  1. That's what they like to be called. The scientifically accurate term is liespren.
  2. This is why I love the shard. Initial question: what's the second most powerful order? The conversation: how do nukes work, and what happens when we turn everything into everything else?
  3. So, we see in several places that Syl is able to use full lashings, and I found this WoB, saying that Windspren can as well Which got me thinking, what if every set of spren is capable of using one of their surges to some extent? If that is the case then the spren and surges would line up like so, assuming that each spren can only use one without a radiant. Honorspren: Adhesion Highspren: Gravitation Ashspren: Division Cultivationspren: Abrasion Mistspren: Progression Liespren: Illumination Inkspren: Transformation Lightspren: Transportation Peakspren: Cohesion Bondsmithspren: Tension Now I don't know about Bondsmith spren, given the oddness there, but looking at the other ones they seem to make some sense with the orders theming. But if this is true, that means that there is at least one surge per order that can be used and applied at a distance from the radiant themselves.
  4. I've been convinced for a while that anti-investiture weapons would make a big showing in the rest of the series.
  5. I just realized something else, when Shallan soulcasts with Testament, she only soulcasts blood, which is the essence associated with her order. I wonder if she is capable of preforming other transformations, or if Testament only gives the ability to soulcast with that essence now.
  6. Depends on whether you consider lifeless to be robots or not. If you do the first lifeless is probably the first robot, otherwise it's Nightblood.
  7. We went over this shortly after the book came out. If I remember correctly it was confirmed to be a typo, I'll see if I can find it.
  8. That might actually be the case
  9. That starts to break down when you consider that invested objects are harder to see with steelsight, not easier.
  10. At first I thought this was some satire mocking the Indian Astrologer spambots. I kind of want to see that now.
  11. Infinite is not the same as omnipotent. I don't understand why you refuse to acknowledge that. And yes they are infinite, but they are infinite in that they renew, they don't have infinite investiture on hand all the time, as we have seen time and time again. Brandon has said that Investiture cannot do things. No, we do not. The Beyond is not even confirmed to exist, and never will be. He never once calls shards omnipotent. Closest thing confirmed perhaps, but he's not even close. Brandon will never confirm the existence of a Capital-G God, but he has confirmed Adonalsium. Therefore Adonalsium is not omnipotent, or a God
  12. The newspaper person in TLM mentions people with golden skin
  13. From Ars Arcanum It's pretty clear that unbounded by what Honor did Stoneshaping can do what Microkinesis did, including nuclear explosions Now the only question is whether you think those rules fell away along with whatever Honor did to Bondsmithing do not.
  14. In the Ars Arcanum Khriss compares Stoneshaping to microkinesis the largest thing I can think of lashings being applied to is Navani's carriage, which is both smaller and mostly hollow. Not to mention that they still need enough stormlight to get off world, and then find the asteroid, and then still have enough to get it back to the planet. Which assuming perfect gems, and second ideal squires might theoretically be possible, but it would be like winning the lottery It is possible, RoW chapter 22, page 322, but they can't get back to the physical realm.
  15. I see where you're coming from, and I can understand that, but by that same logic, saying that honor's rules still apply seems rather inconsistent given that we have proof that they have long since left. I can agree with that to an extent, but at the same time that hurts the orders we haven't seen a lot, while the ones we have remain mostly unaffected. Assuming in world knowledge is a limiter, Lightweavers, Truthwatchers, and Stonewards fall off pretty hard
  16. Then why wouldn't he have done that with Bondsmithing? With the amount of Stormlight they could carry any asteroids they could affect would burn up on entering the atmosphere, rather than impacting Soulcaster nukes are something to keep in mind.
  17. That is true, but as the Stormfather said, Honor no longer lives to enforce his laws.
  18. I can see a lot of orders being able to compete Windrunners, having the most squires is a really powerful option, as it allows them to overwhelm opponents through sheer numbers Dustbringers are known as the most destructive order Truthwatchers have Illumination lasers and progression healing, and growing plants that could help them Lightweavers have lasers, soulcasting, and the ability to retreat to the Cognitive realm Elsecallers are the most profficent with the Cognitive realm and could probably beat Lightweavers and Willshapers there, while maintaining pressure on anyone still in the Physical realm Willshapers can move between realms and have stoneshapping, which is implied to be able to set off nuclear explosions Stonewards have stoneshaping, and boosted strength from Tension. Honestly the only ones I feel confident saying aren't #2 are Skybreakers and Edgedancers, which makes me sad because I like the two of them a lot.
  19. So I was thinking, we see lots of threads about Radiants versus Mistborn, or other magic systems, but we rarely have threads of them fighting each other. So I thought, who would win in a fight between all the orders(Excluding Bondsmiths of course, cause they're OP)
  20. I think it's closer to the Cycle's healing, and that some ambient investiture from Autonomy gave him that power
  21. Are you Sirius right now?
  22. If Johnathan Swift wrote the Cosmere, the balls in Luthadel would feature 1 year old Skaa children served as delicacies.
  23. Aside from the blood and bones there isn't a ton of metal in the human body. Most everything else is in such small concentrations that you can see around it. So you probably couldn't see anything in the heart, or brain, but the stomach you probably could.
  24. That would probably still be enough force to blow a hole in the ship, and since the Harmonium wouldn't be destroyed it would react with the water as it came in.
