  1. ...okay, so are we gonna talk about how every anime's OP4 is the weakest?

Except Fullmetal Alchemist (Full m e t a l    a LcHemiST), which is perfect and can do no wrong

    but like:

    • Attack on Titan - Red Swan. This one's pretty polarizing among the fandom but like... why? It's garbage compared to the absolute   B A N G E R S  that this show has put out. The only one that can be somewhat comparable-ish to this level of underwhelming-ness would be My War; I can see why some people like it, but Deathcore Black Metal just isn't my jam.
      • Side note: We all know Sasageyo is The Best and Guren no Yumiya is the most iconic, but like... why do people sleep on Jiyuu no Tsubasa that song goes SO hard
    • Jujutsu Kaisen - SPECIALZ. I don't think it's controversial to say while the anime has been balling in the music department overall, its OPs have all slowly regressed from The Epic that was Kaikai KitanVivid Vice had a kind of weird semi-emotional thing going on, and Ao no Sumika was pretty decent with its main guitar stuff; but SPECIALZ seemed way too Modern US Pop-y for my taste.
      • Side note: LOST IN PARADISE IS THE BEST ENDING PIECE TO EVER EXIST IN ANYTHING
    • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - End of The World. Granted, I haven't even come close to finishing this series yet, and only just heard this OP for the first time; however, upon realizing that it was OP 4, I was like... wait. Why is it always OP 4? Why? But anyway, it was just kinda lame compared to the absolute bangers we've had coming into this.
      • Side note: If you want to watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and know nothing about it - keep it that way. Watch the show blind. Know nothing. Learn everything organically. It is insane and I love it.
    • Demon Slayer - Okay, so... there are a few ways you can look at this. There are technically four OPs so far, but not everyone watched the Mugen Train arc episodically, because they (like myself) went for the movie release instead. It has much less personal value to me, and thus I went in expecting to have to disclaim this one but... I dunno, maybe it's pretty good actually?? Still definitely a competition between Akeboshi and Kizuna no Kiseki for... okay, I'll be the first to admit this show's a little overrated, but the music is SO GOOD, so saying "worst" is like trying to pick a least favorite Hans Zimmer soundtrack; but as for which one ultimately falls shortest of Gurenge and ESPECIALLY Zankyou Sanka is kind of up to preference.

    Animes that don't count:

    • Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - did you know that every goddamn song in this entire show is a slappin' masterpiece? And I mean all of them. Heck, FMAB's OP4 might be my favorite of the lineup.
    • Hunter x Hunter - this one technically has (I think) six OPs, but they're literally all the exact same song with slightly different lyrics so WHO CARES
      • Side note: the song in question is also a banger
    • Dunno - Do let me know where else this assessment falls short.

ah! no! I can't write today

      I love fmab!

      Spoiler

Though I disagree, the 1st op is definitely the best from fmab, not the 4th one

First is most Iconic for sure

I am now going to listen through the full versions of all five, so as to formulate a more educated opinion

