  1. Faleast was very uncomfortable. For one thing, this was another of those outside-the-cosmere places that needed quite a roundabout journey to get to. Randland, it was called - somewhat. That seemed a bit like if Harmony took to calling Scadrial "Elendland" instead of just renaming the main city Elendel. But it had its own powerful magic, the One Power, and AraRaash wanted to investigate seeing as getting out of Nowhere would need a similar journey anyway. For another thing, he was wearing a dress. She, whispered AraRaash's voice. "Shut up," Faleast whispered. Apparently the magic here - saidar and saidin - could only be used by males and females, respectively. Faleast had agreed that they should pretend to be a channeller the entire time while they worked on finding the secret for the ability. And then AraRaash revealed that the male power didn't work right. Something about brutally murdering the user. So... now Faleast was a woman. "Aren't you a male kandra anyway? So this exercise is entirely pointless?" Faleast whispered again. His - her - gahhhhhhh - voice was familiar, but much higher than usual. "We'd still get saidin." That's not the part I'm really worried about. People use saidin where we're going, and I think it's fixable, AraRaash's voice sounded. The Evil One's touch doesn't reach outside of Randland... I think. Odium's doesn't. Besides, kandra are gender-neutral. So technically I'm a they, biologically speaking. I just go by he because people seem to think stabbing people is a masculine art... but it's also one handed, so, what's up with - "I thought Rashek made you from people," Faleast cut him off. Evolution go brrrrrrrr. "... huh?" Sorry, said AraRaash. We evolved out of it. Somewhat. Mistwraith details are fuzzy. I could probably find a book about it if you - "No." A few people around Faleast jolted and started staring. Her face flushed. There you go! AraRaash exulted. You're getting the hang of this. You'll be an Aes Sedai in no time. "Why couldn't I just pretend to be a Warder," Faleast grumbled. Just because you have a fancy sword that can cut anything now doesn't mean you get a put a heron on it. And besides, you still can't stick two pieces of Velcro together with it. You're no Bondsmith and no swordsman. But being a channeller will be fun. "I can't imagine it being worth this much," she replied. Oh, pull yourself together. I haven't even started making you anatom- "NO!" ... This will be fun I'm not claiming Ajah I just wanted to make a crossdressing Faleast Edit: also someone please post I have things to actually contribute with
  2. With the four-Elim guestimate (which is my guess as well) in mind, my personal guess is that the Elims have one Ajah-warder pair. But NOT two. So if an Elim is found... what do we do about the person they’re bound to?
  3. I never get suspicion for not voting D1... (Somewhat seriously, the last time multiple people read me village for a single post I was promply shot twice in the head...)
  4. Oh, that's why I left an empty space at the bottom of my post... No Roleblocks this game. Only way someone can stop an action is A) kill you before you can share scan results or B.) protect someone being killed. We currently have an odd number of players, meaning either someone's got multiple Warders or someone's missing one. (Or there's a rogue Thug pretending to be a Warder.)
  5. As noted, we can't depend on PMs for claims. Which I was going to point out and then got ninja'd thirty times over with. That being said, Ajahs should be communicative with your Warders. The most dangerous information an Elim!Warder can have - what type of Ajah you are - is already in their hands. If you don't want to explain what you're going to do this cycle, tell them what you did last cycle. Ajah who are more disruptive to the Black Ajah / Elims should probably tell their Warders after the fact (particularly the Green, Yellow, and Blue Ajah). If you trust the Warder more and your ability isn't so disruptive (such as Brown/Red rolescan, which can't really be changed besides murdering the scanner and losing all the Elim!Warder's abilities) it is probably safe to plan together. There isn't too much of a point to having your Warders act as a voice, as a killed Warder will disable the Ajah abilities anyway. I suppose it depends on the role and how many Warders you have: someone with two Warders (and something really worth claiming for) should probably claim themselves, as their Warders can keep them alive for 4-5 turns not even counting the Yellow protect. Someone with one Warder, could go either way. I'd say Ajah for semi-important info and Warder for very-important info. No Warders... just claim it yourselves
  6. "Forgery... sort of? It's where people can make something pretend to be something else. Except it's not. So like Soulcasting but only... superfluous." Poller shook his head. "No, not superfluous... superficial?" He tapped a bit of his bronze. "I definitely have memories of the... the thing we talked about, that don't match, but besides that my recent memory seems to fit. Although to be honest there isn't much that I've notably done in recent memory, besides coming to work here. Mostly it just seems like... skills. Like I knew looking at that burning building that there wasn't much in there that we could save structurally, but it also wasn't going to collapse on anyone's head." Poller hesitated slightly. "I also... felt like I was useless. More than normal. Like I should have been doing something to help instead of just standing around... but there wasn't anything I could have done... but part of me thought there was."
  7. "This is fine," Cassie said. "I figured if we're planning to fight to the death alongside each other, we should at least know each other's names." She tapped one of her dirks on her shoulder. "Cassandra Adama, metallurgist and Soulcaster. Normally I'd shake your hand but I find that... difficult at times. If you need more bendalloy, I can supply that for you know." She started reloading her Soulcaster - an arduous process, as her metallic fingers had some problems with the housings - and she endangered just breaking the gemstones entirely. The gemstones... "You said you were a Radiant?" she asked. "I have some spare gems for my Soulcaster. They're small, but well infused."
  8. Cassie hesitated. The girl was coming up behind her. She Pulled, reaching for some of the weapons behind the soldiers. A shield crashed into one, nearly knocking him over, and one of her razors burst through another's throat. Cassie turned. "Can you make a bubble? Now?"
