  1. Craven ran over, a bit of fear escaping into his thoughts. He pushed it aside the best he could and began hacking at the vines, hopefully in a way that wouldn't hit Merl. "Help!"
  2. Craven looked around wildly, though he was less surprised than he would have expected to be. I guess this place is rubbing off on me. He grinned. "Should we kill them?" he said, slashing the tip off a vine that had wound close to his foot. His newly darkened black blade, like obsidian, cleanly cut the vine straight through. Like butter. Woah.
  3. I just enjoyed how many almost meta references were used towards the main timeline. I liked how they paralleled a lot of the important shots with the same/very similar angles as in the original movie and how multiple throwaway lines meant more than just throwaway lines I also thought the narration by the Watcher was an interesting direction to take it, with a fourth-wall breaking character. Lots of firsts for Marvel with this show and I think that's really cool.
  4. Craven was pretty sure he hadn’t ever appeared anywhere in a flash of green light, so at least he knew now with decent certainty he wasn’t a Knight.
  5. Which, unfortunately, are not very good for the digestive system.
  6. Craven nodded, still sort of standing around. He hoped brandishing his sword would ward off the creatures, because he wasn't sure how it would actually pierce them. He likely wouldn't find out, as the others bested the creatures before they could get in reach of him, and he wasn't sure how he felt about that. "I'm Craven." he said the the teleporting girl, Andante. "I'm not new, I just wasn't around recently."
  7. Craven hefted his new sword. A chance to prove himself! He felt considerably safer now that he had a weapon of his own, grateful to the man who had provided it. He also felt safer for the real soldiers around him- someday, he'd be as tall and strong as them.
  8. Ironsides couldn't believe her eyes at the size of the Krell attack. She was used to the Krell rarely varying from their usual numbers when attacking- just enough to be a massive irritation but never so much as to truly wipe Alta off the map. She never had understood why; she was fairly certain the Krell had the numbers to do so. But the fleet of six ships she saw approaching made even less sense. The Krell had to know that the attack was futile. Ironsides smelled a trap, but the attack was still an attack. She radioed into the comm link of an available flight, one of her best. "Shard Flight, I need some fighters for an unusually small skirmish. Who's in?" Welcome to QF55: Battle of Traitors! I will be the GM for this game, and @Araris Valerian will be the IM. Here are the rules for this game, and they're also in doc form: Signups will end in a little over a week on Monday, August 23rd at 7:30AM, PST. The game will begin shortly afterwards with the normal rollover time of 8:00AM PST. I'll be gone camping some of the days during signups but will be back a few days before the game starts. For flavor purposes, this game takes place in an alternate version/timeline of Detritus, before the events of Skyward. RP Characters would benefit from a Callsign. Player List: Spectators: Pinch-Hitters: Quicklinks:
  9. Craven’s eyes went bigger than they ever had. He took the sword gingerly as if he still wasn’t sure it was real. “Awesome…” he mumbled. Craven touched the gem, wondering how it worked. He wanted a black sword with a red crystal, did he need to say it out loud? But as soon as he thought of the color scheme, the sword changed. “Awesome!”
  10. “I can have a sword? A real one?” Craven didn’t like needles, though, so he didn’t mention the blood test. He looked over at the door where Fadran and Martin had left to. He hoped they’d be back soon so they could go. Though, turning back to the Knight and the other guy, Craven decided he was content to watch this action for a little while.
  11. “Oh.” Craven said. “I don’t think I’m that kind of spirit.” He would know if he was, right?
  12. Alright, is anyone opposed to me just taking the slot? It's been a few days and we haven't heard from anyone here, but I'm happy to keep waiting if that'd be better.
  13. ...I just did too. Like a week ago. (Also recommended, even if I found it... confusing at times ) Double huh.
  14. I don't know okay, this is my problem, I say something like that but end up voting wrong anyway xD I don't trust my own gut. Maybe I should. I keep saying that :P. That was nice validation for me since I had been confused why I was the only one who seemed to be concerned about that, or at least was the most concerned. But I didn't know at the time it was as close as 7-6 that one Day o.o I don't think you'll ever have a Quiet RPful game, Kas I think you've played/ran more games since retirement than you did before.
  15. Thanks Steel for running this! It was a lot of fun. Looking at the Master Sheet and the identities- Drought played, that's cool And Ostrich going inactive makes more sense now, but that's all I'll say about that... I correctly guessed Striker, Kas, Archer, Sart, Szeth, Ash, Devo, I think Lotus, maybe some others, but everyone else I couldn't tell, so nice job. I had fun with my more formal talk at the start of the game and maybe wish I'd kept it up longer, since I'm pretty sure everyone knew who I was by the end Can I just say- I could not figure this game out. My head was so convinced on a 5p team that I only based my suspicions late-game on that. Outside of the numbers, though, Elandera in particular played really well. Both her and Striker I gut read elim but could not for the life of me point to anything in their posts that supported that, so I largely relented the read. It's a painful reminder of why I like gut reads so much though All the elims played really well, too. I read TUO as village for most of the game as well, and there wasn't even a gut elim to accompany that. More incorrect reads of mine include (but are not limited to) Stick, Jon, Drought, Danex/WhoeverSubbedIn, and more. Oh well, at least I got Kas, Archer, and Devo right
  16. Craven almost asked if he could tag along, but realized he knew the probable answer to that question, so he didn't say anything except "Nope!"
  17. Terms and conditions? Craven thought. That sounded like work. Craven raised his hand. “Can I go with Martin?”
  18. Craven had considered giving himself a new name multiple times- more than he'd like to admit. It didn't seem like something that was right to do, or made sense. But it was more than that. If he wasn't Craven anymore, then he wouldn't have any reason to be brave. He'd have nothing to prove. "No." He said.
  19. Craven nodded thoughtfully. "I'm a good walker, too." Craven's eyes got wider with every word. A grown-up actually letting him do something? Amazing! "Yay! I'm Craven, though I don't like that name."
  20. "A lot!" Craven said, then frowned, remembering how he had cowered in a corner during the last attack. No, not cowering. Self-preservation. "Camelia gave me 50 Breaths, too!" He continued, forcing his usual smile back on.
  21. Craven poked his head into the building just in time to hear the word revolution. All hesitancy he harbored instantly vanished. "Revolution? Can I join?"
