  1. Generally speaking, games are balanced with alignments getting specific roles attached, but then those are randomly distributed. So Ash didn't handpick the elims, but in theory he handpicked what blades the elims got.
  2. I didn't realize we had 20 players. Huh. How would 21 force 7 elims? 1/3 is an insane ratio and I don't see any mechanics that would warrant it. I'd guess 5 elims right now. Also, pretty sure the Shaman is a conf village role. Archer
  3. I’d stay up to do it, especially next week when I gain an hour back :P. So if anything it should be a red flag if I’m around at rollover on weekdays
  4. I mean. Turtle implied they were going to take the vote off soonish in their post, so doing so without pressure wouldn’t be interesting, it’d be expected. What do you think?
  5. Sure, but all that should mean is that you get to the thread sooner, right? Pretty sure she’s implying that I’m e/e with turtle :P.
  6. Rollover’s at midnight in my current timezone, but once I get back to my normal one it’ll be 11. Which isn’t much better, but it’s at least possible to get to rollover Here now though. And it looks like I’m not too late :P. Archer
  7. I am the tallest, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Don’t even need to check Watch me be proved wrong now
  8. Ash stole Droid Technician, but I’m going to use it anyway :P. Smarts the droid technician is in, and yes, that’s a fake name. You don’t want to know his real name. I’ll try my best to make sense of these rules at another date, but looks fun!
  9. It was my plan since like… C2? Maybe C3. You can find in the dead doc the moment I thought of it. Hey, RNG saw the Zahel explanation before I did I guess Yeah, the immunity (or lack thereof) at the end there was a bummer. I’ll have more on that later. This was unconventional evil, though, so it doesn’t count
  10. Aftermath: A Sudden End "Our next special guest is one I think is quite appropriate for the ongoing competition: Zahel! Zahel is a master swordsman, and he's helped me improve my natural skill all my life. He will provide insight, no doubt, on the bouts." "'Lo, Adolin. I do indeed have some insight, but I doubt it's what you're expecting." "Ooooh, fancy. Looking forward to it." "Take a look down there, at the arena. Indeed, everyone, take a good long look. See past the swordplay, the showmanship. Often that which is in the background is of most importance, so see beyond the flourish." "What are you getting on about, Zahel? I think the important thing is the competition, and you're missing it! Ooooh, look at that! Novel's had a near miss! Zahel, why don't you analyze his dodge for us?" "You're not listening, Adolin. The duelists are secondary. There's something else that's true art, hiding in plain sight." "The dueling seems like art to me. Look at the forms! The exactness!" "No. That is not form, nor exactness. I speak of that which is formed from straw and clay." "The... training dummies? I know I asked you to make them to spice up the arena, but--" "They are beauty, elegance. They are perfection. They are art." "Oooookay." "Look." *louder:* "Begin battle!" *two training dummies begin to move, dancing across the arena. One hits Mr. Misting, but he stabs it in return* "Woah! Zahel, what the storms did you do?" "I didn't do anything, Adolin. I don't know what you're talking about." "But you yelled, and then-- woah!!!" *the remaining dummy surges towards Novel, but he performs a spectacular dodge and slices it clean in half* "No!" "What are you yelling about, Zahel? That was spectacular!" "My dummies! My art! My example of true form!" "You can always make more. Anyway, our time is up! This concludes the Warcamp Dueling Competition! Awards to come shortly. Congratulations to them! Unofficially, Sadeas' Slayers have won the duel 3-1, but for the purpose of stats sheets I would treat that as just flavor. There were only four winners Doc Links: Master Sheet Dead/Spec Doc TD Doc I'll post full GM thoughts on the game balance and everything tomorrow, but suffice it to say this could have gone very differently. Any thoughts on changes that would make this ruleset better would be appreciated. Thank you to everyone who signed up, played, and otherwise dealt with these bonkers rules as I tried them out-- BT mission: accomplished! Player List:
  11. Cycle Five: New High Score! "It's been an exciting few minutes, dueling enthusiasts! Relatively low-action, to be fair, but exciting all the same. I'm on the edge of my seat, personally. The question is, can the competitors keep it up?" *intense silence as the crowd looks onward* *crashing noises* "OUCH!! Silhouette took quite the slam, there. I'm not sure how he didn't see it coming. Or... it appears his facemask is smeared with some clay. Did he run into a dummy when no one was looking? That's funny! Those are only there for decoration, really. And dismantling. But with that, I don't think Shining will be able to continue. And he's from Sadeas' team!" *slight pause* "...Which is very sad, very sad indeed." *coughing* "Aaaaanyway, we return our attention to-- woah! We return our attention to the three-way collision that just happened! Dannex cleverly used a dummy as a shield against- is that Keredin! I know Keredin!" *yelling* "HEY! KEREDIN! REMEMBER ME? *pause* "Oh, it appears that Keredin was knocked unconscious by Dannex's counterattack, giving Sadeas' Slayers another point. If I were the dueling judge, I'd call that move too aggressive, but I suppose those aren't the rules..." Shining Silhouette was blindsided! He was a member of Sadeas' Slayers! Cinnamon was stabbed! They were a Training Dummy! dannnnnnex has won, and left the arena in happiness! He was a member of Sadeas' Slayers! Kasimir was his opponent, and was a member of Aladar's Attackers. 12. Cycle Four: Sensational Double Backflip “It’s that time of day again! Get excited for our next special guest: Brrrrrridge boy!” “…” “That’s what I like to call Kaladin Stormblessed, if you don’t know. He’s doing his sulky thing again, but he agreed to be here so that's something!” “That was all Syl. I’d rather not be in front of a crowd, if I’m being honest.” “Nonsense. But did I hear the name of my favorite Honorspren?” *slight whooshing noise* “Hi, everyone!! Wow, there’s a lot of people here. They sure are noisy.” “Kind of gives the impression they’re not listening to any of you, doesn’t it?” “Shush, Kal. I’m sure they’re hanging on Adolin and I’s every word.” “Exactly! The Dueling Championship wouldn’t be the same without an interactive announcer.” "Not like much is happening." "Just you wait, Bridge boy. These kinds of things always-- OOOOH!" "Ouch!!! That's gotta hurt!" "You're welcome, for jinxing it." "Yes, thank you. But for anyone who somehow missed it, Tara made an excellent play! Indeed, I've never seen anything like it. Quite the double backflip." "The part where she whacked Whysper was spectacular." "I'd agree, Syl. And she got one of the dummies pretty good too! What a turn of events." "So... did she win?" "Bridge boy, your ignorance regarding the rules is enjoyable, but our time together is at an end. Stay tuned for... what happens next!" Whysper was smacked upside the head! She was a member of Sadeas' Slayers! Elkanah was stabbed! He was a Training Dummy! Chantara has won, and left the arena in honor! She was a member of Sadeas' Slayers! 15. Technically, but it’s the only thing TDs can do and there aren’t RBs so it doesn’t matter. But the TDs can activate their immunity and mark someone on the same cycle.
  16. Cycle Three: Commercial Break *static* *faint musical jingles which promote various food items, fabrials, well-tailored coats, shardblade stands, and axehound care products* *more static* *vigorous flute noises* *even more static* ... "AAAAAND we're back! I hope the reception was good!
