  1. "Darn this," he cursed, catching her. It'd be another minute before death, so Cruz had to act quick. He grabbed her by her shoulders and closed his eyes, drawing all of his own energy, and pushing it into Janice in the form of an immensely supercharged magical immune system, immediately vaporizing the venom from her system and healing the cut on her arm as if it never were there. He felt a blast of agonizing pain, and the drawbacks of his Aspect—hunger, thirst, lack of energy—began to kick in. He collapsed to the ground, fading in and out of consciousness. "Granola bar...?"
  2. "Janice... sometime soon would be a great time to explode... that was the plan, right?"
  3. I don't like the art style, animation style, anime tropes/cliches, or most voices. Similar to how one can dislike Minecraft and then inherently dislike the content of hundreds of thousands of Minecraft streamers.
  4. "Probably not, as they're pretty exclusive to my world," Professor X said, "But that gets into the definition of what a Pokémon is. Pretty much any creature with inherent fantastical powers not demonstrated by most other animals, such as the manipulation of elements or aspects of life. Which is much too broad a definition, but we go with it. They end up getting very powerful sometimes, and they're easily captured in Pokéballs, which bring us to our next point." He clicked a button on the remote and the screen changed to a picture of several Pokéballs of different types and colors, however they were mostly red. "The Pokéball is a device which, upon thrown, encapsulates and transfers physical matter into energy storage, almost a pocket dimension of sorts. The Pokémon can resist this, but if they're weak, injured, or otherwise debilitated, they're less effective at it. They're inherently programmed not to work on humans, and it's nearly impossible to capture something that already has a bond." He glanced around the table. "Any questions so far?"
  5. The man chuckled. "Don't know how it'll turn out, but alright!" He slid a bowl of grapes and nuts over to her. "That work?"
  6. Lane hid his excitement, keeping his cool facade up. "My friend's been to the Underworld before," he said casually, "Probably I could just ask him to bring me back anyways. Not like I'm prone to dying or anything. Uh, anyways. Sorry."
  7. "Almost fifteen," he said quickly. "But I've had plenty of experience with adventuring, and rescuing, and whatnot." Well, it was partly true. He'd done it once.
  8. Lane's arms dropped, and he seemed a bit disappointed. He threw on a backpack, then came running up beside them. "I've have plenty of experience dealing with gods!" the young teen repeated. "Plus, I've got a baseball bat!"
  9. Cruz rolled his eyes at the kid's comment on his fangs. "She's... I don't know." He looked desperately to Janice for direction. Stars, peer pressure was tough to deal with. "She's still got a few minutes left..." he straightened.
  10. "They can, but I'm not typically fond of biting people."
  11. Lane appears again, in yet another flash of green light, nearby Jek. This time, he carried no Rubik's cubes, but a metal baseball bat. He brushed back his hair that had fallen over his eyes, and smiled. "I've got quite the experience dealing with gods," he said, "I'm the grandson of one!"
  12. "Sounds about right. Just... stay with us..." "Ask her! I think she wanted to explode first." "It's snake venom, I secrete it from some oral glands in my fangs."
  13. "Janice, how are you holding up?" Cruz asked. It wouldn't be much longer before the venom made its way into the brain.
  14. As they came down the stairs, Exodus noticed that the tavern was empty, which made sense considering the early hour. It was almost eerily quiet, with just the crackling of the cozy fireplace. The barkeeper, gently sweeping the floor with a broom, looked up at them and smiled. "Early risers? Can't say I don't blame ya," he said quietly, so as not to wake anyone, yet still cheerfully. "What'd you young folks like to have, today?" "Can't speak for my comrades," Exodus started, shaking the old man's hand, "But I'd request an ancient, foreign delicacy of my people." The man pushed in a chair and walked behind the counter, where he leaned the straw broom against the wall. He placed both hands on the table and leaned forward. "What I can do will depend on what this delicacy requires," he said. "You mean, how much gold I got on me." He grinned. "That, too." Exodus grabbed a few coins from a pouch hanging from his belt and set them on the table. "Thin, circular layer of dough. Cover it with a tomato soup, of sorts, and cover all that in shredded cheese. Couple spots of sliced pork, then we throw it in the oven. Think you can do that?" The barkeeper pocketed the coins and nodded. "Sounds easy enough, though it might take me a bit." He looked to the girls. "And what'd you young ladies have to eat?" @JesterLavorre @Condensation Orpheus thought about it. "I don't know, like four to eight people, or something. And we'll visit the graveyard before we go," he added. @Isabelle6060 @Channelknight Fadran
  15. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  16. Stephen rubbed his chin, thinking. "I've not much experience with gods. What kind of expertise would such a mission require?" He wondered if he could send any of the Knights—or, heck, send himself.
  17. If this gets made we’re gonna need ideas, art, 3D models, etc. There are many ways one can contribute.
  18. Odin’s jaw dropped a bit, and he looked at her in a mixture of disbelief and shock. Perhaps he’d been mistaken for someone else? But no, how could he have? She wasn’t literally talking to an old beggar. He nearly declined, but he wasn’t a fool. Or, more to the point, he was. “Yes,” he whispered, “That’d... be good.”
  19. Odin looked to the girl in wonder. "I have no money," he said kindly, "No place to call my own. And I don't deserve either of those things. So, not doing too bad, I'd say." He chuckled, his eyes filled with sadness.
  20. Considering I’m starving, yes. TPBM has eaten and enjoyed foreign country-exclusive candies. (Mmm... like Canada...)
  21. I’d have to like 70% agree with you there, only anime I accept is the Pokémon one and maybe something else I’m not remembering.
