  1. A man burst into the tavern. He turned to the barkeeper. "I. Need. Meat." He says. "I can pay." His features are a little... canine, weirdly. Those who found themselves in the wrong places too often would be able to recognize him as a Wanderer - specifically, a Wolfson. And usually, where there's one there are others. Gal jumped at the scream from inside, his concentration broken. He debated himself, and decided to stay out, for now, though he found it hard to concentrate again. _______________________________________ Sef frowned at the scream. "Jonathan!" He called. One of the ghost servants flew into the library. "Go and check what was this scream about. It came from the kitchen, I think." Jonathan flew through the corridors, finding a terrified girl standing in the entrance, while a small child was lying on the floor. What is that? What is scary? He asked in the howling voice of the ghost servants.
  2. I never really figured out if there is a good, simple way to build characters. Should I just base them off on people I know? Should I try to invent a whole new characteristics for every one? Or perhaps I actually better start off from typical characters and then add interesting quirks of my own? Can I get help with that? (Should I tag someone?)
  3. Well, I think Israel counts as Asia, though we're on the African side of the Great Rift Valley. Actually, we're pretty much the junction between the three Old World continents! Or at least, the area. It's pretty cool. TPBM can read Hebrew.
  4. Gal rose quickly, pushing his stuff hurriedly into his backpack. He then walked outside the tower and waited there, shaking his sleepiness and focusing on the upcoming convention of the parliament. Sef told him to attend this month - apparently, he thought the prophecy held more import in it than what Gal thought. _______________________________________ Meanwhile, In the library, Sef was already awake. He drew a diagram on the floor - it wasn't necessary, but it helped holding a more stable connection to the Ideal Realm. He San on a chair in the middle of the diagram and waited. _______________________________________ Meanwhile, in Tarboda, a book merchant with some peculiar face features stood inside a diagram of his own. The sign above the door said that this store was named: "N. Owlson books", and the sign on the door said that the shop was temporarily closed. _______________________________________ Deep in the mountains, a group of ten Wanderers of the Owlson tribe - the leaders of the Parliament - stood inside a complicated diagram of their own. They were ready. _______________________________________ In random places around the continent, Owlsons got ready for the meeting - for some of them it already begun - and meanwhile, many Wolfsons finished their own meetings, since the last one was their's.
  5. So, following my post of disbanding my crew, I'd like to introduce you to my new silly idea: starting a reading group.

I have no idea if anyone will be interested (though @Omi the Counselor did say he's in) or whether or not it'll work, but I wish to try. So I'll explain here what I thought of, and we'll see how it'll go.

The idea is that: the group choses a book. Preferably one which all the group members already read once, though it's optional to ignore this specific condition. The group sets up an amount of pages per set amount of time, and after each time period starts, if possible, a discussion. Spoilers to the rest of the book will probably be allowed, so long as it's at least second reading to everyone, of course. If, at any given point, one of the group's members wants to change something in the book/wants to interact with the Secret Evil Fantasy Book Mafia (oh yeah, I forgot: fantasy books are preferable) - he may start a side RP, in which we will try to determine the effects of the change over the plot of the book.

If you want to join, please write below. If you have feedback on the plans - especially negative feedback - I'd like to hear it.

    Thank you for reading!

