  1. f-gold medallion just in case, for the purpose of safe spike removal?
  2. I'm sure some clever soul will make compounder-friendly variations of sports for the entertainment value.
  3. Also, Compounders are probably going to be banned since they could mess with even their carefully regulated intake of metal very easily. Steel compounding especially could be tricky to deal with.
  4. Lifespren? ---- one of my favorite mini theories is that Stoneward plate is made of Painspren, but i dunno if that tracks with the current patterns. Mmm. dustbringers having flamespren would make sense imo. While it would be absolutely badass for Skybreakers to have Starspren for their plate (because Highspren look like rifts to outer space), I have a feeling those things are a little too rare and... majestic to be reduced to forming Plate. Willshapers using captivityspren could be an interesting thematic twist, but that may be the literal opposite of the truth. And for truthwatchers, i mean, i'm stumped. No guesses from me.
  5. I believe there is a WoB that it varies slightly depending on the order.
  6. Sounds like plain old Quartz to me, or at least the white variety in minecraft...
  7. I mean, at the risk of sounding a bit cheesy... "UNITE"?
  8. Primer Cube?
  9. The Bronze Pulses are likely Rhythms derived from Preservation, especially the pulsing of the Well of Ascension itself being the Rhythm of Preservation. So, it is a cosmere wide phenomena, you just need to be given "ears" for it. Either innately, like a Listener, or as a power, like a Seeker.
  10. Emphasis mine, so yes you're right, it may be something like that or like a fabrial cage. Either or. Maybe the metal plates work with his gemheart to have an effect like a fabrial cage.
  11. Actually, Nightblood's sheath is Aluminum, and we've seen a Fused block him using it at the battle of Thaylen Field. So yes, it would protect El from Nightblood.
  12. Yeah, you're probably right. That's what I thought at first too, basically.
  13. I'd definitely take Surgebinding (specifically Lightweaver if it was for real life), for all the reasons explained above pretty much. The endless supply of Stormlight healing would help me stop stressing out so much, and I'm not sure but I think the mental tweak of it might actually mesh well with my ADHD, like how Caffeine helps me focus instead of just making me jittery. As for why Lightweaver specifically I'd mostly be picking it for the Soulcasting, but also because having a Cryptic buddy would help cover my weak math skills Which is why I wouldn't say Elsecaller for the soulcasting and transportation. Plus, I like Lightweaving with Illumination too. Instant cosplay! I'd probably try to hone my skills at Soulcasting actually palatable foods, rather than just plain grain or bland meat (I think pure soulcast meat is probably bland because it defaults to something like chicken breast; all protein and no fat). If nothing else, I could always have a stock of basic ingredients on hand, freeing up my budget for stuff like spices or fancier things like expensive cuts of steak.
  14. I love his phrasing there: "he's perturbed." That feels like such a nice way of phrasing his actual feelings towards his predicament.
  15. Dang, now you've got me thinking about listener/dragon hybrids. I mean, both of them can change shape, no? I wonder if that would produce metal carapace- Wait. WAIT. No, no no no. El's metal plates aren't natural... Or do they just seem that way because who in their right mind would think that metal carapace is natural for a Singer?? No no no this is crazy shut up me this is dumb. But...
  16. I mean, that's no different than clocks on satellites high in earth's orbit ticking faster because of gravitational time dilation being reduced by the greater distance to Earth.
  17. The main issue I have is with the wording of being "removed" from the Terris people, as in, once a part of them, then disowned/etc. Dalinar has never been Terris and probably never would if the rest of the events this theory proposes comes to pass.
  18. I do like the idea of the Iriali being more invested than average because of shardic intervention, and I would certainly enjoy it being due to an entire Shard splintering itself and scattering its Investiture across the entire people. Feels kinda like Endowment but taken to its functional limit, where there is no longer a central shard giving handouts, and the shard IS the handouts now, passed down through generations of Iriali. Tidereading could be a fun minor arcana involving futuresight, but I feel like that might just be a Roshar/frequency thing, waves, yknow. A clever application of the meaning of "wave" in english, where we call both Light and water oscillations 'waves".
  19. That reminds me of the Well more than anything; a miniature version of Ascending to a shard for a brief time. Which I guess isn't wholly out of place if you think about how Atium is made and what it represents (a separated fraction of Ruin's investiture, much like the liquid in the Well is a separate fraction of Preservation's investiture).
  20. Let's see if I can find some WoBs that contradict this. Hmm, not quite. Let me keep looking... The footnote there especially makes me wonder. Hm. Maybe it isn't as clear-cut as I was remembering. Oh well!
  21. Supposedly it Connects you to the Spiritual Realm a little bit, and that's why Duralumin-boosting it a la Elend at the end of HoA gives you a total vision of future-sight, because you break through and actually "see" the SR in a way that you can comprehend because of the mental boost of Atium also being enhanced by Duralumin.
  22. Okay, fair enough, but I'm not certain if that's entirely an obstacle to the idea. It would depend on Nale's exact wording/intent of his Oath, but if he really did swear loyalty to "the Dawnsingers," and not just "the leader of the Dawnsingers," then fighting on the same side as Leshwi would be just as valid. Right? Her separate group still wants to live on Roshar, that goal hasn't changed, it's just that they're no longer choosing to follow Odium to achieve that goal. Unless I've mist (...gonna leave that typo there) something critical?
  23. The main quirk with the Phantoms necessarily touches a little more on Warbreaker spoilers, so I'll be guarding that here (just because I'm a bit paranoid about spoiling things): But this quirk could probably be compensated for if the Soulcast statues had as much care put into them as I think a funeral statue would have. Regardless, the stone having once been a real, living human would probably aid Awakening them, though i'm not sure if it would only cost 1 Breath like a modern, regular Lifeless made from a regular dead body, complete with ichor-alcohol. Side note; I'm fairly certain Ichor-Alcohol's function is to help prevent tissue decay, so that things like muscles don't wear down as quickly without living blood to keep things tidy and clean.
  24. I'm skeptical he would exist as a CS in any major capacity, but there was a fair bit of his physical form left over even after dropping the Shard, so maybe there's something drifting around...
  25. It's like poetry, it rhymes. I do think that Brandon had Ambition be splintered for a very important reason down the line, not just to give us a minor Shardworld for an interesting story premise. I mean, come on, it's an ENTIRE SHARD. He has something in mind for it, and yeah. Kelsier could fit very well with the Intent of Ambition. The main 2 obstacles are, like you said, accumulating Ambition's investiture in a form that Kelsier can access (so, condensing it into Uli-Daium, or i guess since there's no Vessel, Ambitium, as you said), as well as making sure Kel is properly Connected to the Physical Realm again, as Ati pointed out while Kel was briefly Preservation. I'm curious what sort of properties Kelsium would have, as the new god-metal of Ambition. I'd bet that Kel would want it to be useful in the Metallic Arts, seeing as how he's Scadrian and so are probably a lot of Ghostbloods, but... Hmm. What would be thematically fitting...
