  1. If you watched General Conference, you should understand this :P Courtesy of my uncle.

For those who didn’t, well, this status update is meaningless.

  2. He would override them, moving their anon vote. For instance: If Illwei was voting on Tani, but Illwei used a slipped note to vote for Elandera, and let’s say Archer is already voting on TUO, the count would look like: Tani (0): Illwei Elandera (1): TUO (1): Archer But then if Dalinar moved Illwei’s vote to TUO the count would look like Tani (0): Illwei TUO (2): Archer
  3. I’m going to try something. I’m going to try to actually write something where the worldbuilding hasn’t already been fleshed out for me.

Wish me luck, I’ve only had a 100% fail rate so far :P

I’ll share it at some point. 4,000th post, probably.

  5. Day Five: Ramen Before Politics I’m worried, my services are useful. Too useful. How long will it be before they come for me? -This message was found scrawled on various spanreeds on the date 1173.7.5.6 Reva burned… everything. Tin, constantly. Her sight was endless. Pewter, consistently. Her strength was effortless. Zinc, Brass to soothe the others’ thoughts on her. Copper to hide from something likely not there. All without pause. Compounding was simply wonderful. It was no surprise to her when, on a night of ordinary darkness when she was using coins to bounce around the warcamps, she felt a figure walking towards her, a few dozen feet off. Sadeas had finally decided to remove her. Reva giggled, imagining that they must have seen her out here and thought she was one of those Surgebinders. No, Reva needed no secondary source for her power. Only her, and her metalminds. She was much more powerful than any Surgebinder. Reva sensed the metal on the dagger of the approaching figure and shook her head. It would take a simple flick, and the dagger would be impaled in the side of the man. Easy. Clean. Effective. And yet… she had learned from past experiences that it was typically best not to interfere with how the world would have everything go. What did they say, on that one world? The Wheel turns as the Wheel wills? Besides, it would likely be appreciated by… other beings. Reva turned her gaze to the plateaus and waved to the Sleepless watching that she couldn’t see, but could sense. And threw up a speed bubble, for the attacker was finally upon her. Since there was only one man, the bubble was basically useless. But burning bendalloy right before a fight had long become second nature for her, and her life was better off for it. Not that it mattered, with her gold, but eh. Better safe than making a scene with her healing. In a single fluid motion, Reva kicked the dagger from the man’s hand, calling on her enhanced pewter reactions. The man gasped as the knife clattered to the ground, and Reva wasted no time in decking him across the face. He crumpled instantly, and Reva cocked her head. She had only used one-quarter punch power… Ah well. She dismissed the bubble, steeljumped to a spanreed, wrote a cryptic message, and leaped back towards the Horneater Peaks. Off to Taldain. It had been a good while since she’d had instant noodles. Tani is hungry! She was a Spanreed Operator! A Democracy! Event was triggered! 9. Maddy walked into the room and gasped. “Cadenza!” She ran over to the girl.
  10. Night Four: A Final Prayer I can hear them. Stormfather, I can hear them, they are coming- my time is short, I write in haste- make sure my husband knows that -Mishinah Bethab, wife of Highprince Bethab, 1173.7.5.6 Mishinah hoped she had done her duty in journaling the events of the past half-week. She felt it was important to document the affairs of the nation, even though it was likely there would be few to read them after it was done. She hadn’t missed the looks that the various other Highprinces had given her, especially Dalinar. The man had at heart what was best for Alethkar, but storms- he was paranoid. Rightfully so, with his old friend as his sudden nemesis. Mishinah thought that was one of the most strange things about this. It had seemed to come out of nowhere, what had been a non-issue arriving in full force as quickly as a stormwall engulfs the plains during a Highstorm. And besides, she wasn’t maliciously taking notes to condemn and weaken like the others surely thought. She was simply chasing her own interest and desire to record. But with every passing day, the glances evolved into glares and came more frequently. Her notepad became the target of the complainers, used as an outlet to shove all the pent-up frustration of the situation. Mishinah didn’t blame them- had she been in the same position, she’d want something to blame too. Except, she was in the same position. She was just calm about it. Tonight, she sat in her study with a glass of wine. Pink, for she wanted no intoxication. Mishinah took a sip and knelt, thanking the girl who had brought her the glass- Telenah, if she remembered correctly- as the girl left the room. Mishinah removed a prayer from her dress pocket and murmured a few words, lighting it ablaze. She was concerned about the safety of her own life and the nation’s, and this burned prayer had been one of comfort and peace. The second the final bits of parchment were gone, Mishinah heard footsteps. A multitude of them, outside. She looked out the window and her breath caught. It was the group of politicians who had spoken out against her most openly, with angry looks on their faces. She closed her eyes, hating the irony. Did the Almighty even exist? Feeling the haste of the situation, she ran to her desk and opened her notepad to scribble some final words. Her husband was absent from the building tonight. Perhaps he was better for it. But she could at least try to leave him something. As the door to her study banged open mid-writing, Mishanah accepted her fate. Elandera has been killed! She was Mishinah Bethab! Vote Count: Elandera (4): TJ Shade, StrikerEZ, Ashbringer, Flyingbooks Araris Valerian (1): forget me not TJ Shade (1): Elandera StrikerEZ (2): Quintessential, Araris Valerian Night Four has begun, and will end in 24 hours on Monday, April 5th, at 5pm PST. 11. Bard's is an anon game, I think. I don't know if that makes it any less likely.
