  1. We actually know something about Eshonai herself. The dichotomy between her desire to be responsible and her desire to give up responsibility is incredibly interesting. Her search for something new at the expense of her responsibilities caused her people's downfall with her discovery of the humans. So she went back the other way and began looking to the old for salvation. This lead to her martyrdom but no real results for her people. This is all a fascinating character study but all we realy know about Venli is that she was selfish at the expense of her fellows and now regrets it thanks to her loneliness and Tamber's influence. Even that has not much been explored. Those are not realy that interesting. She was power hungry and got tricked by someone. Now she mostly regrets the result but still has mixed feelings. This is an interesting setup but nothing has actually been done.
  2. Cough! Cough! Hrathen But what about Cultivation? She could be either depending on context. Also what about Autonomy I could see arguments from both sides.
  3. You take anything Beard says seriously?
  4. Have you seen Tvlakv recently? He is not dead. What about Relis? What about his cousin Elit?
  5. Grounds teeth.
  6. The point was that he might not being doing that yet.
  7. Maybe. We don't realy know much about Ishar. I agree that it is most likely Kelek but Ishar's pious and guiding could be opposites by ignoring the problem and the person with the problem(exactly the opposite of good behavior from a priest of any denomination).
  8. Because he wants David and Co to know where he is and what he is doing.
  9. Well it is almost certainly a male Herald. Assuming otherwise just leads to ridiculousness. There are 5 male Heralds total. It is not Nale(he can't talk to himself), Jezrien(he is by the statue), or Taln(he is in Braize). It could theoretically be Ishar we have no idea what he looks like after all but I doubt it as he a god king in the west and his absence would be noteworthy. These are both true beyond reasonable doubt. His final guess was Sadeas although he was only guessing from the context. Sadeas was the diversionary individual who should have drawn Szeth away. Brandon confirms they were on good terms at the time. I will add that some speculate that Liss(the assassin that Jasnah meets) is actually the Herald Chana(patron of Dustbringers) although I personally disagree. Still the fact that Jasnah almost had her sister in law killed is noteworthy. She also had her first encounter with Ivory that day(that we know of). Her childhood madness is mentioned in passing and this has given many people cause for speculation. Szeth and Eshonai were both given black spheres by king Gavilar(we currently believe these to have contained unmade or at least voidspren). Many people think that the many ringed steward is actually a feruchemist(although we tend to think this about anyone with metal jewelry). You may be able to get some information by looking at Torr's stomlight reread(they have one for every chapter of every book except Oathbringer).
  10. Arsteel but Artsteal is a way better name. We should totally ask Brandon to change it.
  11. Exactly
  12. I agree with @RShara. What you are proposing is transforming someone at a fundamental level contrary to their will. I person has to on a fundamental level want to change before progression can realy help them.
  13. Huh? Where does it talk about Kelsier being "too independent" for devices? The Bands of Morning are essentially one giant uber-medallion. And his whole schtick is that of crew leader - he builds up a crew of diverse people and relies on them to do their jobs. Kelseir always kept his own council and did not like to rely on others. Kelseir was using those crew members and relied on his own ability to manipulate them. He figured them out and knew what he was doing. He was also not stupid and knew that he needed them(I see no other realistic way he could use to achieve his goals). Considering that he was already a fullborn(we think/are pretty sure since he would need to be to create the bands) the bands must be for a different purpose.
  14. Maybe he will have to go off world. He does not have to die.

    Trell is Trell?

I know of no trolls in the cosmere.
  16. Probably not. At least I have never herd of such a thing. You might find a thread with a similar topic but it will likely be a bit out of date.
  17. Or maybe he will just fulfill his purpose and then return to looking for horizon spren.
  18. The ideal of law reminds me of the zeroth law of robotics from Asimove's I-Robot series.
  19. What? If no one else can make a good movie then does not the one place that can deliver deserve to get payed for making movies?
  20. This was my assumption after reading Oathbringer.
  21. I don't think that Kelseir would have considered those seriously as an option. He is far too independent to rely on a device. @kingsdaughter613 solution makes more sense.
