  1. If the line gets too long, I'll get sweaty, this is the climax of the hole-y book.
  2. Knight works very well as a last name, I think, otherwise you can use my first name. Or cameo somewhere else. Also I should continue reading after chapter one, shouldn't I? Hm. I'll find time.
  3. Cruz watched both parties with interest, not feeling the greatest. He realized he would probably be answering questions from both Ms. Delacroix and Mr. Edgeworth, and he did not look forward to that at all.
  4. If the sentence gets too long, I'll get sweaty, this is the climax of the book.
  5. "But none of you know the importance of the quest you're on, and it could end realms if you did."
  6. "A daunting task indeed, but I first must locate this dragon," he said, "I am not sure if I intend to remain with this group any longer."
  7. Exodus shrugged. "To stop the end of the world."
  8. "Of course," said Exodus, "I understand. And I don't suppose you know anything about the end of the world, now, do you?"
  9. "Then why are you here? Got something to prove? Somewhere to hide?"
  10. "So, what I really don't get, is why any of you are invested into this quest. What does your prophecy even mean to you? It tells you nothing!"
  11. "Are they expecting to kill it?" he asked, surprised.
  12. "Funny how that happens," he replied, "But your skillset seems almost wasted here."
  13. Exodus grunted. "You're good at it," he responded, "I can see why they strung you along on their silly quest."
  14. Exodus stepped out onto the roof. Why anyone would want to be up here, he didn't know, but there was a nice view of the land below. "Where'd you learn to fight, kid?" he called to Minuet.
  15. "I can let you think about it," Exodus said, "Think about me when your state of existence begins to show signs of fading." He walked off from Avren and the others and went in search of a person, to the last place he had seen her. @Condensation
  16. @The Ward's Guard
  17. "Courage is not what you think," he said, casually opening a small bag as he spoke, "It's not lack of fear. It's doing what must be done despite all the fear." He pulled out an object from the bag, which upon closer examination proved to be a kind of... circular cake, of some type? "You have that courage, Avren," he continued, "even if you don't think you do."
  18. "You're hunting a dragon, for one thing, but the nature of the prophecy is much greater than that. The fate of the realms hangs on it. Yes, this group is talented, I have tested that myself. But none possess the virtues... the heroism that is needed."
  19. Exodus nodded. He had begun to realize now that not a single one of these adventurers knew what they were doing or specifically where they were going. That made them much less of a threat. "You don't know, do you?" he said, "That's fine, Avren, neither do they. These people seem nice, but your leader does not know what he is doing or getting into." He paused. "I do. And I'm afraid I can't stay with this group too much longer. If you seek a true hero's quest, you would be welcome to come."
  20. Plant care? "Ah..." said Exodus, "Plants. Of course. You must have a plant. And... why have you joined this quest?"
  21. "Avren..." he mused, then glanced down at the book he had. "And what book is that?"
  22. Exodus turned, annoyed, but found the kid who was responsible for the scar in his neck. He immediately brought his hand up to it out of reflex, but causally recovered. Maybe he hadn't noticed. "Watch where you're going," he said smoothly, "...and what was your name?"
