  1. Yes. My theory is that the Strong category is actually made up of CSs who have an hidden link to their Shard supplying them investiture, like we know used to exist between Honour and the Heralds. The biggest clue of that comes from Secret History No matter how you twist it there's definitely investiture transferred from the MC to the fire, and that investiture has to come from somewhere. Oh. Well I know one or two things but not much. Mostly what's written on Wikipedia. I doubt Brandon would have called that stone heliodor if all of them where citrines but it's very possible some animals grow citrines instead of heliodors. That's possible Wait it does? I must respectfully disagree sir, amethysts are second to ametrines. Yeah there's no way Kal would be able to do that^^ To be fair it's been heavily implied there had been a Dawnshard other than Change on Roshar at some point of it's history (the Dawnshard known to bind mortal and voidish creatures alike from the Poem if Ista). But I don't like that theory either (especially the extension were the Dawnshard end up trapped in BaM's jewel), I think like spren whould make bad Dawnvessels like they make bad Shardvessels. Not when you're a spren and therefore half expected to be able to fly anyway and you don't have reverse lashings (seriously, if BaM had access to reverse lashings that must have been quite a sight) I know right Oh it's definitely possible to avoid getting consumed by him. The question is if he consumes you can he still move or does the ensemble becomes a crumbling mass of amethyst? That's possible. I suspect you'd have a hard time pulling a windspren inside a topaz or a flamespren inside a garnet but it could still be possible. I did yes. It's also very possible Renarin's future sight is an Hybrid Surge (which is not the same as a Resonance) which is something Meolach would have according to your theory. Now could Odium manage to only give an Hybrid Surge without giving all of either of it's component? I think yes. I'm slightly offended by you calling the perfected-self vision a quarter-solid argument. Warbreaker Yes. At some point we stared calling the expression of each Surge in Cultivation's magic system "Lifes" I don't remember if Szeth said gravityspren or gravitationspren (these two are probably the same) but he's only person who ever saw one onscreen. It's technically possible they're actually attracted to Gravitation and Kel just did not notice them among the hundreds of windsprens but I really feel like this is Brandon foreshadowing Skybreakers' platespen. Only one Mandra would not be able to lift a Singer (you need multiple just for Chri-Chri, and she has wings) but it'd definitely make them jump easier. Then you remember Nibleform exists and it uses windsprens. I don't fully agree, of the five we know three makes perfect sense (lifesprens-mateform, windsprens-nimbleform, creationspren-artform) and the other two are not insane (gravitation helps you bear the burdens and painsprens increase your resistance to pain). But then again horses bound musicsprens.
  2. Definitely not, I'm talking of the fact Stormlight taste different to him depending on the colour of the gemstone
  3. Interesting. I had always assumed Unity would either be something big than Honour (H+C+O, H+O+Dor, H+Ambition...) or something completely different (typically a Dawnshard) but it's indeed possible it's a subpart of Honour. Though if it is more likely the part of Honour the Stormfather didn't take, Dalinar reportedly ascended which implies there was an influx of power from somewhere. If it was Dalinar's 5th Oath I'd accept they could be close enough that they could both hold the same (half)Shard at once, but they're not. And I think having all of Honour's scattered power coalesce into Dalinar would be a lot more scary than him sharing Unity with the SF. Tanavast reportedly only changed when he was almost dead and Cultivation still loves him
  4. Probably not all the emotion like a Rioter would but they probably'd be able to do something similar to what Nergaoul did, probably with some temporal side effects.
  5. If the hypothesis that a Dawnshard was used to create Nightblood is true chances are it was not the case Azure's blade
  6. Valour is a She (I have nothing to say about your theory, could be and could not be.)
  7. I don't know how it's done in America but in France persons with a compound noun are generally called by only on of the names in that compound
  8. Fair I used to think the same but then Zahel said the opposite It's how I interpret the fact Heralds cut from the Oathpact die after a while They used to be friends? Ok, that's definitely physical physical Adhesion and not the thing Ishar did at the end of RoW. Thanks for clearing that up To be fair I didn't remember you had been active there (wherever it was) until you said it here I was thinking he'd been only using the limited spiritual part of the Surge some Radiants have been shown to have (like for example Shallan with Spiritual Transformation) but Heralds having mostly unrestricted access to the Surges is very possible too. Nice catch Yes it's an ametrine but I'm not sure how this is relevant, citrines are not amethysts and as far as spren are confirmed either they'd do nothing or work like heliodors I claim that most Rosharans wouldn't accept to call these amthysts He would identify it as "a purple crystal he did not recognize" I went to check and So I think this falls into "we should ask Brandon" teritory To be fair I did not realise it was possible she was using new powers and not ancient powers she had never used in public until you pointed it out Yes, and this is why I think the "Highprincess among the enemy forces" is more likely a Jezrien equivalent than an Ishar equivalent Ok, I think I get you know. I think Division (and the hypothetical Division-Gravitation hybrids) will be flashy enough that even if Gravitation is Che's main Surge people would still remember Division more vividly (and it's possible that it would annoy her greatly) Yes it's a possibility too It's certainly possible, though Navani saying Implies sprens have a favorite, and I think Odium would have put Yelig in his favourite gemstone It almost certainly was the only perfect gem, but honestly the probably of having a perfect gem on the place Odium intended to have Dalinar become his champion is low enough that dividing it by ten doesn't make it that much less believable. I'll argue that Nightform is mostly a candidate of S-Illumination from the fact V-Illumination doesn't allows Renarin to make disgises and that it's possible for Smokeform to be V-Progression, for the same reason you put Moelach as the Progression Unmande. It could also be L-Division Oh I would definitely want to see that Yeah everything about Edgedancers and Truthwatchers is weird. Note that there's a spren called "gravitationspren" that's attracted to heavy object and Skybreakers and can be bounded by Listeners to enter workform. It's very unlikely theses are Mandras. It's not actually necessary, it just makes thing easier. For example The Lopen never broke.
