I think Medallions are closer to Honorblades, Khriss even compares the two in one of the Ars Arcanums. So, I doubt you could get permanent abilities from them, without extra work.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here. And where would he go? Sure he can practice just about anywhere, but how many places both lack a surgeon, and are able to support one? Especially since he refuses payment, very few places would actually work out. He didn't need to steal, his family was pretty well taken care of, they had a constant supply of food, and permanent shelter. They did, or Roshone did? And it's still his home.

It does, but you can only store something that's part of your soul, whereas Honorblades are the ones with the power, and they give it to you via Connection.
