Uh... yeah, don't do that. We're not supposed to talk about ongoing games outside of the game thread where other living players can see. You can always RP as a Worldhopper from Scadrial, but don't start revealing things about one game in another's thread.

Yeah, I just found the posts out of order. Mainly because it was TUO and Tani bouncing off of each other that bugged me. But... uh... oh, here? Gotcha. Opposite contribution crusade will hopefully never become a thing I just meant that it was a lot of votes for not a lot of posts. But Archer does big posts so I guess that's not so unusual. But your point is noted; although elaboration would be appreciated, I've got two other votes to deal with... ... noted, but less noted. This is what I was trying to get at - I'd prefer if we can get most of us on the same page D1/D2 about both 1) what a Seeker should do if they find a Mistborn (or a Terris does; Tineyes probably can't prove Mistborn-ness unless two Tineyes catch someone targeting two different people) and 2) what we should do if a Seeker outs one regardless of what we decided for #1. It seems like more people are leaning towards letting the Mistborn be, but I want people to take a side. Uh... well, when you do, I'd appreciate. ... aaaand there's a new page. Well, I'll edit this if there's any fires I need to put out. If not I need to do HW. Edit: so Tani was off Archer and is now back on... hmm. I assume same reasoning still applies?

... two votes on Archer for "reasons to come", one vote because... possible but unlikely distancing? Can you guys elaborate a bit? TUO specifically? Currently Archer's got the same number of votes that he has posts... which isn't that uncommon for D1, but this feels like the opposite of a contribution crusade.

I think making summary posts of notes of the day can help for a lot of different players. I've done that a few times when I've been too busy to actually create or share my thoughts real-time, and it could help the hyperposters (you, Illwei, Mat, Connie, etc) filter out what you mean vs what you're saying for the laughs. But I don't think that's a responsibility that you, specifically, need to do each game? Different people posting their thoughts on what went down D1 to either fill the first Night or as talking points the next Day is... sort of what the game is. It would be a good group effort to sort of summarize our own ideas (and our impressions of each others'). (Plus (as Wyrm has apparently ninja'd me on) I'd constantly be nervous that you're an Elim and are leaving something out )

... too low of a chance that they're Vin? Assuming no Mistborns are down, it's a 1/3 chance, and it's not going to get any higher. Statistically exeing a Mistborn will kill an Elim the majority of the time. So isn't that exactly why we should exe them, or at least consider them much more suspicious? If a Mistborn's already dead all of this kind of goes out the window. If Zane/Gneordin are gone, it's suddenly much easier for Vin to prove herself through a Mistborn metal/specific metal. If Vin's gone... goodbye Mistborn. ... also, coming right off of the LG I'm a little adverse to trying to predict what the Elims will do

... we should probably make one of our D1 Talking Points TM on what we should do if a Seeker finds a Mistborn, because if a Mistborn's outed there's a 2/3 chance you take out a really powerful Eliminator role and a 1/3 chance that you take out the most powerful and most Village role in the game. Zane's a bit easier to prove as Zane (both from the random metals and the fact Zane can theoretically use the same metal twice in a row), but because Seekers can't see Atium/Duralumin then Gneordin and Vin are essentially indistinguishable... unless we force the Mistborn to burn their Atium to check action inputs, which Gneordin couldn't pass but Zane could. But then we're in "forcing people to do things isn't fun" territory. I think if Vin used her Duralumin on a Rioting, she could prove herself as Vin, as Zane would need to roll the 1/7 chance to get Zinc, but that wastes a very potent resource and can get messed up by Coinshots. Any one else have ideas?

Yeah, Illwei got me too - I was quite confused why she voted Connie. Then the votes came tumbling down and I realized why there were so many people viewing the thread at once Should of tried the three-suspicions thing a cycle earlier. That was actually surprisingly helpful.

I'll add a note on this: I don't think fake-claiming in and of itself is a bad thing. (Kas's LG Aftermath post gives a few good reasons for this, but 1) that's the LG with perfect Seekers and 2) a whole lot of PMs.) Lurchers and Seekers, for instance, probably should fake a claim if given the chance, because those are really powerful roles even outside of LG/AG rules and thus are much more likely to get Elim killed, especially in this environment where there's two Elim teams. And a Seeker shouldn't out them unless they've got a really good reason to (ie they've burned another metal giving them a 2/3 chance of being Elim, or if they've been protecting Elims / scanning people who later die). On the other hand, the main point of being a Thug is to not let anyone know you're a Thug so you can soak up an Elim kill or hammer or attempted misexe. Plus outed Thugs tend to have a hard time in games where there are confirmed Elim roles with extra lives, such as Conversion games or this game with the two Elim Mistborn. So fake-claiming as a Thug also is a good strategy. If someone claims they're a Thug but is actually a visiting role, or claims Smoker but is actually a Coinshot, that's reason enough for suspicion. But fake-claiming as a Lurcher/Seeker/Thug is something that I think is fairly innocuous.