  2. About half a minute left. The shadows were nearly gone. Nayla touched her cheek, drawing away blood - but it didn't hurt much anymore. It would probably scar over, sooner or later. There were some tears there, too. Where had those come from? Surely, she'd endured worse pain before... though it occurred to her that this was actually the very first time she'd been wounded by a lightsaber blade. There was Cloud, rushing back in... him, Reeli, Aria, Pucky. Fighting almost seemed second nature to them; like a tool in their belt, instead of a weapon locked away. She'd been told, of course, about the responsibilities that Jedi Knights held, but it had been so many years since the galaxy had seen war. Nayla had almost convinced herself that it wasn't something she'd ever see. Meanwhile, Krarik's movements whistled into near-incomprehensible speed. He barely hid his Intent at all anymore, opting instead to simply overwhelm his enemies with sheer force.
  3. "I think you're nice. I'm glad I met you." The Assassin was growing furious. Feisyyd could feel it now - somehow, he actually seemed a little unhinged. Weakness had crept into his mind. "And Aria is too." He thought he'd have defeated us by now... this wasn't a part of his plan. "She always said nobody should be lost; so she's happy you found us." Six strikes; both blades, thrice. A flurry of whirling light. Feisyyd matched with a cavalcade of her own, barely matching her breathing to the obscene ferocity of his movements. If his attacks stayed like this... no. They couldn't win. Not at this rate. Of course three days hadn't been enough. It could never have been enough.
  4. "...Cloud." Meanwhile, Krarik had begun to more rapidly zip in and out of shadow. The casts were shortening. "...Are you going to leave?"
  5. "I don't want to be brave." Red, white, black, green; all flashed across their faces as the sun neared its apex.
  6. “But I’m not brave like you.”
  7. Jujutsu Kaisen: *exists* Me:
  8. Oh hey I missed some days apparently Here’s Fortune: and here’s Wander: I didn’t do Spicey because like what the hexkk are you supposed to do for Spicey I’m not gonna do it
  9. A blade slashed up at Pucky's chin, then moments later vanished with Krarik. He reappeared inches away, turned about, to send another barrage of black and red at the assailants. "...I don't want to fight."
  10. Nayla shook her head. This time, he appeared just behind Reelwiron, blade already halfway through a strike.
  11. "It hurts..." They were running too low on time. Yes, making it to noon would seriously hinder this Assassin, but with how efficiently he remained holding his own... they might not even be capable of defeating him then. She finally began to ask herself the question of last resort: could he even be defeated?
  12. Nayla had crumpled into a ball, shivering now. She tried to say something, but couldn't; instead, she remained as still as she could, completely relying on everyone else now. Master Feisyyd's first attack struck nothing, as Krarik vanished once again into the mists. He'd been standing still, but almost instantaneously returned to full speed as he exited just behind her from a pillar's shadow. She twisted on her heel and struck with both sabers, each meeting one of his own as they swung through the air. Not a moment could be spared in the following seconds. Krarik went in and out of his Shadow Step in rapid succession, weaving strike after strike from every direction, always vanishing before she could find the opportunity to strike back. Her senses and Perception expanded to something of a sphere of influence, giving her just enough time to deflect each attack; he was relentless, leaving dozens of opportunities to finally finish her off. The flashes of green, white, red, and black were nearly indistinguishable. It looked more akin to a flurry of lights than a duel between Force-wielders.
  13. He made approximately thirteen decisions in that exact instant. Krarik was well aware of Cloud's intent to stall - he'd practically explained to them how that was their only option. The holocron became a secondary objective, meaning while its acquisition would be beneficial, he elected to sacrifice it if necessary. Reelwiron attacked from behind, putting an impressive burst of strength into it. His intent matched Cloud's with an almost remarkable aptitude; whether they had truly attuned to one anothers' Presence, or just by sheer luck, the timing was excellent. But intent was still intent, and distance was something these Jedi had yet to conquer. Their pace was sluggish compared to the true potential that the Force offered. Funnily enough, it was the one called Master Feisyyd who picked up on the gambit a moment too slow. Krarik's blade had already flipped into motion before she heaved a powerful Force Push against him, which ultimately saved the child: Nayla was wrested from his grasp, but he still felt the beam slash against her face somewhere. Her scream meant it was far from superficial, but she was still very much alive. The second blade whipped up around it; not to deflect Reelwiron's strike, but to send a full offensive counterattack. If the Jedi wanted to land that attack, he'd have to take one of his own. Krarik's hand tensed, and Forced the holocron from Cloud's grasp, sending it into his own. Master Feisyyd came through to clear the gap moments after, eyes flickering between her writhing padawan and the dark red crystal. Very good... her attention was becoming more divided by the second. Nayla shrieked as the most piercing, burning, agonizing pain she'd ever felt slashed through her cheek and up almost to her eye. Both hands leapt to the wound; she stumbled, tripped, fell to the ground, and began to alternate between hissing through grit teeth and failing to hold back gutteral cries of pain. Every muscle tensed, and sweat rolled. Feisyyd darted in, but no decision came. Support Cloud, save Reelwiron, defend Nayla, retrieve the holocron... she only had two blades, and neither seemed to pay the Assassin any vexation. To accomplish every goal at once, she'd simply have to kill him - but was that even possible? How much longer until the sun peaked? How much longer until he'd killed everyone else? It occurred to her that they couldn't afford to defend any longer. Perhaps, to survive, some of them would have to die.
  14. "If you are susceptible to gloom fever, we require you to be vaccinated before execution."
  15. If there aren’t enough slots filled after awhile, feel free to say that Quandii Ll’opodi got killed during the bloodbath.
  16. “Okay, sooo…” The hinox sighed, rubbing his eye. “Listen. Lord Kravos has us all on contract to capture, slaughter, or otherwise extradite potential miscreants; as defined in the Blood Oath Subsection 4-1B. If you come quietly, then we can probably arrange you a much nicer cage before you’re executed.”
  17. Krarik appeared for half a moment - just behind Nayla. She spun around to defend, but no attack came; instead, his hand grabbed her by the shoulder. She vanished, immediately after, along with the Sith. Feisyyd expanded her Truesight, but was already (nearly) entirely certain where he’d reappear. And indeed, the assassin whistled back into existence right in front of Cloud. One hand grasped Nayla in a tight grip just beneath the collarbone; save for a pair of two fingers that pinched his lightsaber, the blade pressed centimeters from her face. The other blade held on its own, barely even quivering from the Forcehold. Krarik’s free hand was extended out, palm open to Cloud. ”Depends,” he replied, “on how much you don’t.”
  18. Nothing quite like receiving an email from Facebook notifying you of the one (1) Notification you have received since...

