I'll have to do a reread, I don't really remember that one The Nightwatcher's Boundsmith being able to give boons and cruse is almost a given indeed, but I think it will be their equivalent of Dalinar riding the storm or Navani controling the tower instead of something replacing Adhesion The Voidbinding chart has a symbol for Adhesion and it's more different for the sugebinding version than for most other Surges so I think Odium has he's version of that Surge. In SA5 we should see people bounded to sapient Enlightened Windsprens so it should give us the answer I didn't mean as a strike from Cultivation but more like what happened on Scadrial with Ruin and Vin stopping the other when they tried to do something. But yes, not making black holes is probably in the agreement.

I was actually referencing the theory that (Dawnshard spoiler) Also why are we still calling that spearhead made by Kelsier the Bands of Mourning? It's clearly the Spear of the Survivor

That Final Conversation (Secret History Spoilers)
mathiau replied to Aliroz-The-Confused's topic in Mistborn
He's only beliving what is useful to him, nuance He implied it far enough, and he definitely sees himself as alive Deciding not to be treated is a suicide. Unless you consider the treatment method to be amoral, then it's a sacrifice. Interesting, I would have called them "terminally sick" He also mentioned the Beyond as "maybe not existing at all" We actually have evidence of the opposite, in the very next sentence -
Kind of, my real name is Mathieu which is one of the French versions of Matthew. When I was 13 and I chose my username for the first time Mathieu was already taken and I didn't trust myself to chose an original username that I wouldn't regret later (and still don't) so I just changed one letter If anyone want to know It's supposed to be pronounced Ma-ti-o

Brandon's current headcannon on Kel's avatar is a seon in a msitcloack

Apparently there's a tradition to do an AMA when you get to 1000 posts, so here's mine

I'm pretty sure the external use of Progression is also a matter of self-image but self-healing (and higher oaths Progression) can more easily make the mind remember how the body used to be. Otherwise we would have 4 healing-ish magic that works by self image (Stormlight self heal, Bloodmaking, Forgery used to heal or repair and Boundsmith's stone healing) and one that doesn't which is weird, ok two that doesn't with Aon Ien but with Aon Ien you don't just tell the body "heal" or "you've never been hurt" like in the five other, you tell it how to heal so it makes sense that one would be different

Glys doesn't remember the moment he was Enlightened well while Tumi seems to do, maybe Glys was a Deadeye and seeing the Enlightenment still allowed the spren to work perfectly as a Radiant spren convinced other Mistsprens to try? Dreaming-though-Awake probably just comes from another Mistspren nation If Sja can make windsprens think I don't see why she couldn't make Deadeyes think clearly

I don't really see how Passion imply any sort of compassion, could you develop? I'm not sure compassion is covered by Devotion, Aona definitely was compassionate but I think the Shard of compassion would more likely be Mercy Ashertmarn seemed more like self-destruction by complacency, he was constantly telling Shallan to stop thinking thing to far and indulge. Honestly if Preservation and Odium fused in the worste way possible I think it'd create something similar to Ashertmarn He hates the bad rulers of the Cosmere, and losing

Thanks I didn't know Though apparently, Tinfoil hats are made out of aluminium foil https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tin_foil_hat

That Final Conversation (Secret History Spoilers)
mathiau replied to Aliroz-The-Confused's topic in Mistborn
Why? "Because everyone said so" is not a valid answer. (by the way it's likely Aona and Fleet stayed as shadows after they died and possible big A did the same so I really doubt it's really a bad idea) He sees it as a suicide, therefore that would be For the last time asking someone not to commit suicide -even if they're not actually committing suicide- is not selfish I don't understand what these sentences mean, could you reformulate? Tanavast's case is weird, his kind of not there Agreed. Shades could be the exception though -
Tinfoil is made of aluminium so I really don't know why these hat are not already called aluminium hats

I think trying to eat the corrupted breaths he leaks would be safe but trying to absorb from Nightblood himself at would best but Chiri-Chiri in a food coma

