Thousands of years ago, the Emperor of Traxia was dethroned after his myriad of tyrannical rule. In his place, 18 guilds were formed. Each of these guilds put together now held all the political power of Traxia and are known collectively as The Imperium. The head rulers of these guilds, known as Archons, are the 18 most powerful figures in Traxia. While political power is a common goal for each of these guilds, they also have their own individual agendas. As an Archon, it is up to you to advance the power of your own guild, while at the same time trying to keep the other guilds from advancing as well.
Your primary goal as Archon is to secure as much political power as possible. Traxia is currently split into 100 regions, known as sublets. Each of these sublets has an Elector. These Electors are the ones who make the final decision on any political policy and law. There are currently policies and laws in place determining the procedure that the Electors have to take. The one problem, or benefit for the guilds, is that these Electors are bribable, and bribery among Electors is perfectly legal. So, in order to secure political power and have as much control as possible over what policies and laws are passed, the guilds with more political power are the ones who essentially 'control' the most Electors.
In addition to politics, each guild has a personal agenda they are trying to advance. As the guilds have existed for thousands of years, these agendas are not a secret among the different guilds.
In the RP, each person would be one of these Archons. I'm still fleshing out the idea, but wanted to see what the interest level was before completely commiting.
Things that would still need to be figured out before we start:
- The actual number of guilds
- Each guild name, and their personal agenda
- What the current policies and laws in effect are, and the proccess for changing/adding new ones. In world these are decided by Electors, but because different guilds control a different number of Electors, you basically have a vote equal to the number of Electors you control. We'll have to decide how to choose how many Electors each guild controls at the start of the RP.
- If we want to have a form of currency (most likely to be used for bribing of Electors/other guilds)
- probably some other things I'm not thinking of rn
So...thoughts?