  9. "Uh... yeah." Poller hesitated, brow furowing. He'd... he'd talked to Aln before. Folorian was a bit strange sometimes, yeah, but he hadn't even looked up at him, and Aln had somehow missed... everything he'd said? Rusts, were they both deaf? Aln it seemed could read lips just fine. So... no matter, Poller supposed. "I was... I was asking if you had a plan. Or a solution. Or... well, any idea what it is that we have here."
  10. Clank. Poller's eyes shot open as the device strapped to his chest deactivated, removing a molded bronze piece from his skin. He'd had the thing constructed to help him sleep on a mostly normal schedule. He didn't use it that often - there was some value in his capabilities for being open 24 hours a day - but he... really needed his sleep. Perhaps later he would have time to work the bronzemind into a section of his staff. He wandered out of his bed, grabbed his staff and the charged plate, pulled a shirt on - he'd evidently gone to sleep in most of his clothes - and carefully made his way to where he'd let Aln and Folorian rest for the night. The two appeared to be already at work writing down... something. Poller knocked on the half-open door, then walked in. "So... what's the plan to do now? I don't even... I don't even really know what it is you're looking for." @Rushu42 @mathiau
  11. Cassie and the Thug circled each other for a few steps, but she knew that wasn't sustainable. She might be a bit more durable than the average person, but she couldn't last against a Thug for long, and there were more Hemalurgists that she couldn't afford to keep at her back for long. The Thug rushed forward, and Cassie blocked his arm with her left and swung with her right. The soldier dashed back outside her reach. So Cassie reached down and picked up a rock with both hands, dropping her knife. The Thug hesitated, and she hurled the rock with all her might, which... wasn't much. And then she Soulcast the rock to mercury. The liquid metal splattered across his face, his chest, and part of his arms. He screamed - a poor choice, as the metal began to crawl into his throat. Cassandra simply walked forward, tapped her fingers on the man's chest, and Soulcast the mercury back into steel. The Thug stiffened, spasming at the extremities, and she grabbed her dirk from where it fell from the floor. "Anyone else?" she said simply. There was, in fact, someone else. Four soldiers approached, pointedly not looking at the metallic Thug. So Cassie rushed forward. Time to get serious.
  12. "Spheres... no. Cassie might have some filled amethysts or infused spheres in currency, but neither of us are Radiants. I just carry chrysts," Poller replied. "But... yeah. Emporium should be available."
  13. The flames were dying down, now. Cassie and a few of the others seemed to still be in the building - probably looking for anything to save - so Poller let himself relax a bit. Aln and Folorian were talking outside, evidently willing to let the hospital workers do their own job. Well... time to try and get back into this. He jogged over, trying not to lean on his staff. "Nothing... nothing seemed to enter the building from that side. So I didn't see anything about... monsters. Whatever happened mostly happened before we got here." He looked at his feet. "Uh... sorry I'm not much help. But I think Cassie's busy trying to save the world or something, so... the Emporium should be available?" @mathiau @Rushu42
  14. Reminds me of when I went to go look up Nightblood after reading Warbreaker (because Nightblood is awesome) and the page proudly warned me that it contained Spoilers for Oathbringer...
  15. @TJ Shade... do the Black Ajah have a faction kill? It’s in the OoA but not the Rules.
  16. Signing up. Faleast is similarly confused by WoT, but after getting quickly ejected from Starsight he’s a little lost.
  17. The words I'm not a storming Radiant died on Cassie's lips as the girl burst into motion. A bendalloy bubble. So she was a Misting... and a Radiant? That was interesting. Coins shot at her. Cassie Pulled, redirecting the coins into her left arm - but not before one took her in the side. She grunted, but... it hadn't actually hurt as much as she expected. Must have hit her bandolier. She whirled a dirk at a Thug running towards her, slashing one of his arms before embedding it within his shoulder, then reached into the bandolier, grabbed three razors, and flicked them at the offending Coinshot. They laughed, Pushing them away - only the middle one continued on and hit him in the chest. Good old aluminum. These Hemalurgists were inexperienced- A fist slammed into her. The Thug was back. Okay, that's enough of that. The Thug had drawn her dirk from his own arm. She held out her metal arm, and drew her second dirk. Cassie grinned. Now this should be interesting.
  18. Well, here we go. Cassie lunged out her left arm at the soldier, stiffarming him. The metal that had gathered in her arm did make her less dexterous, but it also made her much, much stronger. Sort of. The soldier crashed into her arm. Her wrist, elbow, and most of her shoulder held, but she herself was pushed back, feet sliding, almost toppling over. And then she reached over with her other hand, lightly tapping on the soldier's face. They both screamed. And Lord's soldier melted into mercury. Cassie panted, clutching her shoulder. That had taken more than she was expecting... she must have Soulcast the spike along with the woman. She'd lost track of Lord. The helper girl had doubled back to her, but there were others getting up as well. More Hemalurgics. Cassie flicked a dirk into her freehand, as she didn't trust her Soulcaster for extended combat. Then she burned iron, letting the mercury flow up to and over her left gloved hand. "You need a plan?" she asked the girl, settling into a combative stance.
  19. "HEY! DO YOU NEED HELP?" a voice asked, loudly. Cassie turned, to respond and shoo the girl away... then looked past, as if seeing the room for the first time. As if seeing anything accept Lord for the first time. Corpses littered the floor. Most were burned beyond recognition. But that one... that one still had a knife in its back. Cassie burned iron, looking for more weapons. This incursion had obviously not gone according to plan. Oh Roshar... The corpses were littered with spikes. She'd failed. "Check the dead, if you can. Find any survivors," she told the girl who wished to help. Then she turned to Lord, looking down at the nearest corpse, at the blue line heading into its chest. She brushed the line mentally, and ripped the bloody spike into her hand. "This isn't nearly enough for them to be gone, Lord. What. Have. You. Done." @Random Bystander @Lord_Silberfarben @Scarletfox
