So I already gave you guys a status update earlier today talking about how annoying my school currently is, but that was before my free period.

As you might recall, lunch was heavily organized. All the tables seat one occupant apiece and reside six feet apart, leaving no room for conversation. After lunch period is over, all the inmates are lined up against the wall so that the tables can be cleansed of their filth. During that time, you can actually talk with the others... or bleed Nike symbols onto a whiteboard. Either one works.

Class would be more or less normal if not for an incredibly stupid rule: you have to be on the Google Meet regardless of whether you're in the real classroom or not. Due to the lack of internet today and yesterday, we haven't had to do that yet, but I imagine we will tomorrow. I have fear, friends.

It's the free periods that are the worst, however. Not only does it take place in the same room as lunch (single-occupant tables all six feet apart), but the following rules have been enforced as well:

• Assigned seating, for no conceivable reason I could imagine.
• No talking with anyone else AT ALL.
• The only thing you're allowed to do during this period is your homework. If you finish that, then you have two options: pretend you have more homework and be incredibly sneaky, or just sort of stare at the wall for an hour

The lunch/free period room is run by two faculty members. One passed out candy during lunch; the other is establishing martial law.
