"Years spent in Braize the place you call Damnation..." Nale to Szeth in Oathbringer
-
That is my point. For the most part I don't think those guys had much reason to keep everything at defcon 3. No one was usually in the neighborhood. Also Kelsier was almost spotted a bunch of times. Only his master thief skills kept him from getting caught. On the other hand Nalthis has so many worldhoppers they have to go through customs. I would keep them confused with some weird magic shield tec if I wanted to be left alone. From what I hear so far we should ask Brandon the following. Is the CR anomaly closest to. A. A death star B. A battery C. An old science experiment. D. A corpse E. A fortess F. Some spare Investature G. A secret planet Of H. Some giant spren that Endowment keeps around as a pet Did I miss anything?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you unconsciously look around from some bronze in the morning. -
That I am pretty sure they made this map from the CR. Otherwise how would they be able to detect the asteroid belt. You would need extraordinarily good equipment that they don't yet have on Nalthis. Even if this is a map of the physical realm therefore they would have good reasons to include a CR anomaly especially if it was a potential danger. But Kesleir is a CS and during secret history he was not visible. I could also say splinter but Returned are splinters. I thought spren might make more sense. That IRI fortress was not in a well traveled part of the CR. It is completely possible that they use a lower level of security then a place where trade and regular caravans are a thing. Also Nazh is one of the most skilled and best trained worldhoppers we know of. Of course he would know immediately where they were. They actual expedition of the IRI did have and use some kind of anti shard tec to keep Ruin from spotting them. Many splinters have a physical realm presence(like spren).

I see no reason why you can't make a physical realm drawing from the CR. According to Khriss this is how they study planets that don't have a perpendicularity. I was using the Rosharan term spren to avoid confusion. I considered saying cognitive shadows or splinters but that makes another mess of issues. However I guess it could be a hugenormus spren.

I assumed it was in the CR where things can be stationary. It is after all a cognitive anomaly not a physical one. Maybe she does not no what it is and so decides that charging through a hole that swallows things and does not return them is a bad idea. I came up with that theory last night! An IRI fortress that was built many years ago and since they want to be left alone and Nathis's CR is now regularly traveled so they put up some kind of disruptive magic and now anyone who tries to get close or study the thing can't. Thus, Cognitive Anomaly! A CR deathstar that she has hidden from those pesky mortals?

But he is excellent at not caring also this way we can torture him to death repeatedly.
-
I don't remember that. In either and I have read both several times.
-
Sure my point was they will have to use one of those methods otherwise problems will happen.
-
Perhaps it does kill them to eat a human. After all we have no proof humans are native to dayside. Maybe they just try and eat people because they can't tell the difference and because humans are deadly to them none survive to learn the lesson.

? They will be several bazillion(scientific term) miles from say Elantris. As I understand it that is bad for Elantris magics.

I thought it was Mistborn and Elantris books.

Makes sense. They will have to find a way out of the region locked nature of their magic systems though.

OK Worldhoppers this is it. Khriss finally got back to us with that Nalthis star chart. We picked up a cognitive anomaly. Anyone got an idea to what it could be? While I expect a large degree of rampant and occasionally ridiculous speculation try and keep things to the point where you don't just sound like you are trolling everyone(at least for a while). Also the Star chart itself can be found here.

This stuff is not to scale. It might not be much farther out then mars or vesta both of which can be seen. It also may have elliptical orbits that bring it into position occasionally. Maybe their inhabitants are not sapient, went extinct or are under a giant coppercloud. It is also possible that this is information Brandon does not want us to have at the moment. That cognitive anomaly needs its own page. I am on it! Got this here it is!

I think in today's world emotional alomancy is where its at especially if you seekers and copperclouds don't exist. Our world is largely about networking and social interaction after all. Beyond that being a tineye would probably be the best of all the alomantic traits. As to Ferochemy I would kill for some bronze.

I think that the outlook for our Rosharans is going to be pretty bleak if somthing can't be done with the everstorm. My personal Oathpact picks would actually be people who are more like Moash(obligatory f that guy!) or Taravangian.

As interesting as this is I don't think it relevant to the thread topic(great now I'm the wet blanket).

Did Hoid make the entries in arcanum unbounded?
Karger replied to Koloss17's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Her manservant is named Nazh and he he makes appearances on her behalf in SA as well as several other places(he is fun to spot). I believe both are now associated with silverlight and the 17th shard. -
I believe Brandon has implied that Hoid's methods are good enough that even most of his odd speech patterns and idioms are translated. Other methods still leave accents or tend to work less well for other reasons.

Could someone post on where to find the previews that are currently available?
