Could that make the mists an avatar of Vin?

Hoid's motivations are a pox upon us all. That being said there are ways around the geographic nature of selish magic systems that Hoid has/could get access to.

Shadows go backwards in the CR. We know this from Oathbringer.

No worries it has been moved. Also Welcome! I wonder if Stormlight stops glowing at lower temperatures.

Fabrail's are going to play a big role in SA4. With new weaponry in demand for fighting thunderclasts and fused I was wondering about cannon design. We know from the ars arcanum that you can make augmenter fabrails that enhance an attribute. We can also make the reverse diminisher fabrails that do the inverse. Thanks to Oathbringer we know that these two types of fabrail can actually be the same fabrail(Navani with the painrail at Theylan Field) with a dial that controls weather the attribute is increased or decreased. Then it hit me. What would happen if we captured a windspren and made it into an augmenter fabrial? Could we increase the pressure dramatically in an area? Like inside the barrel of a cannon? Then we plug the mouth of the cannon with the payload and reverse the fabrail from augmenter to diminisher and boom. Cannon successful! I took this step one step further after this. Another thread pointed out that a major problem that Roshar has is that maritime trade has to be reduced due to the constant threat of highstorms. I wondered what would happen if you used this technique of increasing pressure to duplicate Kaladin's use of adhesion in Oathbringer(he saves the newly enslaved humans right before he leaves to return to Urithiru) Could this highpressure system keep the massive waves and winds from smashing a ship? Stormlihgt would obviously not be a problem during a highstorm.

Is it possible for a metal to function in only one of the Three Metallic Arts
Karger replied to Quantus's question in Cosmere Q&A
He probably could in theory but it would not develop "naturally" Don't we all. I think he would get RAFOed by SR Brandon. -
You need the 9th heightening. We don't know anything else about it.

Oathbringer questions about inconsistency and rants
Karger replied to Long try's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is my interpretation. There is considerable debate on this topic. I hope we will learn the answer soon. Maybe get an Azish legal team on this?- 16 replies

Is it? What are you being protected from? Would that count being protected from yourself? What about emotional harm? Should your protect me clothing try and keep you from visiting your least favorite aunt on her birthday? You need enough breath and you need to be able to clearly visualize what you mean when you say the words. I personally think in the future someone will develop a mental discipline that makes awakening easier.

Why not just say. Learn combat and guide my will? Why not "Steal their investiture and grant me that which I desire"?

I think it would be much more obvious if Rock could change forms.

Christopher Polonini was not exactly using an original premise. The story of a young boy finding a dragon egg and deciding not to harm it are really conventional and as hundreds of years old as well. In fact Brandon specifically sights Yolen's Pit Dragon series as inspiration and that predates both. Also thematically they have nothing in common. Also don't double post.

Maybe some kind of lessor bond?

Oathbringer questions about inconsistency and rants
Karger replied to Long try's topic in Stormlight Archive
No. He is basically attaining a limited form of godhood. He can see into the spiritual realm and understand the fundamental truths of the universe. The platonic ideal of pure unrelenting hatred. 1. Odium did not want to kill him. He was trying to injure Dalinar spiritually and break his will. He might for example be giving him half second bursts to wear him down but let him recover just enough to stay on his feet. 2. Regardless even if you can see all the hatred and pain you have ever felt or caused Dalinar proves that if you are willing to learn from it you can grow from the experience and become a better person. 3. Time is a bit iffy here this is all taking place inside Dalinar's head.- 16 replies

I personally think that Horneaters are like Ryshadium and instead of having forms just have some kind of rosharan adaptation. Rock is for example stronger then any human should be and his brother did try and fight a man in shardplate...

Hoid. Apparently he has been using Cultivation's perpendicularity for so long that Horneater lore has picked up some stuff on him. Unless a spren was nearby and you were a parshendi... In his chapter in oathbringer he says he has "special gifts and blessings" which many of us take to mean that he has a higher concentration of singer blood then most of his people.

Invocation got most of them Depends where you are. In some places it is more carefully regulated then others. Actually most people could do this if only by trail and error in using low level breath commands and then returning the breath to themselves.
