  1. "It was glorious," he remarked. "Say, do you happen to sell a sandwich with a pretty big pickle in it?"
  2. "Probably," Kreshnik agreed. "But unfortunately I'm not much use in a battle. I can turn into a bat, though, which is fun!"
  3. "I'm had hundreds of years experience not dying, I'm not about to stop anytime soon."
  4. "It doesn't really matter. Being on fire kills most people anyways, so I figure, why should I have to be extra scared of it?"
  5. "I don't know," Knight answered, shrugging. "I could bring it back, though!" The frog sat up, just fine. It was an invincible frog.
  6. "Let's... just get out of here."
  7. He knocked on the door. As expected, there wasn't any answer. But Neon still thought it'd be polite. He kicked open the door and took a step into the cell. "Quite roomy," he commented to the captive inside. Some young girl. Of course it'd be a young girl. There was a voice behind him. "You!?" He turned and smiled big. "Nice to finally meet you!" The man with the spiky, lavender hair with an insane glint in his eye smiled at him. "Nice to finally meet you!" Kacen had heard of this man. A man who completely under the radar to even the smarter civilizations, a man whose existence was only a myth to the average worldhopper—or, at least, those who hadn't bought from him. A man who went by only one name to his buyers. Apex. Neon Apex. The cosmere salesman. He almost laughed at the thought that Apex thought he could steal from him, from the Master. Three foot-long spikes impaled themselves into the wall behind him, giving him a platform he could Push off of. And he smiled. "You can forget your plans for this girl," Neon called. "I know the scope of this organization." The man Neon knew as Kacen just kept smiling. "If only you did. Your mind is too limited to understand its true scope." Neon shook his head. "This ship is Scadrian, no? But it's not! It's not from this world. And neither is your organization. And neither is this girl." He gestured to the captive. Kacen faltered. "Is she what you came for? Really?" Neon shrugged. "She'd make a fine addition to my collection. And I hear a certain Venten is after her. You seem to have failed spectacular at getting any weapon designs from him, unfortunately, or I'd be here for those, too. Good luck keeping this ship afloat, though." With that, he grabbed the girl and Pushed off of Kacen's spikes, heading straight backwards through the wall, and sent the two of them hurling out over the ocean of beads. Kacen cursed, but his spikes he had placed were through the wall now, no longer having any footing. He ran to the hole that Apex had made and shot several spikes in their direction. The man was an idiot! To his surprise, he saw no one out there. Apex might have some powers, but he was ultimately just a salesman... right? He must've fallen straight into the beads beneath. Before Kacen could do anything else, a giant and much larger BOOOOM rocked the ship, and it took a direct nosedive into the ocean.
  8. Kacen ran below the deck. Was this Venten and his group already? He smiled. At least he had another chance to kill them again. The ship continued in a slow motion, spiraling fall. They had some time, but he did not want to get stuck under the beads. Then there wouldn't be an escape. "Get this ship back in the air!" he shouted. "Where did the explosion come from?" "Someone's inside the ship!" an engineer shouted back. "In the engine room!" Kacen cursed and ran down the stairs, spikes ready. Neon walks down the corridor, laughing to himself, a path of dead lying in his wake. His dress shirt had managed to remain impeccable, which was perfect. He Awakened his tie, whispered its Command, and tossed it at the final remaining guard. It wrapped around his neck and he fell to the ground, choking. Neon joined in on the fun, kicking him, positively delighted at his suffering. The man fell still. Neon kicked him one last time for good measure, then gently approached the room that this captive was staying at...
  9. Odin begins walking along the trail.
  10. Ely randomly transformed from a fox to a polar bear, and changed pace to fall back to where they were talking. "Ice, someone said? I'm Ely."
  11. Kacen stood near the front of the airship, two guards by his side. He stared into the ocean of beads, pondering. Something about him felt different, but he couldn't quite place a finger on it. He heard the sound of footsteps running across the deck behind him, and he turned around to see a messenger walking up to him. "What is it?" "Sir! We... might have a situation." Kacen growled. "What is it?" he repeated. An explosion rocked the airship as it started to spin, losing altitude, dropping towards the sea of beads below.
  12. Alright, fair enough, thanks for the answer. Now I just don't understand exactly a sto why Breaths do dissipate when people die.
  13. The barkeeper hesitated, but took the coins. "Hopefully no one else will need any..." Roy just rushed back behind the door to fetch more meat. Exodus stood up from the table. "Farewell, Arik Wolfson. Perhaps we will meet again." He began to leave through the front door, waving to the barkeeper as he left. @Condensation @JesterLavorre
  14. This probably has been talked about before, sorry. BioChromatic Breath, I think, clearly utilizes the Cosmere mechanic of Identity. Your Breaths can be retrieved only by yourself. In other words, those Breaths are "keyed" to someone. Through certain words and intent, they can be keyed to other people (aka giving Breaths away). If you die without giving away any of your Breaths, I theorize that they become unkeyed and therefore rejoin Endowment's pool of Investiture to be essentially recycled. I think I'm on the right track with this, right? My question/theory/hypothetical is with storing Identity. Let's just say that some random Feruchemist named Sazed is storing Identity. Some girl named Vivenna with an amount of Breaths places a hand on his shoulder and says, "My life to yours my breath become yours." Her Breaths, which were keyed to her, would try and be keyed to Sazed. But Sazed has no Identity, so I think that they'd become unkeyed and just dissipate. Is this a reasonable assumption? Similarly, let's say Sazed wasn't storing Identity and received the Breaths. He invests a clock, he retrieves the breath. So far, so good. Now... he stores Identity. Does all Breath he holds become unkeyed and dissipate? Or, wait... would he still hold the Breath but not be able to use it?? Now I'm confused. Now if this Sazed invests a clock with most/all his Breaths, then stores all Identity, does all the Breath dissipate or simply cannot be retrieved? And, hypothetically, if some random dude called—I don't know, Kelsier—ran Sazed the Awakener through with a sword, with no Identity-shenanigans, but he had invested the clock... would the Breaths be trapped in the clock, unable to be used, or would they dissipate? As you can see, I am confused. Discuss, please?
  15. "I've never been to Earth, so I wouldn't know," Ely replied, still a fox.
  16. Denis, unintentionally, ignored her, still glorying over the root beer. "You know, where I come from, a friend of mine produced these by the masses."
  17. He took the glass of root beer carefully and took a sip, then coughed a bit into his coat. "It's been far too long since I've last drank of such a glorious beverage."
  18. Denis smiled. "I'll have as much as I'm allowed. Let's just start with a glass or two."
  19. Thia was somehow the collective idea of the entirety of TLT until that point, and so was immensely powerful.
  20. Exodus stared at Arik, meeting his eyes steadily. "We're off to visit a relative, it's not really your business." He was pretty sure he would've overheard their conversation, but not enough that he'd know they were lying. Tʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ɪs ᴇɴᴅɪɴɢ, ɪɴ, ʟɪᴋᴇ, ᴀ ᴄᴏᴜᴘʟᴇ ᴡᴇᴇᴋs. "Well, we only have a couple weeks before the world ends, according to... my... um. Friend." A wave of embarrassment, shock, and horror hit him anew as he realized that his secret was out. He'd a bond with a demon. He began to step towards the library, eager to get out of there.
