Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Condensation replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'll try not to. Murder is bad even if it's for a good cause. Can I get a vote count? Because that's either... 3 or 4 votes on me. @Ookla Fell From The Sky- 1329 replies

Cadenza didn't want to wake up. If she woke up, she'd have to remember and face everything that had happened, and she didn't think she was ready for that. She just wanted to sleep... and sleep... and sleep... until it had all fixed itself. That didn't seem like a possibility, though, so she made herself open her eyes. Everything hit her like a speeding bullet: the brightness of the lights, her pounding headache, her actual bullet wound. She gritted her teeth and dealt with it.

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Condensation replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I guess that's true, but I'm often more Kant than Bentham. In my opinion, if the action is moral then the outcome doesn't matter. Bentham is the ends justify the means. It still seems kind of useless to me. I seem to remember bringing it up before, although that could be just me. The reason I brought it up now is because I've had three games where it happened. There's an old Celtic saying that covers it. One man may be deceit. Two can be conspiracy. Three is the number I trust.(Props if you get the reference!) And another saying: Three's a crowd. When it happened the first and second time, there was still a possibility that they were outliers. Three is often my line, no matter what it's for. Quote unquote spectated. Occasionally they would come to me, explain a bit of the situation and their plans, and I would advise them on how to act since I'm good at acting innocent.- 1329 replies

"Let's get working!" Harmony smiled widely. Scient donned a bright white outfit and two pistols, also grabbing a white parachute. Konna did like to make a statement.

Wait, if C1 stands for Cycle One, then what's D1? Because I thought I saw people using that. It can be right, but it's unlikely. And information... based on reads of the dead person? No one has concrete reads C1 but the elims, who already know who each other are.- 1329 replies

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar

Viola-daughter-Condensation sighed. Despite her efforts to help in the ways she knew how, she had garnered more suspicion than previously. It was a shame, but first guesses were often wrong. She went walking in a field, shoes sinking softly into the soil that allowed Shinovar to be so unlike the rest of Roshar. It helped her think. After a couple of hours, she found a hopeful solution. If she could only keep from being lynched this one cycle, perhaps she could chat privately with some of the others. She might even be able to find someone to trust, although sometimes it took a while. Her thoughts turned to other matters. Her sister, Connie, had recently sent her a letter. She'd survived not one but two assassination attempts and was planning to come visit after a little bit on Scadrial. Viola grinned, looking forward to it. She'd have to make sure she could get out if the others decided she wasn't trustworthy. She returned to the main area, finding that what she had said earlier had made others even more suspicious and two of them had already decided that she should be ejected. The others could soon follow. She decided that this was a good thing without too much indecision. Okay, maybe I'm overreacting a little bit. It's only two votes on me. Then again, I'm fairly certain people have been lynched with less. I have used the advice. It's handy even if Gears is an elim because they can't post anything too obviously elim, so I can trust it fairly well. When I was a Hemalurgist(that was actually Viola as well), it kept me alive until the end(when the elims won). Wouldn't it be better to refrain from voting first cycle unless we have really good evidence? It's always been wrong in my games, and the chance of them actually being an elim are slim. And I think I might get to that point, but I'm currently in a stage where I want to know and plan starting right when I sign up. I haven't done an extensive study of the rules, but I know my way around them pretty well. Edit: Illwei, it may seem pretty obvious, but it certainly hasn't been followed well in my past games. If we don't kill anyone D1, we still have time to think and we can find better evidence.- 1329 replies

"Fine, whatever. Come on, let's hurry up." @I Am A Fish
-
"They send us running. Not that they could catch us, we are both Amal, but it'll still happen."
-
"And you'll be able to tell them this when? Before or after?"
-
"You're welcome." Minuet led the way to the market, where she peered over the heads of the crowd.
-
"Um, kind of? Maybe? So you and Pior will be safe. What about Val and me?"
-
If I were you, I wouldn't go for something scientific sounding. It's far more likely to be named by the people it would prey on, and those are usually poor people with little knowledge of science, I assume.

"Why can't they?"
-
"People change. Whatever, we can go to your town full of people who will try to kill us on sight. But I'll be the first to say 'I told you so' when we're running rapidly away from them."
-
"What about the people who live there and will ostensibly try to kill us? Don't they know how to get in?"

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Condensation replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Actually, whenever I've played with Gears it's really helpful to me since I'm a fairly new player. I enjoy seeing their thoughts about everything, even if sometimes I don't agree with them. I also think it's kind of unfair to vote someone because they were doing something they do every time and likely trying to help. Reads(albeit mild because c'mon, this is only cycle one): Everyone's kind of tunneling on Gears. While it is true that they could be elim, we don't have any good evidence that they are. I think part of this is because they did this giant post like they usually do, so everyone has things that they find suspicious. Gears totally could be an elim. I'm not saying that they are or aren't. All I'm saying is that we need to expand our horizons. People are saying they didn't read the rules. This is kind of suspicious to me, why wouldn't you read the rules slowly and carefully if you know you'll be joining and playing? In my thinking, this seems like a valid excuse to them for not posting. So far, Gears has shown the (second) most knowledge about the rules/roles and Mat and Illwei have said that they need to reread the rules. These are also the only two people who replied to my "Be more cautious in voting" post, although the "in voting" was implied. Mat is reading Illwei as Null. This is just me shoving a bunch of random data together, in case you couldn't tell.- 1329 replies
