Sometimes the easiest explanation is best. That is her true name.

She is staying under the radar. Any name she gave would be foreign to a Listener. And among the Alethi she would be well advised to pose as an immigrant. She looks odd. So why take the risk of messing up your names or not reacting with natural speed to an assumed name? General fieldcraft is avoiding unnecessary lies.

She only tells her true name to Venli. She says the others, I take she means the Alethi,  call her by another name

  2. Again if you haven't read Mistborn Secret History then please go back.

Now ,taravangian was dead at the time he ascended, albeit by less than a minute perhaps.

Now in SH Ruin mocks kelsier by telling him that a cognitive shadow can't be as good a Vessel as a being which exists on all three realms.

So how good is taravangian as a Vessel then?

Kelsier was very less connected to Preservation whereas taravangian was almost made for Odium.

Kelsier was dead for some 2-3 yrs I guess whereas taravangian was dead for barely a minute, if that.

Will this be of consequence ?

This theory about the loophole gives me SO MUCH anxiety because I just can't think of a good way out of it. My only hope of it not happening, is that the champion must be willing and Connected to Odium. I don't think a Rosharan human's innate Connection to Odium would be enough, hence the way Odium spent so much time grooming Dalinar (& now Moash?). The fact that an infant can't willingly become the Champion gives me hope. Gavinor, though, is definitely old and verbal enough to agree. Especially if the person asking is  a kindly old man. Or if T looks like Elhokar when he appears to Gav...

We don't know what his mom and the Unmade did to him. He could very well have a switch within him that could be activated by Odium or an Unmade turning him into another Vyre without emotions.

Wouldn't it be equally possible that the pairing began from humans in the cognitive realm? If a spren-human couple wanted to get physical, they could bring the human to the cognitive realm. Especially since when those sorts of pairings were most likely, there was access to surgebinding and oathgates to make the transfer reasonably accessible.

Hum yes but would the Spren have the required anatomy for it ? In the cognitive things can be hazy and survive , not so in the physical

I thought it was Spiritual vision Tien lingering on. But yeah. Teft would be right there.

Yeah tien is spiritual something but teft would be right there. I'm actually surprised he didn't have a convo with kal telling him kal saved him and he didn't need to feel bad

While Teft's spren is dead, dead for Invested beings can mean mostly dead, not all the way dead.

All Phendorana needs is for someone to take her to Miracle Max!

No dude. She's dead. She was Super murdered. The stormlight that composed her was destroyed by the anti stormlight.

She's not deadeyed. She's gone. As surely as if Nightblood had killed her.

I see it as the reason odium lost his champion, just before rayse dies he mentions how he "has lost his champion, again" assuming moash was gonna be odiums champion now he's blind odium would need to pick someone else

Taravangian mentions it was stormblessed who was supposed to be the Champion afterwards .

  8. I thought the same too. Although it's not exactly that. Veil for example is more than just sexuality or aggression.

I think Brando likes the idea but also sees the inconsistencies in it .

U will find the same idea expressed in another one of his non Cosmere works

I think he back ruthless after getting the honnor blade.

Hmm perhaps but he does say he trained with them in his youth

From OA chapter 98 page 2

    Quote

Szeth drew in Stormlight and Lashed himself into the air with the others. Though he didn’t care if he won arbitrary tests of competence, the chance to dance the Lashings—for once without needing to cause death and destruction—called to him. This would be like those days in his youth, spent training with the Honorblades.

I think he might have originally been trained to keep it with honor before becoming truthless.

It's Victor Vale from V.E. Schwab's Villains series (wow, that's a lot of v's). His asexuality doesn't play a massive role in the books, though.

Oh, I forgot, there's also Alice Oseman's YA contemporary book Loveless, which is the coming-out story of an aroace teen. I don't read YA all that much anymore but once I heard about it how could I not read it.

I have a bunch of other books with ace characters on my TBR, but who knows when I'll get to them :P

Victor's ace. I thought he *spoilers for the book

    Spoiler

Liked that girl who he ended up killing by accident after he turned into an EO. Also I haven't read the second book yet so if it's important don't give a explanation. Or oh is he asexual but heteroromantic

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!! I'd do crab emojis but that seems slightly disrespectful to them considering she did a little bit propose crab genocide

I agree with ene. That's like putting rat emojis and saying they represent humans since we r both mammals :P

Hmm loveless seems like a good book too. Gonna put it on the to-read list. Thanks

  11. Oh man can't wait till we see taln and ash become fully functional fighters and surgebinders in the second arc.

Also I think that if palilah truly was the assassin jasnah tried in her prologue in WoR then she might have been a real good fighter from the stsrt or trained ntk the upper half of the list in the 4500yrs since Aheritiem

  12. So szeth mentions his dad , mom and sister and his dad was the holder of Ishar's honorblade.

So was he truthless too ? Was the entire family condemned to be truthless or onky szeth.