[Theory] Taln Wasn't the Herald Who Broke; It Was Chanarach
mathiau replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I had assumed he was a Windrunner from his big jump -
I was unclear my excuses, when I said I meant "I don't think he's the one codifying the forces. He's the God of oaths and laws so maybe he codify the interactions between people? No it still doesn't work to fully codify the interaction between people you'd need to add at least Devotion and Odium" I don't think Devotion and Odium help codifying the forces (and honestly I should just not have put the part about codifying human interactions). To fully codify the fundamental interactions you'd need the Change Dawnshatd and the binding Dawnshard. It would make sense but it doesn't mean it's true. And honestly Navani making wounds that Honourblades cannot heal seems a lot like Cognitive Tension, making how Moash see himself more malleable so that new wounds are as ingrained in his being as Nale's birthmark It could be indeed. I meant that the Reverse Lashing aren't explainable as a fusion of Physical Adhesion and Gravitation but have to be a fusion of Spiritual Adhesion and Gravitation which mean it's impossible Windrunner were not supposed to have Spiritual Adhesion (=they were supposed to have it) If I recall correctly, the only vision where it could have had sense for it to happen is the one where Dalinar get transported by Lashings, and even in that one it's probably just far more comfortable to get lashed that to get ferried around by the Shardplate. But then again Jasnah doesn't seems to have this ability so there's probably something going there. Fate manipulation would be a temporal effect which feels more like Voidbinding than Surgebinding, like Renarin's perfected self vision with Regrow and alternate self vision with Illumination Wait a minute, Adhesion's presence guessing looks like a temporal effect too Then we have that WoB It's likely Cultivation and Honour's balance system is the Surges, but it would makes the concept of Pure Surge weird, especially considering that one of the pure Surges seems to be split in two. We know there's an Odium version of Adhesion, maybe there's also a Cultivation version? If yes then there should be a Honour version of Regrowth, and Truthwatchers would probably be using it. That should mean Truthwatchers don't have access to Growth Whatever the deal with the pure Surges is, a balance system between Odium and the other Shards should be developing in Roshar, possibly by the nature of the Surges changing to become more similar to the Voids, and therefore adding them temporal effects Destroying the Rohsaran system would probably release him, but I'm not sure whether throwing a black hole into the sun would count as destroying it. And anyway: Cultivation.
-
The exact same thing that was done to Saze, yes.
-
It's likely Windrunners' and Edgedancers' shards are made of pure Tanavastium and Koreliaverum respectively. And whatever Glys's sword form is made of is probably viable too and probably not pure Raysium And then there's this WoB that I have no idea what to do about
-
The most recent WoB I could find about the time gap Of course the annonced time gap has changed in the past

That Final Conversation (Secret History Spoilers)
mathiau replied to Aliroz-The-Confused's topic in Mistborn
Depends on you're definition of dead, I agree with you but it seems Brandon doesn't Yes, we should stop forgetting Vin was not asking him to go to the Beyond but explaining why she was going. -
Honestly, Tin being pulling always made more sense to me than Zinc, you can pull down and push up so I didn't see the logic.
-
Then TLM would probably end about 20 years after which -if the letter between Ob and RoW- is too short for Era 2 to finished by the end of SA7 unless Brandon goes back to the 15 Rosharan years gap between 5 and 6. (A Roshar year is about 1.1 earth year 'cause the days are 20h and there shouldn't be more than 1 year before the end of SA 5 and no more than 2 years between the beginning of SA 6 and the end of SA7, that's 13 Rosharan years or 14,3 Earth years, we don't know how long a Scadrialese year is but it's supposed to be close to an Earth year so that's still clearly not enough)

Since Warbreaker's story was intended as a mirror of Elantris's one it'd make sense Elantrians are the opposite of Return yet similar by horseshoe effect Also, to me, Elantrians seems as much similar to regular high-heightening Awakeners as they do to Returned
