Her words hurt Cavalier more than he would ever show, more than she would ever know, but he refused to show weakness. Someone had to be strong, and dang it, if it had to be him than it had to be him. He wanted to speak words of comfort, of peace, but doubted it would help. It didn't seem like anything that Cavalier did would make things better, and so he did the only thing he did best. He left. He snuck out of the cave entrance, using the deep snow for cover, found a vantage point outside the cave, and watched the skies.

"Oh, please. Are you telling me that the ironclads crawling up this mountain would never have noticed the dragon at the top? Besides, Snowy used their catapult first. Now, QUIT your crying and help me to DO SOMETHING to help her!"

"We'd still be out there if it wasn't for me! And Phaedrus isn't going to die to some dumb ironclads," said Cavalier. He hoped it was true. He had underestimated the firepower of the ironclads.

"No, but you're the one whining about it all," said Cavalier, holding back tears of his own, "I made a mistake but at least I'll be getting us out of it."

"I care about Phaedrus," said Cavalier, "And Phaedrus would want us to stay safe." "Mm, I'd love to, but we cannot. Ironclads wave around sharp iron things, its too risky."

"No," said Cavalier, "The cave is just fine. I found a kippy in the cave that tried to eat me." He gestured towards the kippy. @Merciful

"I found a cave kippy," said Cavalier, "Who tried to eat me."

Cavalier nodded. "Vicious little kid, he is."

"I don't know, there's kind of an epic fire dragon battle raging in the snowy mountains outside, so we were a little busy." Cavalier leads Ernie to the small little crevice. "Now, see, you just fit through here... like... this!" He said triumphantly.

"No, it's squishy. Oh, I guess you don't have many squishy things down here. I just meant it's tight. Come on, I'll show you."

"Sure," Cavalier said, "But I should be getting back to my friends soon. They're very scared, and we're in hiding."

"OKA–"Cavalier started, but his throat was getting scratchy, so he stopped. "Wanna play a game or something?"

"I'M DOING NOT SO GOOD, THANK YOU!"

"Cavalier the Cavalier," he boomed louder, voice echoing a surprising amount for such a cave. Then, he cleared his throat. "How are you today?"

"What's your name, valiant ironkippy?"

Cavalier ignores the pain and uses the momentum of his leap to swing the cave monster into the cave wall. "For Koid!!" he cries.

Cavalier bares his teeth. "Bring it on, then!" He reared up on his legs and pounced.