Or do they have a honoured position as wielders of the Honorblades. Szeth ,   while at the skybreaker fortress,      reminesces fondly of his youth spent training with Honorblades,  and that seems to imply he was familiar with the Honorblades before becoming truthless.

So do his sister and mother have honor blades too ?

Is his dad alive ? Taravangian claimed Neturo was dead but Ishar said he hasn't killed him but Neturo could still have been killed by others under the influence of thd Unmade or in some other manner.

What do u think ? Let the speculation begin.

  13. Ah friends I too suffered greatly from the sinking of both Jasnadin and Veilladin.

That being said I'm all out shipping Sylladin now.

I think that if syl becomes human , kal will lose Radiance but gain a Soulmate and seriously I think he has had enough of war and would be more suited to rebuilding after the contest of champions and would be especially useful in pioneering psychology and emotional therapy.

The next gen I think will be blue toned half human , half Spren , probably immortal , wrong shadowed children of the union between human and Spren.

They would be able to form Nahel bonds too. More powerful ones maybe due to them half Spren already.

Being half honorspren they could perhaps have shapeshifting abilities too. And it's possible they might have the ability to turn food into stormlight or feed off stormlight.

  14. So I'm a kinda longterm fan of Sylladin. I mean those two are already soul mates and they are literally perfect for eachother.

I mean kal is the storming stereotype of a brooding male YA male interest or protagonist ,while syl is the idea of a Manic Pixie Dreamgirl come alive.

YA romance authors would have hated Sanderson lol.

But unfortunately there was A Fault in thier Realms and it seemed they were never meant to be but now .... with ishar . Hmmmmm .

Ishar , the mad lad, has made Sylladin possible again.
    So yeah.  Sylladin LIVES.

I wonder how the Stormfather would react to that ?

He would be the ultimate stereotype of a  father in law who hates and has a bumpy relationship with his son in law lol.

I wonder how Syl will cope with being human.

Eating human food, growing hair , tasting something for the first time , pooping :P . Lol .

I really wanna see Syl become human and get hitched to kaladin and have immortal blue toned , wrong shadowed children with him.

Just imagine those cuties going up to uncle Oroden . Awwwwww ♥️♥️♥️

So going more serious now , Honorspren  unlike almost every other sapiant Spren species , aside from inkspren , are the closest imitations of humans .

So as an aside ,  I was wondering if syl was pulled into the PR by ishar , would she have the inner physiological, esp reproductive anatomy compatible with humans ?Would kaladin be able to have children with her ?

If so what would they be like?

Then I realised that's the literal definition of Siah Aimians.

    Half Spren , half human.

Also Siah are shapeshifters tho they prefer a human form. Honorspren are exactly the same too.

So we just may have precedent for this too.

  16. @LiftIRL I love the shallan , adolin , kaladin ship too. Although I was actually hoping for Veilladin and shalolin. So it would be a foursome I guess.

Also khrisnah. Hmmmmm that might still happen. Can't believe I didn't think of it.

My ship was Jasnadin but welp hoid ruined that. I, like ,rayse will hate him forever for that.

Now my new ship is Sylladin. Syl can be pulled into the Physical realm by ishar and well , she's a shapeshifter , she might be able to actually imitate human anatomy to a T.

Hmmm , I mean syl and kaladin are already soulmates. I am totally behind it.

Hmm I wonder if thier children would be the Siah Aimians. Half Spren half human and capable of shapeshifting. Hmmmm, well got a new theory too

  17. I liked sigzil too. Was hoping to see another pov chapter like in OA.

I think yanagawn or lift will befriend him and that's how we will find out his story. Yanagawn might bring him justice too , if whatever happened to him is similar to what happened between amaram and kaladin

I wonder why that was done.....seems a useless addition to the story.

I think it's a way for him to punish himself. When Odium's connection was removed , he felt guilt and pain at killing Teft.

He tried to flee back to Odium's emotional void as soon as possible even tho he was blinded .

If could be that in his heart of hearts he thought he should suffer for being so blind as to kill his old friend and therefore changed his own spiritual ideal to be blind .

How much of this was consious or subconscious  , I can't tell.
