Scadrial vs. Roshar post Lost metal.
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Viewing from CR will make any sneaking in impossible, and Venli was able to keep track of things in urithiru which is entirely blinding light in the CR. So the only opportunity they have is during battles, so the one they get will be random, meaning they don't know how to impersonate them. and Alerter fabrials will prevent them from entering the camp after battle without being discovered. Awareness is just senses, and Presence mental fortitude. Presense might make them resistant to sleep deprivation, but I doubt it would make them entirely immune. With a weapon, Dalinar didn't wear sharplate to the feasts. Given the description of the CR I doubt that is Roshar. I doubt it, it would take longer than 50 years Vin needed duralumin, so it wasn't like anyone could do it. fair Atium makes you future visible the moment you stop burning, and you never cloud the future of someone else. -
Welcome to Frustration's Firepower Index, a collection of threads giving a comprehensive analysis of each cosmere world's combat capabilities. This thread will focus on the World of First of the Sun, as seen in Sixth of the Dusk. The reading from the sequel will not be considered. Shards: First of the Sun is home to an avatar of Autonomy. .5/3 Dawnshards: First of the Sun has no known Dawnshards. 0/0 Defenses: The Pantheon isles are vicious, with everything there being deadly, any non-experienced exploration into the isles will result in heavy loses by the invaders. However at this time they lack the ability to defend themselves against space-fairing worlds,(though the fact that they have been known since before RoW and are only during Sixth of the Dusk, interacting with other worlds shows just how potent patji's defenses are). 1.5/5.5 Offenses: The sole perpendicularity on First of the Sun is located on Patji, making it difficult to access in large numbers. -1/1 Natural advantages: First of the Sun is mostly water limiting their population size. -1/2.5 Armed forces: There are multiple locations known of first of the sun, but it isn't known if there is more than one faction. 1/12.5 Economics and technology: The Homeislers have gunpowder firearms, steamships, cannons, and two devices that detect aviar. 3/7.5 Logistics: On World: First of the Sun has shipping routes, steamships, and industrial capacity. 3/10 Off World: Patji makes getting anything off world almost impossible. -6/2.5 Intelligence: There are aviar that reveal possible deaths, and others than can hide people's minds from detection. 2/10 Counterintelligence: No special advantages. 0/9 Allies: First of the Sun is interesting as it may be able to rely on Autonomy's empire for support, but I doubt it. For now: 0/1. Notable uses of investiture: any birds that eat the worms gain talents, and multiple birds can bond one human. +1 Recommended strategies: First of the Sun is in a tight spot arguably the weakest Cosmere world currently known, as it is way behind the other worlds of its time. It's best solution is to get as many new breeds of Aviar as they can, and attempt to domesticate some Pantheon wildlife. While doing this it will need to search out allies, and attempt to develop as quick as it can without alerting the Ones Above. Overall ranking: 4/65.5 As always what are your thoughts, did I miss anything? What did you think of the ranking? And what should I work on next?

So does holding a perpendicularity open. It's a matter of skill, not power. No, but they heavily resist it. And that 100 times makes no sense, affecting more people doesn't make your manipulation weaker. What signs? -

Because emotional Allomancy doesn't get less powerful the more people you affect. Fused highly resist lashings, which are higher investiture than emotional Allomancy. -

That's true, must have missed that, thank you. -

Why would they need to be 100 times more resistant? The Investiture shouldn't be additive. And given that willingness has something to do with whether you are affected or not, and lashings being higher investiture I don't think that's an issue -

I'm not saying immune, I'm saying resistant to the point that emotional Allomancy is not a viable strategy. -

Plate has almost no effect on Aon Daa. And the only time we've had a side by side comparison of allomancers and non allomancers affected by soothing was when it was done by TLR. -

With the exception of Lerasium Mistborn, and TLR everyone on Scadrial is rather poorly invested. And Shardplate is noted as making its wearer immune to emotional Allomancy, so it is affected by it's target being invested. -
So Feruchemy on it's own in neutral, so you spend a hour a year older and can become a year younger for an hour as a result. If you are also an allomancer you can burn your metalmind(where you store that attribute) and instead of(in the case of Atium) seeing the future, that investiture is used to make you younger. Basically what he was doing was making a new allomantic metal that only he could use, meaning he could get more youth out than he had stored in the atium.

