John rolled over blinking tears from his eyes. It took him a moment to realize what was happening. The fight! The Mystic! "Blast." John spat rolling to his feet. His gun lay a few feet away, but he had spent all of his bullets. That left the knife in his belt and the flamethrower on the other side of the room as weapons. John rushed forward, grabbing the flamethrower and unleashing a new torrent of flame. It probably wouldn't work, but he had to try.

Perception of one individual cannot overcome the collective unconscious without additional power. Soulcasting part of an object is much harder, even if one person is trained to look at it one way, the Cognitive and Spiritual realms will see it another way. It takes over fifty years for a rug to become part of a building cognitively, that is far longer than it takes for people to see it that way. Therefore regardless of the training that people may put in without additional power an Edgedanncer will not be able to phase through walls. Not that it would break anything if they could, because other people can do that. But they can't.
-
It's not the amount of matter but the state it's in. People go through gases all of the time, so they see it as something you can go. However the Deepest Ones are the only people we've seen go through solid objects. So people see it as something you can'tove through.
-
I'd imagine it taking the same amount of power as pushing on trace metals. Perception decided factors on this scale aren't overcome with perception of your own. And besides the Fused already phase through walls.

How does iron feruchemy Why air I haven't the faintest clue, but it's not just air, the above passage mentions light, and I'm inclined to assume liquids would be affected as well. The question really shouldn't be why air, it's why not solids. And I'm inclined to agree with stoneshaper, it's perception and spiritual stuff.
-
Phasing is not quite the term I would use, but "Drifts slightly between the realms so as to change their interaction with matter in a way that breaks physics about as much as Iron feruchemy" doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Basically yes.
-
No, it is used to override the spiritual gravitation of the planet and generate a new gravitational body that will only affect the user. I can't link the WoB right now, but I'll try and get around to it. I'll use coding terms because that's the best way I can describe it, but basically you turn collisions off.
-
Unless storm light is more energy dense than black holes it really doesn't. It is only possible with use of the three realms, something I assume would be at work with Abrasion as well.
-
Gravitation breaks physics as much or more than completely removing air resistance. The planets gravity is overridden by a half lashing, but you still maintain your position relative to the planet. You are affected by gravity nothing else is. You have the affect of gravity equal to the planet without any interference from the planet. Etc.
-
Well gravity in a direction rather than towards an object already breaks physics, so I don't think that's a problem.
-
But it doesn't even hint that it's still there. And I would say it goes even further than that.

Elya roared, charging forward. A distraction, an opening. John raised his pistol and emptied it, putting all of his rage and hate into every shot. He would not lose another one, he would rather die.
-
John groaned, still laying where he had fallen on the floor. He probably should have thought that out better. It seemed this strange man could move him if he wanted to. How did he fight something like that? Trying to make as little noise as possible he rolled over, bringing his pistol to bear on the mystic. However, he held his fire, he would have to wait for the right opening.
-
John roared as the blade bit into his arm. It was a much larger gash than any of the others, and it brought a whole new flavor of agony. Agony that let him move. John tossed the flamethrower aside, he was just wasting gas at this point. This mystic, whatever he was, could freeze him in place somehow. That ment that if John wanted to move he would be at a disadvantage. However if he wanted to stay in one place. . . Not giving himself any time to reconsider John threw himself at the stranger, wrapping his arms around the man. If John couldn't move this man couldn't either.
-
John felt a weight settle over him, as knives made of blood slashed across his chest. It was even stronger than the last time, he couldn't stand up, or even move his arms. More slices, blood began to flow from numerous cuts, bleeding slowly onto the ground. Well, he couldn't move his arms, how about his hands? Straining his muscles he was able to shift his hands, ever so slightly. Shifting the jet of flames back towards the odd man.

Lifeless are aware enough that Brandon wants to do a PoV with one next book, so I say it would work.

Viator still didn't move. Blast. At least he was breathing, so he would probably be fine. John had to get back in there. Jumping onto a nearby dumpster, John began to climb up the fire escape. Climbing to the top John looked in at Elya being attacked by ribbons of blood, while the strange man stood watching. "Alright fool, try this on for size." John threw himself through the window, firing several rounds at the man. As he landed he tucked his shoulder and rolled, coming up in a kneeling position, flamethrower already in hand.

It was the anti-light.

Not only that but revenge is personal, Justice has a separation between the victim and the people who bring justice.

theory Hoid's Endgame Theory
Frustration replied to Cosmerenomics Enthusiest.'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
No it really is the same, unless our understanding of Investiture is highly flawed. There might be some bonuses to having magic from every shard, but it won't make you Adonalsium.- 12 replies

That's a bit like saying that someone with every color marble owns all of the marbles in the world.- 12 replies

Who's that Pokemon?
Frustration replied to The Wandering Wizard's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Nope. This Pokemon is pure psychic type. -
"Viator, get up!" John yelled trying to wake him.

That's still a lot of money. Enough to feed a whole family for a year means multiple years for a single person.
