  1. "Umm... Excuse my ignorance, but what is an electron microscope? And..." He looks hopeful. "Do you have any new books?"
  2. Hoblim raises his eyes from the book when he hears all the mess. "What's all this about?" He asks, buffled. He turns to Lilliana. "And what's that?"
  3. So, here's the thing: there are a few topics I'd like to ramble about. Only problem is, it seems I can't get replies. So, where do you think I can post my ramblings of I want people to actually reply? Feel free to say nowhere. I can live with that.

    1. Goob

      Goob

      Uh... Maybe General Discussion?

  4. Sef didn't translate immediately. Instead, he stood there, thoughtful, and said to Mr. Ryan: "You don't mean the Realms, do you? Different physical worlds, not other plains of existence? It's important."
  5. "I fail to see the relevance of this horrible book to the topic we're talking of." When Hoblim sees that no one answers on whether or not they'd like to hear his ramble, he understands that they probably don't want and reopens the book, a little disappointed. Well, it's not like there's any reason they'd want to hear it.
  6. I guess I can try. Pesach is the holiday in which we celebrate our freedom from slavery in Egypt, as mentioned in the Bible, in the first chapters of Exodus. We basically can't eat bread for a week - for those who live out of Israel it's actually eight days - and... Well, actually, Chametz includes much more than just bread. It includes everything made of wheat, barley and... Well, the list is a little longer, but I'm too lazy to elaborate. Instead, we eat Matza, which is the only kind of bread we're allowed to eat. Plus a lot of potatoes and things not made of grains. As I said earlier, it can be annoying, but limits encourage creativity, and so we have interesting kinds of food. Hope I helped! Now, I made myself a limit, not to do a TPBM about things I wrote in my reply. Let's see if I'm up to the challenge! TPBM knows someone who started collecting woods for Lag Ba'Omer. Or is it just an Israeli thing? I sure hope it is.
  7. Sef didn't translate that, instead telling the Shadow what Mr. Ryan told him earlier.
  8. "Oh, thank goodness! Another book I can make references for." Hoblim turns to Trésor. "For your information, an Inkheart-situation isn't much better than Jumanji. But I digress." He turns back to the group of earthlings. "What I meant wasn't the part about reading out loud - out of which, by the way, the 'out loud' part is important - but the semi-philosophical discussion of the reality of a book. Is it really only a fabrication of the author? Or is he just an explorer, recording new places for us?" He stops, hesitating. "Actually, I gave the topic of whether what you experience is real or not far too much thought. I can probably ramble about it for hours. Would you like to hear my thoughts?"
  9. Hoblim closes the book and puts it aside. "Now, a dream isn't the only way for this to not be completely real. It could be, like I thought at first, that we entered the books. Though, of course, even if it isn't our universe, it could still be real. Did any of you read the Inkworld trilogy?"
  10. Or, "did you know that tin spikes are good for your eyesight?" Of course, putting them in your eyes is one of the stupidest things you'd ever do.
  11. Hoblim looks up from the book. "According to Secret History, which we apparently have right here, the Cognitive Realm of Scadrial looks like it's made of mist, with obsidian-like islands where there are waters. Now, I can't know if things changed during the last three centuries, but that's generally how it should look."
  12. Hoblim took the book and started reading and storing. He'd have tried helping, but... Well, he was no good in comforting people. He sat down on the floor, a few meters from where everyone else stood.
  13. "I'll ask him. He seems surprised by the fact you just left it lying here." Sef turns to Rylan, and says in elvish: "The Shadow asks what you want to know about the dragon and his group." @Onimur
  14. Hoblim turned sheepishly toward Lilliana. "Umm... Can I burrow Arcanum Unbounded again? I... Didn't store things quiet right the first time around."
  15. Hoblim saw Faith climb up and... not getting well with what beneath the patch. He tried to think of something to say, but he was never good at helping people with such things. He started fidgeting with his pen.
  16. "Oh." Hoblim said. "Um... Sorry, then. Though I don't really know where Tennessee is."
  17. It depends on what is your goal. And, surprisingly, there are goals that will require gold. Yet, I can hazard a guess that Brandon chose to create this power so that Malatium could work the way it has more than for gold's sake.
  18. Hoblim turned to Kelsier. "Umm... Kelsier? Isn't that eagle... a little heavy? I mean, he is very big." He seems to be a bit worried, and annoyed. "Just, one thing, why say just 'Tennessee'? We aren't all from the US, you know. I guess I'm the only one who isn't?"
