  1. If you say so. However my statement still stands. Online polls should not be relied on for actual data. I know right? You come up with a well reasoned detailed theory and then you get Brandon WoB smashed by the god beyond themselves. You feel like a fly that just got hit with an assault weapon.
  2. Sure if the real world was a work of literature. It is actually more of the beginning of a new plot line. Adolin has now admitted he can't be the person Dalinar wanted him to be he now has to figure out who he actually is. This is also a possibility. I want to add that it is not like online polling is particularly accurate.
  3. Agreed we are still at the climax stage.
  4. But as a shardblade you can just dismiss it at any time no?

The fact that this is the only decent theory I've made makes me want to come up with more.

Then do so.  Everyone on the forms will be happy to help!

Thanks for the encouragement. It's mostly a matter of a busy schedule, and the fact that it's been a while since I've dived deep enough into Brandon's books to hit upon nuggets worthy of theory crafting. Sometimes it feels like all the good theories have already been thought of. I'll definitely post anything good I think of though. I generally try to. :D

  6. I get that she rubs you the wrong way and no character can please everyone however with characters whose are not obviously terribly written cough cough Anekan(whose name I will not even spell correctly) it is often a good idea to separate your perception of the character with who they are objectively. For example many people like Dany but if you view her objectively you should either pity her or be scared of her destructive potential. I am also with @Config2 I really don't like Dany(she scares me) but that does not mean that she does not deserve a cheer for her breaker of chains moment. Right but with Shallan the cleverness is usually temporary. Sure she outsmarts the ghoostbloods but then they catch up to her similarly. This one definitely comes back to bite her. Shallan has friends? Did I miss something? She is actually. I would probably have stayed catatonic after the first event in her life.
  7. I think he is more of a Dustbringer honestly. The lantern core is very big on different kinds of bravery.
  8. Also most of the shards we have seen tend to think themselves invincible.
  9. She was written to be a bit grating. However it is interesting that it is mostly female characters garnering this response.
  10. It seems my imagination is making up good references today...
  11. What PR tactics is he using? Also everything @The traveller said.
  12. But the starts are about understanding and divination both of which are qualities Claudia possesses. She figures out Ezrin's abilities with animals in just a few hours conversation and she is wise enough to understand the feelings of both her mother and her father on their divorce.
  13. I see there is no hope for you(I never watched).
  14. A few points. Gavilar's marriage to Navani was politically motivated and Dalinar went to great lengths to keep him from figuring out that he also liked her. You think the attraction is obvious but up until mid WoKs he is pretty good at making it seem like she annoys him to the point where she can't figure out that he actually likes her. Gavilar did actually love his brother but he was also kind of a megalomaniac. However I see this as pitiable more then anything else as it made it difficult for him to have real relationships As to him joining the Sons of Honor we don't actually know what he was up to or what he was getting at yet. I do agree that the way he treated Navani and Jasnah was contemptible. However none of this changes that he was in fact a good king. As to his unprovoked attacking of the other highprinces. Alethkar was in a constant state of war after the recreance. It is not like he did not have an ample excuse to attack his neighbors if he wanted it. Also I would actually hazard that a unified alethkar and Kholin rule has been a net possessive to the average Rosharan citizen. He was also an important influence on Dalinar's transformation and that has saved the world. He is of course a problematic figure(most conquerors are) but that does not mean that he is not in some respects worthy of admiration and respect.
  15. Hi are you a lurker?

  16. I am unsure you exist. I might just be Lightweaving your response. Welcome.
  17. Raises eyebrows. Think Game of Thrones. This is how I picture it. To a god or shard the world is like the Game of Thrones TV show only better because you can(at risk to yourself) intervene and make the plot better. That is another think a god or shard finds in the world. A place to take actual risks.
  18. I would be VERY surprised if the blue skin was not a result of breading with siah amians. Perhaps queen Tsa herself was one. This would explain the blue skin portion. To Cultivation a being who never changes I could see endless fascination involved in being mortal as her entire intent is about change. Also in the older myths god being liked humans for our verity and risky nature(it is risky being mortal). Many of them payed attention to puny mortals the same way you pay attention to those little people on the TV screens who act out predictable soap operas. Could you add this to my hall of theories(much better title then the real one) I want to keep track of the best theories on the forms to see how good we are at being right and because it is nice to have them all in once place.
  19. Maybe. I find myself slightly skeptical.
  20. The big A designed Roshar as an investiture sewage plant. None of the shards realize this yet except for Cultivation but it is impossible for any investiture being to leave the place after spending time there. Lift was created in the hope that she would worldhop put down roots and establish herself on another world allowing Cultivation herself to be invested there and as such escape.
  21. But he seems to have had limited agents who could actually locate Hoid for him and he does not seem to have the ability to access the visions for example. He only seemed to gain that latter.
  22. I think they would need a radio receiver they don't have "nature senses" as Syl notes but that really should not be a problem for a soulcaster. They are so easy to make that 12 year old me did it IRL.