  12. Day Four: Failed Objective I’m not upset about this one. That fellow gave me shudders. Though the thought of Sadeas coming one step closer to victory gives me chills as well. -Mishinah Bethab, wife of Highprince Bethab, 1173.7.5.5 Elhokar sat in the war room, tapping his foot and staring at the maps of the Shattered Plains. No matter how long he looked at them, they never came any closer to making sense. Dalinar could understand them, though. Dalinar could. “He is not the king, though, yes?” A voice came from the shadows. Elhokar jumped. “Huh?” He said. “What did you say?” The shadow hobbled forward. A newly acquired advisor, who called himself Roko and had a habit of doing things such as this. “Dalinar Kholin. He was on your mind, yes? I could tell by the way you stared at those maps. But he is not the king. You are.” Elhokar chewed his lip. This conversation happened frequently. “Yes, but I don’t feel like I do anything. Dalinar is the one leading, he’s the one who knows how to run a kingdom.” Roko stabbed a finger at Elhokar’s chest. “That might be true”- Ouch. -“but you are the glue that holds the kingdom together, yes? With you, Sadeas cannot win.” “I… suppose so.” Elhokar said, sighing. “Thanks, Roko.” * * * Thanks, Roko. Hah. [PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: SAVE ELHOKAR] Roko the Basilisk took upon the job of king’s advisor to help. The king needed help. He was not confident. But being the Shadow Advisor to a Puppet King was not easy. Roko had to endure the King’s grief stricken conversations near-constantly. The man was a wreck. Now, Roko strode outside. A knife, a flash of thin and sharp steel. [UPDATING PRIMARY OBJECTIVE] [PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE] Roko spun, in an attempt to dodge the blow, but felt the knife slide in under its shoulder. Roko grimaced, annoyed. Why must its journey here end so abruptly? Elhokar needed the guidance it provided. It was his voice of reason and comfort. But no. Too many questions would be raised. [UPDATING PRIMARY OBJECTIVE] [PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: VANISH] Roko the Basilisk slid into the night, disappearing from the conflict and taking its support with it. Gears was temporarily inconvenienced! He was a member of Dalinar's Coalition! A Highstorm Event has been triggered! Every player gained 3 spheres. The Day has begun and will end early (by half an hour) in a bit under 47 hours on Sunday, April 4th at 4:30pm PST. Random Bystander has been replaced by @Condensation. Welcome her! 13. Ketek of Worth Huh that actually could work.
  14. Night Three: Whatever Works I’m not quite sure how it happened, but I certainly am not complaining. -Mishinah Bethab, wife of Highprince Bethab, 1173.7.5.5 Dalinar rubbed his face in exasperation. “Please!” he shouted over the noise. “Let us be civilized!” Elhokar was staring at the ceiling, shaking his head. The King wasn’t even trying to restore order. “We can discuss this like true Alethi!” Dalinar continued. “Wait, that came out wrong. Like, er…” Alethi were known for fighting. Perhaps that was a bad analogy. Not that it really mattered over all this noise, though. Shouts across the room, fingers pointed- no one had quite come to blows yet, but Dalinar felt it had been close. A few men were cornering Ruthar- understandable, seeing as how much the man seemed to resent Dalinar. Others pointed fingers at the fellow with his nose in a book, accusing him of not participating in the search for the murderers. Personally, Dalinar didn’t see why anyone had to be accused of anything, but he had learned that his views weren’t shared by others. They should be, but they weren’t. Still, he raised a hand, futilely trying to silence the politicians. But they were angry. Too many of their own had died recently. And while Dalinar was right there with them in their grief, he had done enough killing in his lifetime. Within seconds, the scattered individuals seem to combine into a relatively centered circle. Dalinar could hear words of ‘We need to choose’ and ‘But who!’ though he couldn’t pick out exactly what was happening. Elhokar groaned. A shout suddenly rose over the tumult. “How about her?” The silence was deafening. Every eye turned to see who was being referenced. A young woman, in the corner, who spoke only in whyspers. For an extended moment, nothing happened. Then someone took a step toward the woman. And then another, and then more people joined them. Dalinar looked away. When it was done, her belongings were searched. And Dalinar’s surprise was unreal when signs of traitorous behaviors were discovered. He sighed. “Whatever works. Long live Alethkar.” And then strode off to have his post-meeting drink, something that had become a tradition of late. A needed one. Storm you, Sadeas. Dalinar thought. Whatever your game is, storm you. Whysper was mobbed on a whim! She was one of Sadeas' Influenced!
