    There is a 50 - 50 chance for it being intentional or it being coincidental. Brandon loves adding little Easter Eggs for devoted fans to find. You may have just found one, or it may have been an accident. He has admitted that almost all of his characters and species have been either directly or indirectly influenced by either a book, character in another book, life experiences, or person in his life.

    I am going to assume that when you said “Adol” you meant Adonalsium. He is so powerful because of what he is. Preservation couldn’t destroy a shard, it isn’t in its nature. Cultivation helps growth, not destruction. Honor wouldn’t be able to because it would be morally wrong. Odium however, means hatred. He hates any opposition so he works to defeat it, and he has that power. Ruin could also have that power, but he is bound to Scadrial and isn’t at his full power, because he doesn’t have his body. If he was unbound from Scadrial and had his body, he would have more power than Odium, but not the experience.

    When you take a standardized test and are told to bring a book to read when you are done. You instead bring a stack of books and manage to read all of them right then and there.

    Thank you Chaos! You are the best! Without you this server wouldn’t be the amazing, friendly, safe place for everyone to hangout on! I appreciate it so much! I am honestly the same way, ever single group project or assignment, I divide the work unequally, giving myself a larger portion. Then, I go ahead and do all the work anyway. Then I check it again. Then I let people go and do their part (but afterwards I always check to make sure they didn’t mess it up)! You are the best! Thank you for your time and effort!

    Airheaded people can be happy and deserve things, but Shallan specifically makes stupid decisions and puts odd restrictions on herself. She has awesome powers, but she doesn't practice enough with them, she still needs to draw in detail whatever she wants to Lightweave.

    Shallan doesn’t deserve her powers, or Adolin, or anything of worth/value because she is airheaded.

Also, you don't know the fear of Chaos until you are in a PM, talking with friends, and he starts talking to you when he isn't a member of the PM... But really though, Chaos is great, he does what is best for the site, and without him, this would be an entirely different place. Thank you, Chaos!

    I was rereading The Stormlight Archive in preparation for The Rhythm of War release, and I thought that Kaladin has one major restriction, he is tied up in his past failures. He can never get past them. This reminds me of an Epic in the Reckoners. The spoiler below will tell the epic's name, DON'T OPEN UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THE SERIES. If a character in the Cosmere manifested Epic powers, what would each of their weaknesses be, and what is your reasoning? PS: I am sorry if this is in the wrong discussion board, I wasn't sure where to put it if it spans both Cosmere and Non-Cosmere books, just tell me where I need to move it or do it yourself if you have that power. Thanks!

    I have been a little inactive on the Shard and just saw this. Yes, turns out that it wasn't a concussion, just a REALLY REALLY bad lump on my head. The doctor actually thought that I had a concussion when I walked in but then scans said he was wrong. Instead, I threw out my back while doing a standing back tuck, but I have healed from that too.

    On top of that, he wouldn't use "H" because then it wouldn't be a perfect Vorin sequence, and does any word better describe the Cosmere than "Perfect".

    Think about it, Brandon has set himself up for a Vorin book series. The current sequence goes like this. WoK - WoR - O - RoW Book 5 would make it symmetrical!!! WoK - WoR - O - RoW - KoW It just makes sense!!!

    I think that Shallan will die, and I am perfectly fine with that. Her powers could accomplish so much, but she restricts herself with her personalities and the crutch of drawing what she wants to Lightweave. Also, she is whiny.

    This is a good theory, but I think that the Oathgate itself is the cause. A big circle slammed down with magic into the plains, and everything shattered. I think that from that point a surge was used, probably the surge of division, to harness that destruction into a symmetrical pattern instead of a mess of broken pieces.

    Halloween is coming up, generally I dress up as a character from a book (Not a movie, I don’t watch many of those). This year I want to dress up as Hoid, the only problem is that as a master of disguise. He changes his appearance often, so there isn’t one solid description. I challenge the 17th Shard community to do this, come up with a profile for Hoid that is most like him. Go forth my friends, serve me well!