    [a confused scouring later]

    ...2017, apparently

apparently I made a Facebook account in 2017

I was - notably - born in 1961, making me older than my dad. And my last name is Smith, it would seem.

(The notification in question had something to do with local dads and barbecues in my area of something... I only glanced at it, but the way it was worded definitely made it seem like I had once consciously followed some selection of activity hashtags, and the algorithm had finally found - after over six years - a single post or group or something that actually fit it).

(I mean... it's not that I don't like outdoorsy stuff. Get me some homies and I could hike the heck outta those mountains; but how did they get "looking for local dads and dudebros from Dick's Sporting Goods and REI to go kayaking with" from "presumably hasn't been on the internet for six yea-

    ...oh

  19. That's one...Krarik fell once again into the mists, choosing his next target. And then that strange one procured an honest-to-whils Holocron - from his pocket. ...Well well. Ah, what a wonderful turn of events. So few of these children would understand the power this thing could invoke - just another gadget, they might assume. Not even the one called Cloud seemed to know its true purpose, yet he had kept it for who knows how long. The secrets and lore from hundreds of years - maybe thousands - all condensed into a crystal small enough to fit in one hand. Even himself, he suspected, would find himself thoroughly enlightened by what knowledge it might contain. Perhaps these Jedi fools could at least deduce its purpose, but to comprehend it would be another story. But one of them did. They knew full well what it was. I suppose I could spare a few of your favorites, little Padawan, Krarik said, if you surrender it peacefully. Many others of my clan would be inclined to ask your loyalty, but... well, I'm not quite the teaching type.
  20. "Wait, really?" Torto blinked. Or... winked. Semantics. "Was that in the contract? Did you tell HR?"
  21. "Thus!" Said Tortogabatoox, Head of Security: a short(ish) hinox, currently wearing a rather large pair of shades. His pupil watched the newcomers from between the lenses. "We shan't allow you to pass. Do you have a warrant?"
  22. "Whoa! Is that a real fairy?" The question was asked by Riti, a small, white... something. He was quite unlike any other beast in Hyrule, but had taken to following these explorers - they'd been nice enough so far.