Why do you say that? -
Welcome to Frustration's Firepower Index, a collection of threads giving a comprehensive analysis of each cosmere world's combat capabilities. This thread will focus on the World of Threnody as it appears in Shadows for Silence, with some information from later Mistborn Broadsheets. Shards: Threnody has no known Shards. 0/3 Dawnshards: Threnody has no known Dawnshards 0/0 Defenses: Threnody has no stable perpendicularity, with the only ones appearing being unpredictable and infrequent. The invading force also is unlikely to know the three simple rules and will suffer a lot more shade attacks than the Threnodites would. Additionally their fighting might draw a Deepest One to them, and the continent with the Evil is dangerous and will need to be avoided. 2.5/5.5 Offenses: Lacking a stable perpendicularity Threnody lacks the ability to make large offensives. -3/1 Natural advantages: Threnodites have a chance to become shades upon death, effectively increasing their ability to defend against invaders who don't know the simply rules. However their population is small having just survived a cataclysm a few generations ago. 0/2.5 Armed forces: Threnody as a consequence of the Evil has a relatively small population, but they do know about gunpowder, and may make use of it if they go off world. There are several small forts acting as government, but no groups we know enough about to list as notable. 1/12.5 Economics and technology: There is limited trade between forts, but it does exist, which puts severe restraints on any industry that threnody wishes to partake in. Threnody mostly uses medieval weapons due to the simple rules, but they at one point knew how to make gunpowder. -1/7.5 Logistics: On Wolrd: Threnody has a fleet of seafaring vessels, and several roads and bridges linking the forts. However shades limit shipping, and will attack anyone moving quickly at night. 1/10 Off world: Threnody lacks a stable perpendicularity and thus cannot reliable move materials off world. -5/2.5 Intelligence: Threnody has nothing special in intelligence: 0/10 Counterintelligence: Threnody has nothing special in counterintelligence. 0/9 Allies: Threnody has no allies. 0/1 Notable uses of investiture: Nahz has guns that shoot shades, if these are able to be reproduced it turns Threnody into a serious threat. +1 Recommended strategies: Threnody is a small world, probably one of the weakest, which has only a single major resource in shades. The way I see it they have two options, either develop advanced shade weapons to the point that it would be more trouble for larger worlds to conquer you than it's worth, or otherwise quickly form an alliance. Overall ranking: -3.5/65.5 Did I miss anything? What do you think of the rankings, and what should I do next?

That is correct, and should be included. I included bloodsealing The recent spoiler stream implied it, but did not confirm.

Scadrial vs. Roshar post Lost metal.
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It charges and then can shoot shades, or at least something close to them. The gun itself seems to be the source of investiture as Nikki can leech it. Yeah, and he's not going to have a guard at all times? Not to mention the fact that he has dealt with assassins before, he knows how to spot someone who wants him dead. The supply escorts will all come from Roshar directly, they wouldn't rotate out from the main force. How do you know they don't need sleep? Someone who never takes their armor off will raise suspicion This is all without mentioning the fact that Kandra don't know any rosharan languages, and they won't have the ability to study their target, so they would be found almost immediately. Like this That would make so much noise, That's not what's shown in battle. Kelsier burning atium doesn't protect Vin's future from being seen. It's just them, and only while burning. -

Because of the ash and weaker plants. This is era 2 mistborn, no Atium. The horse that was exclusively owned--and used--by Radiants before the recreance(WoR 317). -
Well it wouldn't be a breath, but it would probably be something like that

That was a rhetorical question intended to point out logical inconsistency, rather than a point unto itself. -
shards Does a shard have to have an intent to "be" a shard?
Frustration replied to Darkeye Venev's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Intent is a natural part of a shard, like magnetism, or charge for a particle. It isn't needed to keep the shard together so much as an inherent characteristic. -

No, it's like a Radiant without a Rhyshadium. So the Radiant gets their plate? -
Scadrial vs. Roshar post Lost metal.
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Why not? They can assemble each part from Wax and soulcast them into the right material before assembly. Or even forge it directly. What do they lack? What? But during the battle itself he doesn't needlessly risk himself. And in the CR he can watch the battle take place. They would not be assigned as an escort. They could maybe slip on during a battle, but they wouldn't be in armor all the time. Sooner or later they will be found, and a Bondsmith will take control of them. And why would they have guards for the perpendicularity at all, the moment any non-radiant approaches he can shut it. He can't control it, but he does see useful futures. And Atium and electrum users would only cloud his vision while using their powers and only for themselves. -
I needed to. What's the password for your bank account?

Adolin was fine, until Oathbringer. Early on he had a balance, not overbearing on the plot while also having a presence. However we hit OB and Brandon made him one of the main cast. We get more of him than we do Szeth and Venli who are actual flashback characters, and then he became overbearing and began to take focus away from where it was needed. This was the same thing that happened to Navani in RoW, a character who didn't need it got too much focus and that made both them, and the book weaker. I wouldn't say he sucks, but he definitely gets attention that would have been better focused elsewhere.

I wholeheartedly agree, though I'd say there is a possibility that there is no distinction between Tanavast's CS and the Stormfather.
