No worries. We were more confused by it than anything.

I'm going to say definitely not to the more rep = more questions bit. It's actually rather skewed in the favor of those who have been active in the elimination games. Rep is handed around there far more than it is anywhere else on the site. Also, strictly from what we learned about Brandon doing Q&A's here, doing a Q&A will actually help de-lurk people, as they have to make an account to ask a question, which I definitely want to encourage.

That would be arranged by his staff and ours. We've seen an increase in numbers of late, and he might limit it to one question a person. I really can't say though, but I'll definitely ask the next time I see him.

I'll ask Brandon if he's willing to do one sometime soon, now that WoR is out.

Who owns the rights to 17th Shard?
Rubix replied to Swimmingly's topic in General Brandon Discussion
That's between Brandon and the site, actually. We are using the name (modified for URL convenience, yes) with Brandon's direct permission. I don't really want to get too into it before I have things in writing, but from the discussions I've had with Brandon I do have the right to make merchandise bearing the name 17th Shard. Also, in Brandon's work, you can search for "17th Shard" all you want and you'll never find it. The in-universe organization is always referred to as the "Seventeenth Shard". -
Hey guys, I just wanted to poke my head in and say a couple quick things. First and foremost, thank you so much to those who have been running games! They seem like they've been a lot of fun, and it's always good to have fun things to participate in on a site like this. Second, I've heard some feedback on the games that have been, and I've definitely heard your feedback. I'm currently working on finding ways that we can implement your suggestions going forward, but it's still a work in progress, which brings us to number three. I want your feedback. In fact, I'd actually say I need it. If there was something that happened in a game that you hated, I want to hear about it! Same with things that you loved! All feedback is welcomed and appreciated, so that we can continue to do these games, and make them even more awesome in the future. Just go ahead and leave a comment below, or, if you'd prefer, feel free to send your feedback to me via PM. I'll definitely be considering all the feedback, and we'll make any needed adjustments as we go along. Thanks guys! P.S. As some of you may have heard, I've been working on a game of my own, and I think it's going to be a blast. I'll be running it concurrently with the other games, but I think you'll really enjoy it! Look forward to it towards the beginning of next month!

You'd have to take it from me.

Hey everyone, just stepping in here to let everyone know that I'm going to be watching this thread. We've had a couple similar threads recently that got out of hand, and I'm really hoping that this one will stay civil (and many thanks to those of you who participated in those topics, and kept a reasonable tone, as I really do appreciate it). I really don't want to shut this thread down, as the majority of members of this site are very reasonable people, but I will if I have to. If anyone has any problems, questions, jokes, or concerns, don't hesitate to pm me. I don't bite, I swear. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

There's actually one on the about page, down towards the bottom. We just don't like to get in people's faces with it.

Words of Radiance Debuts at #1 on NY Best Sellers List
Rubix replied to DragonReborn's topic in Stormlight Archive
It is the first time he's hit #1 on his own. He hit #1 with all three WoT books, but other than those, his high was #7 for both Way of Kings and Alloy of Law. -
Words of Radiance Debuts at #1 on the NYT Bestseller list!
Rubix posted a article in Brandon and Book News
As you may or may not have known (Oh who am I kidding, you're here, you know.), but Words of Radiance came out last week. What you may or may not have known is that so far, it's been selling REALLY well. So well, in fact, that it debuted at the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list. While this isn't his first time at the top of the list, this is the first time Brandon has hit the number one spot on the list for one of his solo books. Up to now, all three of the Wheel of Time books that he coauthored with the late Robert Jordan hit #1, but his solo books have hit as high as #7 (Way of Kings and Alloy of Law both hit that spot). All of us here at 17th Shard hoped that Brandon would finally have the honor on his own, and now he's got it! Many congratulations to Brandon, and all the rest of Team Sanderson! More details can be found here on Tor.com -
Welcome to the site! Awesome to hear that you've enjoyed Brandon's works! Please take a quick look over the forum rules here, and then have a good time!

Who is going to be coming to the WoR release party at BYU?
Rubix replied to Rubix's topic in Events and Signings
We will be, definitely. -
Who is going to be coming to the WoR release party at BYU?
Rubix replied to Rubix's topic in Events and Signings
He does that with his normal signings. With the release, you'll get your book in line order, then you'll have the option of having Brandon personalize WoR, and sign other books you may have brought. -
Hey everyone, we're just trying to get a tally of all the awesome sharders who are going to be flashing their safehand at the WoRelease and how late people are going to be staying. We're just trying to get a better idea of what the night is going look like, and this will help us out with that a lot! Thanks for letting us know, guys!

Welcome! Glad you're here, if you follow the hallway, you'll see spikes, windrunners, and somewhere around here I've heard there's a magical looking glass. Have fun, and keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times!

If she's the most hated person in the world, what does that make me?

Social hierarchy is fine. Putting two hypothetical Rosharan men into a prison cell and one of them automatically becoming feminine? Definitively NOT OKAY, and anyone with two brain cells to rub together should be able to discern that. As for anyone thinking that it's funny, okay, or tolerated, you're absolutely right. And our tolerance of any of this crap stops NOW.

If you honestly believe that there haven't been any rape jokes in this thread, Alaxel, perhaps you should clarify EXACTLY what you meant by this.

Windy, fair warning, I may have to have some fun with your book, if I see it. -
There are more. A lot more. You just haven't found them yet.