  6. Gal walked back to the tower, though not before Sef whispered to him: "don't forget the meeting at dawn." The fact they were going to leave before it didn't natter - it was a very special kind of meeting. After Gal left, Sef walked over to a gravestone, on which was written: "Oswald May you enjoy your afterlife. Come by sometimes." It was somewhat weird, but when you have friendly ghosts in your house you must put up with that. He nodded to himself and went back to the tower, too.
  7. Ahem! As your crewleader, I have a proclamation to make. As you surely have noticed, the crew is mostly disbanded, though unofficially. It appears that the old crew members don't take much interest in what's going on with it. And so, after a long time pondering it (who am I kidding, it was just a few minutes), I decided to make it official, I.E., to disband the crew. Now, now, I know it seems like a hasty move, and the SEFBM will surely rejoice at the loss of the only force to oppose them, but I see no other choice. Though I do intend to offer a replacement of sorts for the crew. You see, it occured to me that in some ways, the crew was really not much different from a reading group, with a little RPing on the side, perhaps. If you wish, we can start over with this concept guiding us, and maybe it'll actually work. I'd like to hear if anyone is interested in joining a reading group. Keep in mind that digging for the ideas that hide behind the story will still be a thing, and the SEFBM might be, too (at least, if counselor will join). I'll leave it to Counselor to think about his magic system, though - I think that side half-RPing will do better sticking to the original magic systems. The offer to join is open to everyone, whether or not they were originally part of the crew. Whether or not this idea takes wing, the crew is disbanded. I'll erase the member list from my signature soon, and will consider creating a new thread for the reading group, depending on whether or not anyone will be interested. Thank you for reading this far! Please reply here (or at my profile) if you like the idea of the reading group! Yours, [you can see my username, just a little up and to the left. No need for me to sign].
  8. May I have a nice summary of what generally happened without having to read through an undetermined amount of posts? I might've considered joining, but... I just can't do that without knowing anything. Though it might be an interesting idea... I'll consider it. Anyway, I'd still like an answer.
  9. @Random Bystander, @Kingsdaughter613, @AmazingGoob, @Tani, @Condensation, @Channelknight Fadran.
  10. Sef and Gal both stood there quietly, listening. They knew it was better for them not to try and say anything. Gal did his best not to pull his notebook from his bag, though he itched to do just that.
  11. Very mildly. There are much funnier numbers than 69, honestly. And... Well, I thought of answering the person above TPAM's TPBM, since it is my favourite series, but too late for that, I guess. TPBM likes acronyms, but only if they're able to open it. (Where I'm now, there are people who use acronyms they don't understand. It can be annoying sometimes - like when I ask them what this acronym stands for.)
  12. Well, maybe sometimes. Not when the rain is too strong. TPBM has read Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett, and so knows why I mentioned it here.
  13. "So, I'll just inspect Ni's body to find out why he died, and then we can bury him." Said Sef. "I'm sorry for your loss. Was he a relative of yours?" @Isabelle6060, @Channelknight Fadran, @Knight of Iron, @Random Bystander, @Onimur, @Tani, @S4S, @Condensation, @JesterLavorre, @The Awakened Salad.
  14. The ghosts howled around a bit, but after seeing that everyone preferred to stay at the door they got back inside, saying something about people disturbing their work. Sef frowned. Something was weird with this boy. It was as if, even after his death, a part of his Ideal Aspect stayed intact. Curious. "I... Probably should inspect the body for what killed him." Said Sef. "What was the boy's name?" Meanwhile, Gal sat and said nothing. He preferred not to try talking to tge grieving people - death definitely was a tragedy, but he was never good with understanding emotions. @Isabelle6060
  15. It would've been weird if I was, since it's evening where I live. TPBM has read the Books of Beggining series (it's only tangently related to tge rest of my post, and thus don't go against my rule).
  16. @More Cynical Than Funny, @Frustration, @mathiau, @Kingsdaughter613 There are probably better ways to do it - I'll add another meme later - but this is in relation to what happened at Sanderson Memes. Hope you're fine with me putting your meme inside mine, MCTF! Legendarium fans on the Shard:
  17. Agreed. That's basically what I meant in the end. And Frustration, I meant when and where this sentence was said in the book. I think I might've found it after all, though I don't have the book to check right now.
  18. So, this was the latest topic I found about the Legendarium, so maybe I can continue the discussion from the Sanderson Memes topic here. First, I'll join Frustration in claiming that Kingsdaughter deserves the title of the Shard's biggest LotR fan. One of the reasons for that is the fact I find her referencing the Legendarium and entering discussions about it more often than, say, Fadran. About Bombadil, my crazy theory was that he might be the Vala Tulkas, but it makes completely no sense. So now, I think he's just a master (sorry if I used the wrong word, I've read LotR in Hebrew). And now for something completely different: can anyone here tell me where, when and to who Gandalf said he was called Olòrin? It happened somewhere in LotR. Edit: @Malim, I continued stuff here. And you should've read on at the meme topic. Yes, Melian and Thingol have a daughter, Lúthien.
  19. Interestingly enough, while for Fëanor the Oath was the cause of his exile, for Szeth it was the reasult. And I believe we don't know whether or not Finwë was one of the ones awakened under the starred sky.
  20. Dior-son-daughter-Thingol (presumably) wore white on the day he was to be crowned king.
  21. I have to agree with Kingsdaughter here over Gandalf's real name being Olorin. I believe Mithrandir is his Elvish name, and Gandalf is his human one. I think the "son-son" should stay merely for the purpose of keeping the likeness. BTW, there must be a thread somewhere around here for legendarium fans. Where is it?