Derrick burned. He hadn't exactly been hopeful that much else would happen. At first he'd thought that the Spiked would leave him lying in the ash, defeated in spirit but not in mind. And then one of them had lobbed a firebomb at him for good measure. So now he was lying in the ash, surrounded by burning planks from what used to be a reputable grocery store in what used to be a reputable town. His skin peeled back, turning from pale to red to blackened, finally to join the ash around him. Well, that's what was happening to his skin. A layer lower, Derrick's Progression was running overtime to keep his bones from melting in his makeshift funeral pyre. He hadn't had to depend on Bloodmaking yet, but he probably would once the flames finally went out. Other than that, not much else to do except wait, and be cautious. Fire could kill a kandra caught off guard; Derrick had the Lifeline, but using it was a pain. Rather like the excruciating pain of being burned alive, in fact. Wasn't being burned alive one of his recommendations? He'd suggested it to Kast when he was being interrogated. No, that didn't end up happening. But it was an idea that he'd had, and now it was actually happening. It was certainly less awkward than trying to explain how he had spikes, how he could hear Ruin's muttering in his head constantly, and yet he wasn't officially considered a Spiked. Not a Spiked, a spiked. The capitalization of a word isn't usually the best legal defense, especially when legality had gone out the window with Bartholomew's murder. The only natural Seeker in town, murdered before anyone could turn to him for hope. Derrick should have paid more attention to that. Something squeezed through the burning remnants of wood. One of his chalklings. It drew a few lines, white against the dark ash, then promptly faded. So, his last task had been accomplished; or perhaps a better analogy would be the last loop had been broken. Roko had regained the orb. There was, quite literally, nothing Derrick could do. Not to stop the madness, that had passed long ago; no, there was nothing Derrick could do. Objectives One and Two - failure. Objective Three... well, that could very well be a rousing success. But that was up to the Overseer now. Not Derrick. It was time. Derrick started shutting things down. He couldn't fool Ruin for forever, but he knew it was possible. He let the Progression withdraw to his chest cavity and the precious metals there, letting the fading flames truly consume him. His slowed breathing stopped. His heart, eventually stopped beating. Then there was silence. It was time for Derrick to end. Faleast opened his eyes, and rose from the ashes. Oh, NO. We are NOT starting this off with a phoenix metaphor. That's the most cliché thing I've seen since you do since you got the Overseer confused with Harmony. Faleast didn't respond, at first. "How do I know it worked?" he finally said, limbs regrowing. You think I'm Ruin, eh? Shadowblaze. "That... fine, AraRaash. So it is you." Yes, it's me. Do you really think Ruin would go all ventriloquist again? Mix us up until there's three of us and no one knows which is which until you had the brilliant idea of having us puppet-march EACH OTHER instead of one at a time? "I seem to remember that you didn't want to sit still for days on end," Faleast said, looking up at the ash-filled sky. Well. Ruin can't destroy Fallian's Tyrs with us twice, and if I'm right in my timeline he's gonna get real busy real soon. I think we're in the clear. "I know. Let's go to Luthadel, then. I'd hate to miss out on all the fun." ... there was nothing you could have done, Faleast. Nothing either of us could have done. We were beaten. It was that simple. Anything more we tried to push out would have broken the rules. Caused a Divergence. Even I won't risk that, not when there's more we can do down the line. We did what we came here to do. And because of that we'll win in the end. "I know," Faleast said. He was still looking up. He didn't know if he could bear to look at Fallion's Tears for the last time. "But that doesn't mean I didn't fail." Dying in fire, Derrick left Fallion's Tears with flames, smoke, ash, and blood. Walking away, Faleast left Fallion's Tears with nothing but a few Tears of his own.

Faleast smiled. It was good to be back. I'm back too, you know, whispered AraRaash in his head. They still hadn't figured out a better way of communicating without mental-speaking... AraRaash had a few ideas, but Faleast had vetoed them on account of the likelihood they would leave him hanging from a hook. Having a second jaw... that wouldn't go without drawing attention. And attention meant Inquisitors, and Faleast had not had a good time the last time he'd met an In Now that's not fair. The hook's for abusing Allomancy. They'd just cut your head off. "The point is taken," Faleast said dully. "But this works for now, now that Ruin's not a problem." Or, not his problem. How'd we do that again? I forget. "I don't think it's happened yet. But it will, one way or the other. Just not sure how." Ah. So the Principle was invoked again? "... the what?" Faleast whispered. Oh. You don't remember? I guess so. Well... I'll explain it when you're older. "I miss Derrick already," Faleast said, chuckling. The experiment had been a nice change. One insanity for another. Great. Well, I wouldn't discount Ruin entirely. My guess is he won't be able to imitate the both of us, but he can definitely speak and possibly listen. He's just not. Because he knows how this is going to go, and either way it does... Faleast nodded. Well, he had a meeting to head to. The Ventures were looking for atium. They wouldn't find it, of course; it was possible Rashek had hidden some in Kredik Shaw, but the majority was in the Trust. That and a handful of beads embedded under Faleast's sternum, but those weren't exactly for sale. Faleast couldn't use it, but he would figure out what to do with them in time. Fortune was an elusive art; not as useful to him under the guard of the Overseer - best still to call them that, he thought - but still something he could do a lot with. No, Faleast had his eyes set on a much grander prize. It had eluded him in Fallion's Tears. Probably didn't even exist there. But here... that was a different story, wasn't it?

