  1. "I didn't," Stephen said unhelpfully. "I just got here. Sorry, I didn't have too much time to do any research before I left here." "Hello, Maros! I'm Lord Stephen, of Iaron."
  2. "Hmm, what was that all about?" asked Stephen, who had just been standing nearby and watching.
  3. "I'm the leader of this quest. I'm not letting just anyone join us. We're currently not even available for openings."
  4. "...I see. Well, what of your abilities? Your skills? Any good in a fight?" Exodus asked, a bit impatiently.
  5. "Well, that's good," said Exodus, "Any reason in particular you followed after us? Perhaps the grand lure of adventure, of venturing into the unknown and salvaging what is left of reality? Or any other reason?"
  6. "...are they okay?"
  7. Exodus nodded. "As are they, though we're a bit faster at it. At that tower, the call to adventure falls on deaf ears."
  8. Stephen cleared his throat and threw his sword onto his back, taking in his surroundings. There sure were a fair amount of people here. He didn't really want to do any fighting for the inhabitants of this world, not yet anyway. "I... I'm looking for someone," he mumbled, unsure if it was a good time.
  9. "Ah, wonderful. Why are you here? Are they in trouble?"
  10. "Uh, hello there?" called Exodus. "You... didn't run all the way from the others, did you?"
  11. "Yeah, some of them seem kinda shaped like pigs, big pointy hills, and even dragons."
  12. Stephen glanced around at the group. "Well, I didn't expect to see this when I came through. Gee, you guys could sure use some help."
  13. "Ah, yeah, certainly! If you tilt your head like this"—Cavalier flopped down sideways onto the ground—"then it looks kinda like a chicken! The eighth most recognizable mountain."
  14. "Would you look at that, mountains!" Cavalier said, "Well, the ones we're going to, anyway."
  15. Exodus turned to one of the orcs and plucked a ten-foot battle axe from its hands. He felt drained, but alright. He probably could've handled that little trick better if he had Alaxis with him. "Well then, we ought to get moving again."
  16. The hoppy happy hippy hippo who gets too disappointed and writes horrible rom-com comics and is confused at the unending future of the Radiant Sharders (plus their bloodthirsty kittens) is named Andrew.
  17. As soon as they were out of reach of the attack, Exodus let go of the ball of light, and for about five long seconds the entire world became, simply, soft white light. It slowly dissipated, and in a large circle around Exodus, all the orcs stood, unmoving. Not because of respect, or any other thing of men, but because they could not. Their hands were shielding their eyes and their bodies were scrambling away from where Exodus now stood—and they remained absolutely frozen. Exodus turned back to Ara and Minuet and spread out his arms. "How's that?"
  18. "Ah. I see. Anything I can help to take care of?" Stephen lifts a shortsword. Nothing about it seems special.
  19. A circular portal opens up, lined with a glowing white outline, and a young man with dark, wavy brown hair steps out, dressed in a knight's uniform. "Fear not!" he cried, "For I am Lord Stephen, of Iaron!"
  20. Exodus traced some final guiding etchings into his sprawling art piece, then placed his hand in the center of the shining lines. Their glow traveled across the lines towards his hands, creating a small, blinding ball of light where his hand touched the grass. "Run!" he yelled, "Get as far away as you can!" @Condensation@JesterLavorre Orpheus stood in silence and tears formed in the corner of his eye. "He's... dead."
