  1. Well, if he wasn't before, that would kind of be terrible. But what if him swearing the Ideals was an illusion too... My brother thought that Elhokar was the one making the illusion at first
  2. This made me think that a reason that Brandon didn't have Kal swear the oath in Shadesmar was so that we wouldn't see an oath sworn from Shadesmar. Most of the Radiants are not going to be able to be taken hostages without a large force, so are you talking about the people in the lands? I think that this could work, but yeah, with a small number of Radiants, having them go off and do their own thing in their own lands is not very defensible
  3. So this is saying that it doesn't have to be named Wandersail, but also isn't going to be the story that Hoid told, right? The wording just confused me at first: it says "may not", but also says "but" later. If it isn't going to be called Wandersail, there isn't really going to be any confusion with Hoid's story... I'm confused
  4. So Dalinar actually gives another reason that they can't flee: Well, Gavilar thought that it wasn't the Parshendi at first. Everyone else was confused too. Eshonai shouldn't have taken the form of power and should have gone through with the parley with Dalinar. Venli shouldn't have been listening to a strange spren
  5. I don't necessarily think that this is religious, so I'll try to explain: Your Identity (in the cosmere sense) is how you relate to Investiture on a personal level. This includes what magics you can use and your relation to personal investiture (like Breath). I don't really see how this could store memories. Copper stores your personal thoughts and ideas. I don't see how this relates to your relation to your personal magic.
  6. So I discounted this because the compounding power isn't that much better than plain Feruchemy I guess. Steel / Iron sight with extended perception might make it so that you can sense things further away... or you might be able to have inquisitor steelsight... but you would have to have the other powers in addition to C-Tin Something more for tin that I realized on my reread of mb is that when Sazed taps sight, his focus gets narrowed. This could be dangerous for your eyes if it is used too much.
  7. Welcome to the Shard! What is your favorite magic system and why?
  8. MBSH spoilers

    Hi!

Welcome to the Shard! What cosmere books have you read? Which magic system is your favorite?

    Vax

more things that we know: and this basically sums up what brandon is willing to say about vax:
  11. So i'm going to side with temporary.
  12. Marsh covers this and says: Brandon does say that copper makes a "dead zone": I don't think so, but you might be able to if you were a copper savant, which at the very least extends your range (HoA chapter 16 epigraph) EDIT: I don't think so at all anymore. sorry. The epigraph is for bronze, not copper...
  13. So you are essentially changing your sDNA to be something previous, but I don't really see how you are going to change the physical unless you heal to that state. Maybe if you tap the metalmind, it might do it, but I think that healing is a more sure option. I want to say yes. I think so. yeah, that might work.
  14. Correction: I used to always read that that way. Maybe it has something to do with her Plate's spren. She does dismiss the helm, so maybe that spren is hanging around
  15. So I think that this is coming from this WoB: Which is saying that the opposite should be true. This might work against emotional allomancy, but I can't find what emotional allomancy affects the recipient through. I think that protection from harmony would be more effective, but Harmony is effectively 2 Shards, so good luck blocking what he decides to do. I think that you could possibly heal to that stage, but I don't think that you could return to that stage. You are going to have to explain where you are coming from on this one, because I have no clue. Yeah, that seems possible. like a one way mirror or bio-metric security.
  16. Welcome to the Shard! since Invocation already asked it, I'll do a variation: What is your favorite non-cosmere magic system (not necessarily just Brandon)
  17. I've always read that as her spren was sticking around and it would hear and relay that to her. Maybe she was more connected to her spren and could 'hear' it from far away?
  18. Maybe not from making them, but once they get wielded, then they will start sapping aons and the like Which reminded me of: Which might just mean that the newly made NBs would eat their own stamp and then stop being a copy of NB
  19. Being a Herdazian is only part of what Brandon liked to write about (the) Lopen; he also liked writing his humor
  20. So if you invest the metal, then the allomancy isn't going to work (on a spectrum of:) not as well - not at all
  21. So it is at least 1000 breaths to awaken steel to sentience, but trying to follow the Command might take extra investiture
  22. Revelant WoB:
  23. I kind of want to ping the admin, but I also kind of don't...
  24. The Sanderlanche is definitely worth the buildup. I personally have gotten my first take on tWoK mixed with the other 3 times that I've read it, so I think that it is a good intro to the SA. Other than that, he might like era 2 of MB, or maybe Emperor's Soul like Robardin mentioned. He also might like the Non-cosmere stuff like Skyward or the Rithmatist, but that would really just to get him into more Brandon.
  25. Ummm. Kind of. Pick your evil. Burning up from wind or getting torn apart from G forces. It only protects you from the second. Is it just me, or do bullets already move at deadly speeds? The main difference is that you can do something with your faster thinking speeds in the moment with C-Steel I think it looks good! The only thing that I noticed (apart from ^) is that somehow, TLR compounded his Allomancy, so you technically could have stronger pushes. Also that I can't wait to take physics. I tried to explain what I thought that the other compounding metals would do in this: (and no one responded ) But I kind of glossed over the physics because I: 1. Didn't know how to do it. and 2. Just went off of WoBs and what we saw in the book.
