  1. Am I that old? I shouldn't be, I'm a teenager. No seriously, are CDs not a thing anymore? *confusion and minor existential crisis*
  2. Anyone else, you say?
  3. Oh. Um.... I use Microsoft Word or Google Docs. I wasn't aware that you could use the NaNoWriMo site to actually type - I think you can just update word count and things like that.
  4. Well, do you have a keyboard? And fingers? That'll probably help. There's also voice-to-text, which I have heard helps some people get the words flowing. I think it is.
  5. Start with a monologue is one bit of advice I heard. Or if there's an interesting scene that's been floating in your head, start writing it. Even if it's in the middle of the story. You can go back and fill in why the scene is happening later.
  6. Just keep blundering through! But more specifically, find time during your day, and use it only for writing. Last year, I had between about 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. as my writing times, though I did tend to go above 1700 words to give myself buffer room in case I couldn't write on a day for whatever reason. This year, because of schedule and location changes, I actually have more time, mostly thirty to an hour stretches throughout the day. I've found that the hardest part is getting started. Another important thing I learnt last year: If you get to the end of whatever you're writing and and you don't hit 50,000 words, that's okay. It means you know where your story needs to end and you aren't dragging it out unnecessarily. On a similar note, if you need to walk away because it's not clicking, that's fine. Last year, I must have done that a dozen times, and I simply made it up the next day. And finally, spend time on fun things too! I managed to hit my 1700 words, read, go to church, and I still have time to finally finish My Hero Academia season three. That's really important, because it relaxes me to do those other things.
  7. Ising the requesting of a meme.
  8. I like listening to Christmas music, I just don't have any traditional arrangements to listen to. Still working on getting a CD of those.
  9. Welcome to the Shard! I highly recommend the Alcatraz books, they're a lot of fun!
  10. Pumpkin ravioli is a thing?
  11. November first!  Christmas season hath begun!

NaNoWriMo is a thing now!  Whoohoo!

    When is Ookla season?

  12. I can say that the sequel trilogy was not well written, and not feel guilty, but the visuals are enjoyable, and to the little girl in a movie theater for the first time, The Force Awakens was inspiring, because there was a girl Jedi. (At this point I had not seen the prequel trilogy.) Rey was a girl, and she was a Jedi, and that is something I'm very glad I got to see as a young girl. As I said, it was inspiring, and it sparked my love of sci-fi. So yes, there are flaws, but there's also some nostalgia in it for me.
  13. "My name's Martin." He knows that look, the attempt to not give it. He'd seen it too often, before he started wearing the arm wraps. Reese still gets them. He knows how much she hates it. But she hates the bionic, nerveless fingers more. "And thank you." he adds.
  14. "No, it's worse if I'm alone." Should he say it? No, he's past that, but he can allude. "I'm, ah, not actually supposed to bunk on my own right now. I can be a danger to myself. Not to others," He hastens to say. "But... there were some bad incidents."
  15. "Yes, and as long as whoever I'm bunking with doesn't mind noise. I've been informed that I scream in my sleep, occasionally." Don't think about it. Don't think about it. He digs his thumb into the underside of his forearm. Reese is fine. She's fine. "It shouldn't be bad, but... you should at least know, since tents aren't exactly soundproof."
  16. I didn't come up with this one, I saw it somewhere else, but it was too perfect. KOWT: Killing Odium With Tanks. Navani, work your magic and get us some fabrial-powered tanks.
  17. I heard he plays a lot of cop characters. Did a couple of HBO Max shows, apparently.
  18. Yeah, I thought it was pretty good. I spent around half the episode making Dune and Stormlight references. Does anyone know who played the Marshal? He looks familiar.