  9. Note that it's actually possible the migration to the fifth land already happen and the Iriali left on Roshar are actually a remnant the original Iriali population. It's probably necessary if the seventh land is to be reached during space age, which will happen in only a few centuries while the Iriali have stayed on Roshar for millenia. It is too note that not everyone would consider Marsh or Hoid humans confused Gunnerkrigg noise The way Frost talked in his letter makes me think he thinks Adonalsium might have arranged their own death, or at least that he knowingly created the possibility for their death to happen About that. You know how some Listeners or Listeners hybrid see/hear/taste things other people don't? Cord and Rock see sprens, the Lopen tastes colours and Eshonai hears... I actually no idea what that scream was but no one else seemed to hear it. The first land is almost certainly Yolen, it's likely it's the seventh too.
  10. We don't know much about that time so when can fully know but it probably have something to do with the war Jezrien and Nale where fighting on opposing sides If "you" is indeed Honour then it's probably just a majestic plural (it can be Kora since she still loves Tan). But when Venli asks Dalinar who he is le doesn't say "Honour" but "Unity" so I don't actually know. (also, please avoid double posting)
  11. My point exactly. If Rayse can fake being the god of a specy mostly useless to him then so can Taravangian. (Dullform and Slaveform can reproduce)
  12. I don't think ever said to Dalinar he couldn't exterminate the Fused, just that as long as the Fused existed they would come back on their own You have a point. Normally CSs require regular intakes of investiture to stay around (Kelek implies the Heralds still do) so maybe he was talking about that, or maybe Odium being Odium he didn't want to kill Leshwi but to torture her forever. I'm always going back and forth on whether Boundsmiths can use physical Tension and Adhesion. On one hand the statue thing feels very physical but on the other hand it wouldn't be the first time we see a modification on the soul having immediate physical effects and Dalinar is unable to create a pressure mask but on the third hand it could just be he doesn't know how to make one yet. But yes. Yes I remember that. I'll try to use "Surge of X" for the fundamental thing being manipulated (light for Illumination, pressure for Adhesion, "things can't be at the same place" for Cohesion..." and S-(surge) for the H+C expression of that fundamental thing. Definitely, by the way I'll take the occasion to throw the idea that Taln was using spiritual S-Tension to avoid breaking. It would. Definitely, but that's my point. How would a Spren in a Fabrial manipulate a Surge it can't use? Fair Purple, not Violet. Kaladin wouldn't have called something Purple an amethyst, just like he wouldn't accept something not transparent to be called a diamond Funny, the fact her power seemed Bondsmith-y is the reason I put her with the Windrunners in the first place^^ Interestingly, her gaining this new power coincide with other Adhesion users gaining new powers While Dalinar is a proxy-Honor this days from the way the Aharietiam proclamation went I feel in the ancients day it was Jezrien's role. Also remember than while Bondsmiths are indeed Guides, the Windrunners are Leaders. That seemed a bit contradictory with your latter statement of Gravitation being just Cheo's primary Surge instead of it's only Surge. Oops Basically I was saying that if physical Cohesion is "telling things where they should be" then spiritual Cohesion can easily be "telling physical laws how they Should be" which would technically not grant you any Surge but would make it look like you have them all. I was using LTT's theory to justify giving such a stupid amount of power to spiritual Cohesion and to explain why I assumed S-Cohesion and V-Cohesion working basically the same. I think I was actually a bit hasty saying Yelig-nar never did anything himself, yes we don't know what he can do while not bounded (which is the actually important part of my point) but the quote Implies once he consumed his host the host he assumed control of the body. If the gem couldn't trap Nergaoul the Fused wouldn't have tried to steal it, wouldn't they? Though we know Flamesprens can be trapped both in rubies and in amethysts. If you like tinfoil hat theories here's one about a possibility for lightnings to be a form of V-Tension This has the advantage to keep V-Division open for Decayforms Also don't forget the Fused were created on Roshar Actually it's the traitors who matter the most, even if he kills them as they cross the barrier once they cross it he has broken his word.
