Tels stared, unsure what to think of the situation. Max and his wife, were in no position to bargain, and were obviously being blackmailed into controlling the Phoenix. Tels felt a sort of sympathy for them, but that was unimportant right now. The fate of the Aleycity very well might be resting in Max’s shoulders, and Tels would not be the one to stand in the way of that. It would work... for now. Not the way that Tels has intended, but it would work. “Alright,” Tels said. “Does he have enough zinc to control the Phoenix?”

When Tels heard the inquiry about pancakes, he nearly stumbled. “I- what- no! Look around you! Didn’t you feel the Phoenix? Something’s gone terribly wrong, we’ve got to regain control of the Phoenix somehow!” As Tels looked at the man in Alask’s arm in broad daylight, the realization hit him. “Oh no... that’s Max, isn’t it?” Tels looked up at Lena, straight in the eyes. “Tell me you mean to help him gain conscious, get him to stop the Phoenix.” @Sorana

Tels at last caught up to them, trying to catch his breath. “Who,” he said, pointing to the man in Alask’s arms, “the heck is that? What do you mean, the ‘Enemy?’”

Tels raced through the Alleyverse sewer system, using tendrils of sand to push off of the walls around him and rocket through the tunnels, the walls becoming a blur all around him. He was beginning to feel a little dehydrated, but that was the least of his concerns right now. What had gone wrong? The Phoenix was supposed to be under control right now, but instead, it was hard to keep one’s sanity with that... force pulsing through you. Tels has fallen to his knees shaking when he felt the wave of allomancy from the Phoenix. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Tels continued to look for disturbances in the blur around him to indicate that there was something other than stone surrounding him. He needed to find Max, or Alask and Lena. As far as Tels knew, Max was the only way to control the Phoenix, but that had obviously failed. It was unlikely that anything could be done with the man, but it was worth a shot. It was the only shot Tels had left. Tels continued shooting along the tunnels, when finally, he noticed something to his right. He slowed down, and went back to the tunnel he spotted people in. In there, he found a man and a woman, both unconscious, covered in numerous cuts and bruises. The woman looked especially bad, maybe poison or the likes of it. They were being carried by Alask and Lena, both wearing cheap disguises. Alask merely had a beard on, and Lena a fake nose. He ran up to them, covering the distance in as quick a time as he could manage. “How in the name of Aisha did this screw up so badly?!” Tels yelled, still running towards them. “What’s storming going on here anyways?”

This, unfortunately, made them cry even harder.

I’m back from Philmont. I couldn’t ask for more.
