Could Oathgates be built and activated on other Cosmere worlds?
Karger replied to Ryan Diggory's question in Cosmere Q&A
We don't know the nity gritty of how Oathgates work. While near instantaneous transportation is possible in most magic systems getting them to work together sounds difficult. -
Nalthis does not sound bad. I kinda want to go to era 3 Scadrial.
-
This is the sort of question I realy don't like not because it is bad but because we have absolutely no frame of reference in how to handle it. None of us realy know how much stronger you get if you use multiple beads or even how to evaluate Mistborn strength.

Do you have a death wish?

Normal plate nowadays is still keyed to the identity of its old bearer so the two investitures would interfere with each other. If you make your own plate that is no longer a problem.

But the Stormfather claims that Ishar held Honor's power or at least part of it. A shard could certainly change a magic system and I would not put it past Ishar to hammer in some rules to govern the magic system. The rest of the statement is kind of important there.

Throughout his interludes in tWoK, Szeth repeatedly uses lashing with his blades dismissed. Most notably in Death Wears White when he shocks the Vedens by dismissing the blade, before wading in and taking them all out with lashings and Kemmer. If this is truly a limitation, it's only to the Investiture source, and not to the surgebinding. Szeth is not a Herald so he needs spheres just like a Radiant would. Perhaps you can only draw from Honor with the blade out(If you are not a Herald). But Lift tries to defeat him by wearing him down because she knows there are a limited number of spheres. She could be wrong to do this but Wyndel agrees with the strategy. I am unsure if this is significant or not.

The stoneward's mouth continued to move but no one noticed except the Truthwatcher(and the Lightweaver who had put the illusion of silence over him).
-
His spren is also fairly new so it might just be taking some time to acclimate to its new status.

Did you cry: Responding to the saddest moments in the cosmere
Karger replied to ShardShaper's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't think I have cried but I got closest with the battle of Luthadel. -
It could also imply something else. Often you can infer something drastic happening by the lack of something that normally would be there. Like if you walked into NY and it was dead quite you could tell something was up. Perhaps the ketek refers to a sudden lack of either everstorm or highstorm when we all expect one. This could indicate either victory or an apparent victory undercut by something else.

Perhaps but a rod of pure investiture would explain some of the problems we have with the system. If you create a rod as you use it...

You could make it so that no one knows where the power comes from and as such a bunch of different people have different theories on the source of the magic. Alternatively magic could take energy from the natural world(the biosphere is weakened when magic is done) from any source of energy that humans normally use(wind, solar, various fuels, the winds) or even from within your own body. You could also just break thermodynamics and say that magic comes from whatever controls it and that is that.

This might be the most random thought ever posted here but
Karger replied to Necessary Eagle's topic in Stormlight Archive
They could actually use glyphs for everything on the PC sheet and mathematics are somewhat masculine. -
Child of Tanavast / Child of Honor --> now with WoB
Karger replied to Winds Alight's topic in Stormlight Archive
No actually he is Honor's. Tanavast was the human holding Honor's power that produced the Stormfather. -
Alright here goes. Atium allows an individual to glimpse the future via the spiritual realm in which all times are one. Because it is Ruin's essence people believe that it makes them better killers via allowing them to see the future in combat. I don't think it tracks the spiritual aspect I believe it tracks a person's intentions if that makes any sense. Alternatively it just tracks the body but in the future. Either way I don't think that Szeth could fool it(although we don't realy understand what Nale did that well).

Child of Tanavast / Child of Honor --> now with WoB
Karger replied to Winds Alight's topic in Stormlight Archive
Alternatively it could just be that individuals who know more about Honor use his given name while others just use Honor as a generic. -

So, under this system the more you did magic the more magic you could use.

Luther swung with his blade missing but then slapped the attacker with an open hand and and a full lashing upward.

Similar problem. Brandon generally does not talk much about unpublished works and he has so far refused to answer questions about Trell.

Intriguing. Care to elaborate?
