  1. Oh yeah, you're right... Dang, this is gonna be fun.
  2. I'm hoping for something like Atium to show up on screen, but (obviously) not be useable... Unless Navani gets her hands on it and makes a fabrial cage for science.
  3. Okay, you make a good point: context probably matters more than we've been giving it credit for, and you're right about that setup for sure.
  4. That would be some storming fine poetic justice indeed. Now I kind of want Hoid to sneakily hint at the metals having other purposes to get the gears turning in Navani's mind, and consequently finding out some additional effects.
  5. Okay maybe not his son, but one of his descendants?
  6. I feel like there could be something to this? after all, Nale seems to believe there's a legitimate threat that the modern Radiants could become powerful enough to destroy Roshar (but then again, he and Ishar are both insane, so eeehhh)... I can't remember the exact wording but it's something along the lines of "previous restrictions on [the Radiants'] powers have been lifted" in relation to Honor's splintering.
  7. Well the strength bit, sure. But I'm talking like the sense of balance and stamina also. Still, good to know.
  8. I think I've seen a WoB pertaining to this... Let's see... Oh. Yep. Well that's kinda terrifying but Frustration pointed out why Endowment wouldn't. Edit: wouldn't ordinarily* Edit 2: Found this WoB as well: Huh, from the same questioner. Lol.
  9. Pewter compounding is the most broadly useful for doing general "real life" work, because of A-Pewter's general physical enhancements and F-Pewter's ability to increase your muscle mass. You could be so useful in so many occupations that would pay a pretty penny for someone with those capabilities... (This goes doubly so if Reverse Compounding is as I theorize: being able to store the normal Allomantic output of a metal inside the matching metalmind. So you could tap huge amounts of Allomantic Pewter to do incredible feats like surviving being hit by a boulder or something.)
  10. I ship it, I think. It'd be a heck of a boon, what on earth might the curse be? Being mortal, I suppose?
  11. Your only hope is to somehow slaughter enough Returned with an atium spike to get several Divine Breaths, enough to equal 50,000 regular Breaths. And somehow I doubt Endowment is going to approve of that. So maybe just don't.

    Obligatory "There's always another secret"
  13. I have a sneaking suspicion it will take all 3 of them to truly fix Maya and make her "alive" again.
  14. So the question becomes how/why did he leave Scadrial to come to Roshar? Given my knowledge of the overall timeline, this would be a few years before the Wax and Wayne books are set in Era 2, and, uh... A Full Feruchemist in that time period would be really noteworthy. Especially if he just vanished abruptly, or even if he just allegedly "died", people would remember him. I don't remember anyone like that being brought up in the Era 2 books, so... Dunno. I agree however that it's a weird detail to point out in the prologue, and I want to believe that he's a Feruchemist, but I just don't see how, yet.
  15. random crackpot thought; what if this person is a Radiant who's subspren (like windspren for windrunners) is the spren that Spanreeds use normally, and so they made a "proper" Spanreed ruby by "requesting" that subspren to inhabit the gemstone?
  16. *Mind Blown*
  17. Woah. That's really interesting! I skimmed through the different types and uh, wow, Shallan is totally a type 4... But I digress. Type 1 definitely suits Kaladin, and I agree that Lirin is probably the same.
  18. Same. Guess it's a futile effort to base the name on the Unmade. If cousinspren are called Lesser Spren, and radiant spren are called True Spren, could these fabrial-oriented, powerful Spren be Greater Spren? And of course the three Bondsmith Spren have been referred to as Godspren before, being powerful enough and closely tied enough to the Shards of Roshar.
  19. That sounds like it applies to the Spren prior to being enhanced... Postmade? Sounds like Odium's mail service...
  20. Fair enough, but I still feel like "Remade" should be reserved for if we ever see someone "cure/fix" an Unmade back to being of Honor/Cultivation. My brain wants to make up a new prefix to differentiate the "Made" from the Remade without just calling them "Made".
  21. But why would those true spren grant Surges to Voidbringer-humans? I suppose Ashspren might like them, but what about Honorspren, Cultivationspren? I can't see those spren agreeing with what those "original surgebinders" were doing and giving them access to a surgepair to facilitate it. Alright, that I can certainly agree with.
  22. But they weren't Unmade and then restored. So they'd just be Made then.
  23. The reason the Singers never discovered "Radiant spren" prior to the desolations is that they simply didn't exist, not in the way we know them currently. The first Radiants were made as a mimicry of the Honorblades, so the Heralds had to be a thing, fighting the Desolations, for at least some amount of time for Honorspren and the others to go "hey, wait a second, I can do that too". And then after proto-radiants became a thing, Ishar founded the Ideals to keep their power levels in check so their Surgebinding couldn't grow endlessly and become incredibly destructive if wielded by the wrong individual.
  24. I personally pictured the Spheres' gemstones as being varying sizes of Round cut. Maybe that's my bias towards modern "coin" shapes (round/disk) though.
  25. Hence why I'd pick Copper. You can hide your other Allomancy, and people (seekers) won't be suspicious when there's no allomantic pulses coming from anyone near you.
