Question on the Technology Level of South Scadrial
Karger replied to scudalarm's question in Cosmere Q&A
The probably lost most of their tec during the ice death. Not realy. If you drop a team of highly trained marines into the Japan of several thousand years ago. My money is still on them dying due to numerical disadvantage. Even the best gun runs out of ammo eventually. -
Can highspren go invisible? I mean Wyndle says yes but I would not put it past Gavilar to figure out some way of detecting them. Also all Gavilar has to do to stop this is making spying on the king illegal(I bet it already is actaully).

Nightblood takes stormlight from the light Szeth is carrying with him in Oathbringer(this is prior to him becoming a skybreaker) so apparently that is good enough. First of all Nightblood has limits. He was made by "humans" and exists in the "real world." Consuming everything in the SR does not seem like a probable thing he can do. Nightblood destroys the physical cognitive and spiritual aspects of the entity he is used on when he kills them. He also powers himself off of your natural investiture if you run out. That is it. Unknown. According to Brandon if you get enough investature in one place it will form a perpendicularity and Nightblood is the most invested object in the Cosmere(and is becoming more so). Make of this what you will. Some black smoke does leak off of Nightblood when he is being used. Brandon called this corrupted investiture. All of what investiture? Nightblood does this because he is super invested. Pretty much everything made by awakening does the same.

nanotec is still in its infancy in many ways. We actually do have some but it is not nearly as good as it would need to be. Also powering the bots in the manner you suggest sounds extraordinarily difficult and they would run out of power fairly eventually even given a good power source(meaning you could just run down your LR). In other news welcome to the shard! -
Could Honor build a Death Star with Battar?
Karger replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Odium is shackled to Braize by the powers of Honor and Cultivation. Odium is not going to grant anyone the power to destroy a planet because then they would probably be a shard too and Odium wants to decrease the number of shards not increase it. -
But Honor says we don't have the Dawnshards anymore(he would have clued us in on the one we still do have if he could). Also they are supposed to bond any kind of spren(tat does not make sense if they are spren themselves).

You would not get the deflection of blaster bolts(the thing that makes lightsabers significantly better then vibroblades). Same problem. For most things all you realy need in star wars is an energy field(surge of division basically). The better and more useful effects are part of a different system sorry.
-
That was my interpretation as well. Remember spren find actually killing to be abhorrent. I find it likely that Honorspren attempts to rule were confined to intimidation of some kind. More about posturing then fighting.
-
Honorspren already have wars. "Their attempts to rule shadesmar..." They would likely consider it dishonorable to attack opponents with a distinct military disadvantage. Also they might have a problem with the large number of enemy invaders.

Some people at torr managed to calculate the exact time.

My point was hyperbole designed to demonstrate a point not an argument.

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Karger replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Then why make if Luke at all? If he is not going to be anything like the original Luke then just have another character do his mentoring job instead! -
First. Hahahahahahaha Secondly my impression is this. Gavilar(thoughts): The Parsh must want their gods back because that made them powerful. Everyone wants power. If I can get them to have their gods then their gods will make them go on the offensive against us and great the parsh the power to do so effectively. Potentially this will do several things. 1. Get the Radiants back. When the enemy comes I am going to need them(and would be realy nice to be one). 2. Make everyone in power suspicious of their Parshe servants. When people you associate with your slaves develop superpowers it is noteworthy. 3. Keep my kingdom together and solidify my authority to the point where my empire can last for several generations(nothing does this better then dangerous enemies) 4. Restart research into the ancient threats of the desolation(the parshe, voidbinding, the unmade, and Odium). We want to be prepared. In summary Gavilar's plan is to kick off the desolation early. He wants to solidify his power and prevent the conflict from starting on his enemie's terms. However doing so will be tricky. Gavilar would clearly need errand boys(and girls) to secretly prep his country(and other countries) for the desolation that he is going to kick off. Amaram and the Sons of Honor fit the bill nicely. Their religious nature, and self righteousness makes them easy to manipulate and many of them are military officials or scholars. Perfect for what he wants. This is where things get tricky. Gavilars research and actions is going to make waves even if he is careful and it strikes me that some of the more aware Heralds(like Nale) are likely to notice his activities. They would certainly investigate him and the results could be any of the following. 1. Gavilar knows, suspects or figures out the divine identities of the people he is interviewing. He adopts his Son of Honor persona to gain information from them and let them continue thinking they duped him. 2. Gavilar knows, suspects or figures out the divine identities of the people he is interviewing. He tells them the truth and they don't like it. As a result they pretend to agree with his goals and latter allow(or possibly aid in) his assassination. 3. Gavilar does not know the identities of the Heralds and instead is trying to go global with his goals. As a result they pretend to agree with his goals and latter allow(or possibly aid in) his assassination. 4. Gavilar knows, suspects or figures out the divine identities of the people he is interviewing. He tells them the truth and they all agree to secretly work on a project together. This is interrupted by his assassination and Nale has to start hunting down all of Gavilar's agents who no longer know what they are doing. Gavilar. This could be necessary and I find this interesting. Continue. I think everything else can be explained by what I said. Or really useful. Thrill on command for example.

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker

The original movies. Heck even some of the better books. -
But what about Bradvin's thing? "She" probably maintains more shardworlds then just the two we know about.
-
This implies that at least 6 more shardworlds exist(that we don't know about).
-
I am talking about early book Hrathen. He has no real faith or emotional connection to his religion yet he is highly devoted to it anyway. Autonomy can be seen as the direct opposite of Honor who you see as an orderly shard. However I tend to see Autonomy as an orderly shard as well(preventing interference is orderly) so both of these shards are opposites and orderly.
-
The shard of twist endings should be murdered immediately.
-
Unless Odium or the ghoostbloods have a vested intrastate in him being then I think he will be fine yeah
-
Clearly they must have all been killed.
