Skybrekers, Edgedancers and Windrunners all get blades at the 3rd ideal Bondsmiths do not get blades. We have no evidence of any other order getting blades at any other ideal. Shallan did not get Pattern until she was around 8 if I remember correctly. A truth does not have to be dramatic it just has to be true. Some of her truths are different. I am terrified I can be happy. I personally do not think that Shallan has ever earned her armor but I also don't think we will get her full backstory until she swears the final ideal.

If his punishment was in error then the entire foundation of his belief system is flawed. Yes that means that he is no longer punished but it also means that if he had been a bit smarter he would have been able to prevent countless wars and death. This is the kind of revelation that would leave anyone confused and a little crazy. Also Szeth lets Kaladin kill him once he realizes that Kaladin is right. Kaladin managed to fall 40 feat while testing his abilities without mastering the lashings yet. This indicates that stormlight allows you to survive blunt force trauma without damage. Kaladin also falls with Szeth without lashing himself and survives. Kaladin's bond with Syl is weakening but it does not compleatly die until he falls and Syl sacrifices herself to give him that last bit of stormlight(he herd her screams when he killed her). More like his recklessness. Remember Sadeas is killing hundreads of Parshendi every few days. His most aggressive and reckless tendencies are at the forefront. Dalinar had planned on doing something similar for some time before then. Kaladin's appearance just made a good opportunity. Remember he bonded the blade in secret and then left it for Ameram to find as a test of his honor. He new for a fact that Ameram had failed the test so he chose a good opportunity to tell him that he new. He chose that exact moment because Kaladin was present(giving Amaram's moral compass time to prod at him) and because it was a public venue so Ameram could not spin the encounter to his advantage latter(there were to many witnesses). There are even larger gemstones that hold a charge for even longer(they are just not used as currency). A surgebinder can move stormlgiht between gemstones. So Szeth could have gotten a huge gemestone(like the gemhearts from the casmerefiends for example) and tranfered some it if's stormlight into a smaller gemstone for convenience. Also a week is more of an average. Some gemstones hold for a bit longer.

Depends what you mean about knowledgeable doesn't it? A shard's mind is expanded and able to retain and analyze information from many magical sources much faster then any human. Kriss may have done the reading but a shard can make educated guesses that come close about a verity of topics that Kriss has no knowledge of. I do not think that Kriss knows more about Rosharan history then say Cultivation. I think generally Brandon just meant magical and physical knowledge not necessarily historical or sociological.

They would ascend become Andoalnasium. They would also probably be torn apart by the different intents of the shards they were holding.

Finished all published cosmere... so far

Are you absolutely 100% sure? -
Spren are fragments of the powers of creation that have since then gained sentience through the influence of sapient beings on Roshar.[2] They are vastly varied in their appearances, characteristics, and levels of intelligence.[3] Most spren consist of the essences of Honor and Cultivation, or a mixture of both that leans towards either one Shard or the other.

How many Aons can you keep going at once?
Karger replied to Karger's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I was wondering if you could get an Aon to "think" and produce an Aon itself. This would be handy for finding all the Aons used in numbers for example. -
New to group...not new to Brandon...
Karger replied to Mistborn knight's topic in Introduce Yourself!
why so many ...? -
While technically true spren are more accurately described splinters of Honor Cultivation or Odium. Other cognitive entities exist but on Roshar we only realy care about those three.

We don't. Stoneward's spren are still unknown. Also their are types of spren that are not radiantspren that are still sapiant.

I for one would not allow the Shard Honor to dictate to me what is honorable. The fact that the vessel holding the shard of binding chose to interpret the intent of that shard as honor does not mean that he was correct.
-
No, we do not. Their are a bunch of fan theories. In my head cannon they are aidspren or perhaps lovespren.

Their are ways of gaining immortality that a scholar of Kriss's level would know about and could access. As far as we know though she is just using CR time dilation the way many 17th shard members do.

1. Edgedancers seem to don't care that much about what we conventionally call Honor. Their ideals are about helping others not engaging in justice or maintaining fairness. In fact the only order that I can see finding logical in that kind of fairness is the one that did not break their oaths(skybreakers). 2. Skybreakers don't care about the results of their actions only that they are consistent in their oaths.

My first time making a fantasy world. Critique wanted!
Karger replied to Nohadon's topic in Creator's Corner
The group of different specialists is an obvious and often unavoidable trope in much of fantasy. While not a writer myself I think the best way around this trope is to give the characters traits that don't immediately seem to be in line with their character archetype. You are already doing this by making your most charming character a fighter and your artificer a beauty and a mute. Treating characters like people with agency is important. -
According to Brandon even bacteria shape the CR to some extent although not as much as humans do. Also not only scholars think about their environment on a regular bases. Even normal humans read maps for example.

Odium's effect on planets: Why is Sel OK?
Karger replied to cometaryorbit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In addition Sel might have been much easier for Odium as he could have been able to essentially ambush the two shards residing their and then leave. In your other examples the fallout was all the result of extended shard battles. What we see on Sel could have been more like a well planned assassination. -
It is his attempt at writing romance so that is to be expected.

Traveling off of round worlds in the Cognitive Realm
Karger replied to King of Herdaz's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It is arbitrary the short answer is that everyone's perception counts. The group of beings on earth with the largest cognitive aspect "humans" largly do not see Alaska as next to Russia so they are not.- 22 replies