Cett had a Mistborn, but he wasn’t Gneorndin. (He was also murdered by Vin in WoA around Chaper Two ). But yeah Gneorndin is just for name-recognition and balancing the teams... and him versus Zane does it fairly well, as I’m not sure which is more powerful. Randomness and Power versus Choice and Comparitive Weakness... Gneordin has the edge in my opinion but a Duralumin-boosted Rioting can pull off a four-vote swing. That’s... that’s something.

Tell me, 'Derrick'. What is more important to you? Having a chance, a meager hope, that what little you can do will defy me? Or simply letting it all... end? Derrick knew what Ruin meant. Derrick did to, although he liked it less. This pattern... even if it did work, it would need time. A lot of time. Likely even more time than they'd spent trying and failing to find the Spiked; with Sara gone, they had no real methods of... expediting the process. And it would be unbelievably boring. Just wait for Sunny or Elandera or Roseanna or whoever the rusts was still alive to get him to spit out a name, then go back to sleep in the ash until the Spiked got around to pretending to murder him. Or actually murder him, depending on their point of view. Was Ruin bluffing about telling the Spiked about him? It did raise interesting questions... how much Marsh knew about the Wanderer, for instance. But that was a query for another day. I don't bluff. Derrick took command. "Oh, sure you don't. I'm sure you know everything you need to know." Derrick shuddered, but cracked a smile. I'm not getting anywhere with you, am I. "Probably not. I think we're just rubbing off on each other." Or I'm getting 'Derrick' confused between my voice and yours. "Ah yes. Subtlety. A core trait of the self-named God of Destruction. You're about as black and white as a broadsheet." Okay, that was enough Derrick for today. Derrick took back control, and resumed his daily activity of simply lying in the ash pile. He'd accumulated quite a bit. He'd have to be careful to not let the germs get too far into the pile that he wouldn't be able to get them all back or Nicroburst. Starting a superplague right before the catacendre was not exactly on his to-do-list. You'll get yours one day, Derrick. "Won't we all? That's what the end means, doesn't it?" "But I'll answer your question... I will persist. I'll even persist as a man, the role I'm playing, if I'm given the chance. Keep myself alive for as long as I can... until it's time to end. When someone will decide to kill me, and I pretend to go along... or I'll decide that this is it, and that's all I can do. I find the best time to remove myself from the situation. And then I'll move on to the next place, and the next..." "It will end. Someday. Someday I'll find myself in a place even the Overseer can't get me out of. Or... I find the right time. I'll know. When it's better for the world for Derrick to end. And... that will be it. But today's not that day." "What I do here... what is there to do. Either I wait, or I don't. But no. I'm not giving up. You may have fooled me... you all may have. I allowed all but the barest thread to slip through my fingers. But that doesn't mean I need to let go." Derrick fell silent. The sun would set on this day. Perhaps this chapter would be the last; perhaps it was just the end of the First Act of two or three. He'd find out in the morning.

Derrick was surprised. Not only had he not taken a knife to the chest as he'd slept, but the city had not delved into chaos as he'd expected. And now, as per the rules of engagement, they had to elect someone to... what would they do with them? Execute them? Throw them out? Hang them from a hook? It wouldn't make too much of a difference. Derrick decided he'd just stay in the ash. He'd had time to make plans. Derrick made it difficult not to broadcast his internal monologue to where Ruin could hear... but given time, he could manage. Mainly with Derrick - blast, this was confusing - sleeping. He'd decided against acting with what powers he'd gathered. That would cause too many... issues. A Divergence at minimum, Ruin learning about the Overseer's goals - and identity beyond one of the sixteen - as a worst-case. Luthadel... he could go to Luthadel. If he knew what was going on at this time, it would prove a... similar excursion. Perhaps even with better potential results. If not for Objective One, then Objective Two. What after that, he didn't know. Well... he smiled. There was one thing he could do. Illwei. It would be good to be back.
