' Realm, but now we talk about prophecies, which typically come from the Spiritual Realm. You see, both time and space are terms that can be used almost only on the Physical Realm, and so they practically don't exist in the SpR. Because of that, beings of the Spiritual Realm can see the future of our Realm. Why they care to tell us is unclear, though they almost surely have their own intents. They can affect the world in small measures - sometimes, though not always, this is how they make people obey them. You can't always know their intent. Is that enough?" Gal looks a little tired from the explanation.

The group goes according to the instructions, and reaches a big building, labeled "Cladent's inn". They enter the building. @Vapor

The Person Below Me
Trutharchivist replied to The Awakened Salad's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I think so. TPBM will keep making Jewish references, including the fact that there are some Jews (such as myself) that haven't finished celebrating Purim! -
Gal walks to the roof. "So," he says, forcing himself to speak even though he doesn't want to, "you wanted me to tell you what I know about prophecies, and I need to question you a little about the topic, so I figured we could start. From my knowledge, prophecies are glimpses to the Spiritual Realm, usually given by some kind of spiritual entity. This is the basics, at least. I can try and explain more."
-
Hoblim shrugged. He walked toward a random person at the FoR. "Um... I'm sorry, do you happen know where is the nearest inn? Preferably on the Fourth Octant." He pointed toward the street the group just came from. "Go down there, turn left at the fourth turn, then turn right on the third. It's right near the railway there, you can't miss it." Hoblim turned to the rest of the group. "Now the only question is whether we have enough money. I have twenty five boxings..." He facepalmed. "But I'm just an idiot. You have the money from the aluminum foil. You're paying then." He starts walking, probably with everyone. @Random Bystander

Hoblim shakes his head. "Yeah, it doesn't seem so. Where now, then? Do we have anywhere to stay? Or maybe we should start searching?"

Gal saw that people seemed to be too busy to answer him, and, recalling that Minuet said the Shadow killed a dragon, he pulls out one of the older notebooks from his back and went upward, to where Minuet seemed to be coming from. The library was in the second highest floor, so he found himself looking around the highest floor. "Um... Hello? Mr. Shadow, are you here?" @Tesh

People look weirdly at the kids, who seem to search for someone. Hoid, in the meanwhile, is nowhere to be seen. "Hey, kids." Says one of the people around the FoR. "Did you lose your parents? What House are they working for?" Hoblim tries to think of something to say, but nothing comes out.

So long as those aren't actually hamentashen, which are only those with poppy in them. I prefer them with chocolate. TPBM knows that hamentashen are better than latkes. -

"So you were the Feruchemist Lilliana mentioned! Maybe I should check if I got Invested too." Said Hoblim. He then returns to walking towards the beggars.