  13. The magic systems that can appear on a planet is strongly influenced by the planet and the beliefs of the people living there but I don't think there's anything about magic systems changing when you get to another planet, even if Harmony moves to Roshar Allomancy will still be linked to Scadrial and therefore to 16 (Ok, technically there's that WoB but since how the Nahel bound works on Roshar has been tampered with (at least by the birth of BaM) it's like saying Sandmastery doesn't work offworld because the sand doesn't have the fungi)
  14. R-Odium has placed many Fused in positions of power where they would go and try to annihilate humanity yet his plan was to have the humans become strong which implies he intended to dump them at some point. Honestly sacrificing entire races to save parts of humanity does seem very Taravangian like. If he can save people from other races he'd probably do it if they can be useful to humanity (Truesprens of Roshars should be safe for example) but it'd probably only be a secondary objective compared to save humans. These are two extracts of the Diagram, the thing Taravangian has been striving to archive for years, and still is. I don't see him committing random genocides for no reasons but the Fains better have stopped their war with humans on Yolen by the time he gets there.
  15. You're right, he's "only" plugging the Stormfather's memories into Shallan's Lightweaving, not making it stronger or fundamentally modifying how it works Yes but saying Rayse can't give the Surge Adhesion (a Rosharan magic) because Braize is 9 centric feels a lot like saying if Harmony was on Roshar he couldn't give A-chromium because Roshar is 10 centric
  16. I think you misunderstood what threat Odium was giving. He was threatening to remove the fact he comes back after he dies not to kill him and that would do little on Leshwi. This is my hypothesis too. With the added caveat that bounding an Unmade would give you the Spiritual version of the Void they where using and if you manage to transform a Gloryspren into a Truespren and bounded them you'd not become a Boundsmith but a Radiant with the physical versions of Tension and Adhesion. I don't know, I'm pretty sure lifesprens use Progression and not Abrasion I disagree. If it was the case the crystal that grew in Amaram's chest would have been a saphire not an Amethyst (by the way for many years the gemstone Amaram swallowed was a smokestone, not an amethyst, and I doubt they'd have taken two and a half years to fix having him swallow the wrong stone if stone that grew was the same as the one that was swallowed. It's more likely Brandon decided he didn't like Unmade getting traped inside of gemstone of another order than their own). The Windrunner/Surge of Adhesion Unmade is most likely BaM the Nahel Spren, her giving forms of power to the Singers seems quite similar to Force of Squires. Also Bondsmiths don't maniplulate the Surges of other Radiants, they empower them I agree it's either Dai-Gonarthis or Chemoarish here, I think Chemoarish is slightly more likely since she's called the Dustmother and Skybreakers have division I completly agree with this one I prefer to have Ashertmarn here, he's basically complacency which fits decently as an oposite of Edgedancer's mercy. Obviously I agree to these three. As I implied earlier, I think Yelig-nar is the one going here. Firstly because he makes amethists growth but also because I have a way to link Spiritual Microkinessis to the manipulation of all Surges. (Yes I know your theory is based on the fact Unmade only use the Clockwise Surge but first we seen the Stormfather using physical Adhesion all the time and most importantly we've never heard about Yelig-nar actually doing things but only about him bonding with person and them doing things which falls into my Spiritual Void hypothesis) It will use some elements for Dragonsteel Prime (to be exact elements of @LewsTherinTelescope's theory) This only matters if the Unmades where made on Braize after it became 9 centric, which we don't know. I'd like to express the same sentiment toward both you, @Frustration and @LewsTherinTelescope That might be one of the cases where the fact Shards technically are everywhere actually matters For example Nergaoul was sealed in a ruby, the Dustbringer gemstone.
  17. They're roughly equal. There's a reason the Highspren wanted Szeth to chose an easier 4th Ideal so she could give him his plate.
  18. Well, Taravangian's endgame definitely doesn't involve the Singers ruling over the human, that's for sure.
  19. That's Shallan's old method, in RoW she's using Jasnah's method and sometimes end up transforming things into the wrong material
  20. I can see a few possibilities: It's technically not future sight but "understanding", he's using connection connection to get in a state where he understand how he's foes act and react better than they themselves know and use that to anticipate their actions He's Voidbinding in addition to his Surgebinding The Surges are shifting from H+C to H+C+O, which incorporate the temporal effects Voids have into the Surges and Ishar is simply the first to figure out how to exploit it. (though there is that Truthwatcher form the Recreance era who apparently had future sight two thousand years before Sja started enlightening Truesprens)
  21. "In the storm I awaken, falling, spinning, grieving." Describes Kal refusing to become Odium's champion. Technically not about alternate Dalinar but still about something that wouldn't have happen if he had become Odium's champion. Why not? Smartvangian said all Unmades has some relevance to future sight. I seem to have confused "Night" and "Darkness". So back to why I don't think "The darkness becomes a palace. Let it rule! Let it rule!" is about Kholinar: the darkness never became a palace. They overtook the palace, if you want to get metaphorical the palace became darkness, but darkness didn't become a palace. If that DR is not about the Night of Sorrows it's most likely about Rall Elorim, the City of Shadows. It's more likely about the Division Fused, not that it changes anything to your point.
