"Hmm..." Said Hoblim thoughtfully. "That confirms one theory on the shard about copper compounding. Now I kind of wish I was a twinborn compounding copper." He then flipped a few pages in the book, returning to the beginning. "Just wanted to make sure I could store the star charts, just in case. Those things can be useful." He then smiled. "I actually wonder how will Scadrial start space travel, not having a yareach and all."

Hoblim finished reading all of Khriss' essays, and looked up from the book. Lilliana was solving her cube, probably burning bronze. Daryen was busy trying to understand how his feruchemy worked, talking to Kelsier. Faith just took her vials, but didn't drink them yet. He turned to Trésor. "So, what's the problem with storing visual memories? I know Kelsier did that." @Kingsdaughter613 @Condensation

The Person Below Me
Trutharchivist replied to The Awakened Salad's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I'm not sure what it is, and so, will assume I don't. About Pesach: it does have interesting kinds of food sometimes - matza brei is an example - but not always. The real thing is that you can't eat most of the other things you're used to. Imagine getting to eat something very delicious for a full week - on the condition you won't be able to eat pizza during this week. The prohibitions on eating came before the great foods - except maybe the sandwich, which is a special case, but can't be eaten nowadays - and technically it made the great foods. Limitations force you be more creative - I believe Brandon said that in relation to his second law of magic. But yeah. Pesach is fun, but you wouldn't want to celebrate it if you're not used to it. TPBM knows how much limitations can be helpful for creativity. (Yeah, not the most creative one... Next time, I'll have the limitation of not doing TPBM about something I've written in my post.) -
"It's not my group." Said Sef. "I'm just a librarian in this tower, and the group passed through it. My cousin here -" he nods towards Gal, who is still busy with his notebook - "is part of this group. I do not know if it has a name. This man," he says, now nodding toward Talnic, "is the leader of the group, I believe. He is known as The Shadow. Shall I ask him of this group's name?"

Sef frowns. "You were teleported from another place? Kicked, as you said. Maybe through another Realm?"

Hoblim stored as he read, trying very carefully to store the words, and not his association from them. He also made sure he stored it all in a specific metalmind - the uppermost one on his right arm. When he finished reading Khriss' essay, he thought for a moment, staring at the book. He could either work on the stories, or stick to the essays, which were more scientific and probably more relevant. But then again, stories were interesting, and sometimes held information... He sighed, flipping a few pages back to the Elantris essay. His first coppermind was still mostly empty, and straight-forward information probably worked better than stories. Maybe he could take notes on the stories and memorize those. Speaking of which, he could memorize his translation table... He realized he was digressing and returned to reading and storing.

Why is that? Just checking... It's (2^3)*3*23, in prime numbers multiplication. It's 24 squared minus 24 - which is to say 24*23. It doesn't seem like a very interesting number. Sixteen I can get, it's 2^4, so it's fine.

"Hmm..." Said Sef. "We don't know much of the stars, though the Realms clearly go in their direction, like they have an area overlapping. But, I believe you still haven't answered my original question. How did you get here? There is no empire around, and though I know the surrounding area between the seas, I know of no place where what you described is right."

Hoblim nods and starts reading again, taking Kelsier's advice.

"Well, we'll have to try and see. Anyway, I think I'll try focus on practising my Feruchemy now. Maybe you should try that with your Allomancy, too." Hoblim resumed reading, taking his pen from his shirt and starting to play around with it a bit, opening and closing it quickly, many times in a row.

"Probably should've been clearer. The question was, since you find it hard to stop after starting to talk, I wish to know how hard. So hard that you completely ignore when someone comments on what you said? Or only that you'll resume talking immediately afterwards?" He looks back at the book while speaking.

Hoblim looks up from the book. "Well, I don't know about that. I'm talking a lot without having ADHD. Can you converse, or is this just ranting without being able to listen?"

He talks to her while opening the book, searching for Khiss' essay on Scadial. "Sure. Like I said, I talk a lot too. My family usually doesn't like that - I made it a habit to talk while I do chores, and besides the fact that it means I'll be slower they mostly find what I said not interesting enough at the moment. I know to hold my tongue, but I almost never really want to." He stops flipping when he finds the essay, and starts reading, with the intention to store when he finishes.

Hoblim took the book. "Thanks." He said. He hesitated for a moment. "Well, if you're anything like me, you're probably disappointed you didn't get to nerd out. We can talk about it later, if you wish."

He looked at them. "Well, I wanted to store something relevant to our environment, and I don't have the Mistborn books here. At least not in an easy-to-memorize format." He hesitated. "I do have here a book or two I've read before, but..."

He looked a her. "I don't know if you noticed, but the shard is a nerd's place, really. And we're basically all sharders here. Now, I see myself as a nerd, and believe me, I can ramble some times. I don't ask for theories, though, because I'm not sure storing those up will be a good idea. But shoot whatever you have."

"All right." Hoblim takes six copper braces, pulling his sleeves up his arm and putting them on. He smirks at the sight of his elbows' inside - it looks red and cracked, for some reason. He looks back to Trésor. "Well, I can try and find things to store." He tuns back to the other Earthlings. "Can you tell me random, interesting things you remember about Scadrial and its magic systems?"

"I'm an archivist, apparently. Realized that in the worst way possible - I accidentally stored memories in a piece o copper I vomited into the toilet a moment later. Now I can't remember what I stored there. Could've been nice to know there is another way." Hoblim looked at him, then walked toward the mantle, opened the first drawer - "Oh, this is the vials one." He said, and pulled out a few Bronze and Pewter vials, putting them on the top of it. "Those are for you, Lilliana - " he said, gesturing at some - "and those are for... Faith, you said you name was?" He proceeded to open the second drawer, and from there he took the coper bands - the ones he felt Connected to. He then called: "Um, Daryen? I don't know what brass looks like, come and have a look yourself." He then tuned back to Kelsier. "From what I understand, Archivists work better with as many metalminds as possible, since our attribute is less useful in the normal store-tap manner. So, how many bands can I take? And Trésor," he continued, turning toward her as he spoke, "you said you're an archivist, right? Can you teach me how to sort the memories in copperminds?" @Random Bystander, @AmazingGoob

No, I'm not. And I'm not sure I understood what you meant, but it's completely fine. TPBM likes sports. (I don't.) -
