Nope, Nalthian Investiture just puts me off so badly. The inherent Investiture in people isn't immediately useful either. Lots of other people have to become drabs for that Investiture to be useful. And Denth was wrong: Being a drab does make you depressed also the Returned business. There's always a sword of Damocles hanging over their head. They need to die. Again. Or be a leech. Their death could save someone, their continued existence is costly. Outside Hallandren, other nations exploit the Returned. It's a bad situation to be in.

Welcome to the Shard! Beware of spoilers though

Recommended to me with Garth Nix, whom I haven't gotten around to reading yet I can't pick a favourite! In the Cosmere, it would have to be Emperor's Soul

Usually just whoever I happen to be reading or the big childhood favorites From the former category: China Miéville, Guy Gavriel Kay & Richard Morgan From the latter: Philip Pullman, Philip Reeve, Rick Riordan, Ursula K Le Guin, Darren Shan I also devour so many YA books & original fiction & fanfics that if I really started to list them out, the site would glitch. But these are the top dogs that I recently made time for or remember fondly

Process of elimination Braize can go Ashyn & First of the Sun can go (relatively small population). Yolen too probably. Nalthis can go too. I really don't like that colourful necromantic place anyway Taldain is already doomed in my mind. Should also have relatively smaller population That leaves the big three: Scadrial, Sel & Roshar. Scadrial has a relatively smaller population than the other two in both Final Empire era & Post Catacendre era. But they've already survived two catastrophic events, I'll feel so bad. Roshar is beautiful. The number of catastrophic events they've had to survive is too much. I'll feel beyond bad if don't save this one. Sel probably has the highest population being the biggest planet with largest inhabited landmasses. They don't have a Shard to save any of them either, though maybe the Elantrians can save some of them. From a purely utilitarian standpoint, I should save Sel. But my heart belongs to the other two. And among those two, Roshar reigns supreme. Also how would the Heralds feel? After all that they've been through for that world, especially Taln I choose to save Roshar

I saw Asimov written on your profile! How cool is the Egg? Or Nightfall? Squee~!!! Man, the Scadrians during the Lord Ruler's Ascension must've been terrified Hey, what other authors do you like?
-
You know some might say that the person who chooses the winner is greater than the person who wins So hasn't Vargo Seldon already won in a way?
-
You can if you want to! Hehehe, man I always end up turning these introduction threads into Ask Me Anything bonanzas
-
Okay, yup something weird is going on here Or maybe a typo?
-
Hmm? Is there any particular type or theme or topic or genre/subgenre that you like or are looking for? If you're looking for stuff similar to Sanderson then there's a lot of big name authors you could look into but I'll take the time to mention some online authors who've uploaded their (really high quality) content for free. There's Worm, Mother of Learning, the Zombie Knight (you'll really like if you like chemistry & Philip Pullman), Ra, Unsong (best.first.chapter.ever!), Grand Design (space-faring dogs & AIs want to avenge humanity, the advanced space faring civilization that disappeared mysteriously), Deathworlders: The Kevin Jenkins Experience

Often times with the lesser spren a specific part of their body manifests in the Physical Realm, like tongue (anticipationspren) or drool (Angerspren) but sometimes spren do materialize fully in the Physical Realm like the Windspren tend to. Hmmm Can anyone paste abstracts from that scene? Did the Gloryspren materialize how they normally do rather than fully? I mean, did they only appear as floating golden orbs or did their whole bodies appear

Impulse control, must be nice having that Oh, you listen to audiobooks! Have you listened to Sixth of the Dusk? I love that in audiobook version!
-
When he created the Perpendicularity they manifested in the Physical Realm from the Cognitive Realm. Spren are Cognitive Entities that embody Physical-Spiritual concepts they don't have a presence in the Physical except when they are attracted by the respective phenomenon they embody or by bonds of various natures

He realized what he had done with Moash's grandparents and simply left them to rot out of embarrassment & exiled Roshone to Hearthstone. He sentenced Kaladin to death for accusing a Lighteyes and then went on to keep him in prison despite Dalinar & Adolin's protests & the latter's subsequent sympathetic self-imprisonment. He was just so uniquely unsuited for power yet born to it. The emerging Radiancy due to proximity to others with similar potential just made me angrier at him. Not wanting to continuously lie to oneself about their own incompetence is good but it hardly qualifies oneself for magical powers. The drunkenness and Dalinar, Adolin, Navani & Jasnah's thoughts regarding his lacking governance skills didn't help Or the fact that he declared the War of Reckoning, which went on for years. If I could get any Cosmere power... any Surgebinding Order, or heck single Surge would do (as long as it's not Soulcasters). Can I say full Allomancy or Feruchemy I'd probably chance a visit to The Nightwatcher too, despite everything Would you be tempted to visit the Nightwatcher? (no need to mention the wish!)

Oi @Grenbot, I've got a hard one for you: All the Shardworlds are getting destroyed, you can save only one, which one would it be?
-
Welcome aboard Have you finished all of the Cosmere books? Which one's your favourite?
-
If he decides to write one. It isn't just Brandon's decision however much his opinions may have evolved. He has a mostly conservative reader base.

A bad person you could argue, but even his supporters & his own family agreed that he was not a good king. Maybe he could've been one day.

Deep and insightful picture of Moash
Honorless replied to Shard of Reading's topic in Sanderson Fan Works
Not enough angst -
Dilaf & Fjon the Derethi, Hashal & Matal the Bridgecrews managers, Ais the Trackt, Elhokar Extremists, slavers & petty people in positions of power basically What Cosmere power would you want, if you could choose?

Welcome to the Shard, @Selesria! Who's your least favorite character?

@Floga Fero, shipping is serious business might want to take it to a dedicated thread And boy do I have some threads for you! (Seriously though, this is the introduction forum, be careful about spoilers here. You can add a spoiler box using the eye icon or use [.spoiler] (text) [./spoiler] (just remove the period to post spoilers))
