Hello and welcome to the shard! What's your favorite if the Cosmere books?
-
I like this ^^^ This is how I would sort the Shards based off of those commands. *Prudence and Wisdom are likely just one shard, but they would be sorted based off what name is officially used.
-
Yes, this will be strange. The most prevalant theory for the nature of the dawnshards are two sets of opposing Commands, ie Create/Destroy and Change/Stasis. We have very little regarding what Brandon wants to do with them, so I'm here to completely reject the common theory. The Dawnshards are the Commands of big Ado that created the Cosmere. Rather than opposites I think the Dawnshards are progressive, ie line upon line. In order: Be Change Know/Think? Unite? The ones in Italics I am not quite sure about, but they seem to fit.

So, the Ch. 15 Epigraph mentions logicspren and one their purposes in advanced fabrials. During the discord discussion, it was brought up that Aon Ene, which means logic and debate, is used as a linking Aon to join lists together and to determine their timings. We know of only one other linking Aon, Ehe, fire, and it is used to start other Aon Chains. It was theorized that flamespren could be used in fabrials to the same effect. This is kind of hinted at with what Rushu gets distracted reading, the interestinmg interactins of Logicspren and Flamespren. So, yay! for that theory. Now questioning time, what other spren/Aons can be used for similar purposes? I would guess the Aon Soi, meaning "order" for the creation of lists and chains, and possibly Orderspren or Neatspren for the fabrial purposes. Aon Soo means "mathematics" so possibly some combination of effects? What d'y'all think?

I like this, I was also thinking of this as I was reading

Sorry for the clickbait, but not really. The Lhan Interlude in WoR got me thinking. The Truthwatchers of old were the investigative journalists of the Knights, if I remember the description correctly, and Pai seems to be doing that in calling out Queen Aesudan. I also think that Pai could be Pailiah, because the Truthwatchers were noted for their Tact, and the denunciation of the Queen lacked exactly that. These are my conjectures, made in haste.

Hello and welcome to the Shard! So... What's your favorite Sanderson book?
-
Hello and welcome. Now, this is basically a right of passage, so what's your favorite book of Brandon's?
-
Ooh! A-Duralumin and F-Steel for me. Because I really want to know how duralumin affects stuff other than Allomancy. I think it would work by speeding up both the filling and emptying of the metalmind, but we don't know.

My personal theory is that Adolin will become Dalinar's champion, but will not be a Radiant at that point or have access to an Honorblade. So it will be him and Maya against some super powerful evil person.
-
Random question that seems to fit here: do we know the gemstones that are are attached to different blades? I know that Jezrien's Honor blade has a sapphire, and Noah's shardblade has a heliodor.

Favorite stormlight archive senes

Adolin vs 4 others in the dueling ring in WoR, because fighting multiple people is storming hard, and Adolin is freakishly good. -
This is true, that Brandon likes subverting our expectations, but you can't build a story around that. Also from the discussion here, it seems like most people favor Kaladin or Szeth. Adolin would be slightly out of the blue, and he isn't even planned as a flashback character. If you want it to be even more unexpected, what if Adolin never becomes a Radiant? (I have mixed feelings about this, but the story of Adolin, without access to Surgebinding would be epic) I think Odium would be rightly suprised

I think the official answer is "we don't know", as both Hoid and Pre-shattering magic are mysteries. I, however, think that this could very much be true. I have found neither conflicting or confirming WoBs.
-
Hello. Here's your obligatory question, feel free to answer or not. What is your favorite book of Brandon's?
-
I believe that Brandon has said that if you were to become an aluminum savant it could heal your spiritweb of unwanted effects. But allomantic aluminum is in a weird state.

No, the Rithmatist is a far future version of Scadrial, after Hoid/Alcatraz fixes Adonalsium/Stephen Leeds. Investiture gets mixed up again, and Scadrial is swirled around until it looks like the Rithmatist's earth. The "Chaining of the Shadowblaze" (I believe is what it's called) is just a Nahel Bond, 'cause the investiture was blended like a big magic smoothie.

Game: Cosmere Theory Generator
rosin_the_beau replied to Singer's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Cusicesh is called the Protector. However, he is not protecting the Dawnshards. What he is protecting is a map to the weapon that shattered Adonalsium. However this weapon was broken by Honor sometime after the shattering, and he used the pieces to make the Dawnshards, which are currently being used as the blades for a ceiling fan on a small island on the back side of Roshar. Let's see... Duralumin and Oathbringer (the sword) -
So this is completely a joke, but we know that Alcatraz Smedry has the power to break things. He breaks a lot of everything. We also know that Adonalsium was broken into sixteen pieces. Also, in the Reckonners, we see technology that can recreate people's powers. So, by the laws of absurd logic, I believe that someone stole Alcatraz's power and made it into a weapon, gave the weapon to someone else, who then used it to shatter Adonalsium. Alcatraz then figured out what happened, and he went on a quest to fix it. He is who we know as Hoid.

Heralds + We're missing an Unmade
rosin_the_beau replied to Lightspine's topic in Stormlight Archive
I like this. I haven't thought that the Unmade were reflections of the Heralds. If this is true there's a different reason there's only 9. If they were made by torturing the Heralds until they broke, then there wouldn't be one for Taln, as he has only broken once. -
Well here are my version of the Truthwatcher oaths. "I will seek Truth for the sake of Truth" "I will seek Truth for the good of all, and not for my own benefit" "I will not force others to accept the Truth" "I will accept when I am wrong"

Actual Physical Watercraft Ships
rosin_the_beau replied to rosin_the_beau's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Not those kinds of ships. This is for talking about seafaring, not romance. But the Brunstell is good
