Scadrial is embarrassingly behind in relmatics.
GoWibble replied to Karger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This just made me think that the fight scene between Kel and hoid was partially due to Ruin -
So you are claiming that all of the stormstriders make up 1/3 of the 'Sibling'? Besides that, how does it tie into Urithiru? because: And I hate to do it because the theory is great, but:

Well, science in the area of worldhopping and realmatics -

somehow, the places that didn't have a huge war in their past are better at science and realmatics -
Welcome to the Shard! What is your favorite magic system and why? One of: Dust, Topaz, Imperial Fool, Wit, Cephandrius, Midius, *checks coppermind for more* Roamer, Drifter, and Lunu'anaki But actually other than the person who adopted his name from "someone [he] should have loved", Kelsier

Most T. moments before OB are kind of underrated, and are really good in the rereads

Not sure what the spoiler policies are, so... (spoiler for MB SH and BoM and OB, I guess) -
It's not that hard to learn . I just took 15~20 minutes to memorize the alphabet and then read the notebook entries And depending on who submitted the image, they might just be able to open their copy of it and edit the words in something and resubmit it Also, there just the translated images are on the page (for the first 3) while the other 2 from the notebook are left untranslated... can we just stick with one? Like either all translated or all 'raw' images, or have both? Also, the Pain Knife one, it should say: "remove outer covering" but it says "removable outer covering" on the page And for the emotion bracelet, it should say "man who discovered his betrothed lied to him" when it is "man who discovered his betrothed lies to him" Is this something that was intentional? one on each page... hmmm

And 1 more: The apothecary from tWoK, he had Nightblood at some point:
-
So I liked Kenton in the prose... but the graphic novel painted him in a weird light. The prose clears up Kenton / Khriss interactions
-
there is a third option: stalk threads until you find something you like
-
In my reread of TWoK, I noticed Starspren, which are cool

Yeah! Brandon started out with the magic system for Scadrial and then wrote the plot for it, so the magic system is amazing. I can't wait for the rest of the Eras to come out However you get here, the fandom is great!
-
I actually didn't . I read all of the books and then joined the Shard. How were people's lurking / stalking experiences?
-
Welcome to the Shard! What is your favorite magic system and why? (and for fun, non cosmere also (sci-fi counts!))

Welcome to the Shard! What is your favorite magic system, and why? New people are also fun, and converts to this cult fandom are always welcomed as long as I get their Breath

So we don't know exactly, and you would really need a highstorm. Additionally, humans are imperfect Stormlight containers, so some of it would leak out... also: So I think that you would have a hard time inhaling 10 heightenings of Stormlight...

Rlain is a sleepless: parshmen / Parshendi are easier for the sleepless to imitate, and the Sleepless keep an eye on Kaladin. The tattoos could be inked across a bunch of hordlings initially and then, depending on how small the hordlings can get, the tattoo is just hordlings at the end of WoR. If the Sleepless are like Kandra, they will completely immerse themselves in the imitation, which could be why Rlain is thinking about himself as a Parshendi. Either that, or he is an insane Sleepless... So Rlain is a (possibly crazy) Sleepless
-
So, hear me out, but Rlain is a Sleepless Sleepless can more easily impersonate Parshendi, and the Sleepless are keeping track of Kaladin. Depending on the size that the hordlings can be, the tattoo could be made of cremlings for his Stormform in the end of WoR.

Wait, but you Push and Pull metal towards / away from your center of self not your center of gravity / mass... (the WoB I cited earlier) So, yes, you could do really cool things like that if the magic system worked from the center of gravity (on that note, learning Allomantic pushes / pulls would be way harder)
-
K, got it. Thanks!
-
ok. so honestly I think that I'll just go in and add the descriptions without a source for now ok I'll pause on this for now, but isn't this (the "Broken Oath" card) what we need?
-
so for the Shardblade page, the descriptions for the Honorblades are cannonized with the Call to Adventure Aharietiam page, but are listed as "Unknown" Could someone direct me on how to add a source or claim this work? Thanks!
-
and you finished it.... right?? Welcome to the Shard! *RJ kind of already said it, but* What is your favorite magic system, and why?
-
So the thing that Zane was able to do was push on different parts of the metal (something that Kel could do) and manipulate how much he was pushing on each section of it. For a lesser Allomancer, they can only push on a single part (the center) of the metal, which would make it very hard to balance on because you are trying to balance a point on another point (a sphere on another sphere, essentially) So the thing about the center of gravity v. the center of self thing essentially boils down to: Can you extend your arm without changing Allomantic pushing (or pulling)? Because if your can't, then the point that you are pushing from is your center of gravity. Moving part of you (that 'matter' ) will change your center of gravity, but won't change your center of self. This allows for Mistborn (or coin shots or lurchers) to be able to do things with their hands and other things (like swinging a sword) more easily and intuitively
