Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
Frustration replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's still a kidnapping, and unintentional homicide. And prevented untold amounts of destruction elsewhere. -
Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
Frustration replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
We still don't know the full story on that, or even if they were involved. And what does that matter for Kel? He isn't even from that planet. Who saved their people for seven thousand years. The fused existed before the Heralds, they didn't put their people in an endless cycle of war, they made times of peace in between wars. -
here you go.

Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
Frustration replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Kel is a neurological psycopath, more along the lines of some surgeons. Kelsier gave the order to capture a herald. And was angery that they couldn't control the Oathgates. That's entirely Kelsier's doing. Bead* He left the one Elend would use because he knew it would be bad if he did. He likes his privacy, is there anything wrong with that? -
He was much stronger than Elend, to the point Elend has to use Duralumin to be on his level.
-
He didn't use Lerasium he used the well to make himself really powerful with Allomancy.

Ok thank you, I think I get it. Maybe I can shed some light on that. From what I've seen(and that's not to say that's all that is out there) It's more been about the changes. Elves dwarves and Hobbits are white, and neither lore wise nor biologically have reasons to not be(especially elves and dwarves, who really should be much paler than any human). However there are other cultures that are not white, like the Harradrim, or the Easterlings, and it looks like they are being skipped over. I don't think anyone is complaining about having characters of different racial backgrounds, so much as the fact that this is the lazyiest way to do it. For example towards the downfall of Numenore they began to demand tribute from other men, it would be really intresting to see how that affected the Harrad, and ultimatly lead to them joining Sauron, as well as showing just how corrupt the Kings of Numenore had become. There are some good stories that could have been told there. Now that's not to say there aren't some idiots legitametly being racist out there, and if they are that is not okay in the slightest and they need to stop. But that there are some other reasons to be upset. Does that make sense, or do you still not like it?

Okay I see what you mean now. -
when the population that can read is spread equally between the entire population reguardess of economic situation that should be mostly a non-issue.
-
I have an idea, but be forwarned if you want to try this ALL of your free time will be gone.
-
Would assigning each force a designation work? Gravity 00-1, time 000, Electromagnetism 001 etc
-
Well that makes things complicated. ... or maybe not. You could just steal physics. Flow chart time. Pick a fundemental force, or prossess (Strong/weak nulcear force, Electromagnetism, Gravity, Higgs feild, transfer of energy, time, space etc) select a target write out how you want the magic to be preformed, i.e. take this, give it a magnetic feild, or multiply it's gravity by -2, or so forth. Does that work?
-
I recommend the second law of Magic systems. What do you want the magic to NOT be able to do?
