  8. Glint moved towards the leaf, then tried to move it. Nothing. All he did was move on top of it. ========== “Oh, I know this!” Ben said happily, “You just need to-“ His phone started ringing. “Oh, sorry, just a sec.” He answered it.
  9. “That’s ok!” Glint said, not wanting to upset the only potential friend besides Ben he had had in, well, ever. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.”
  10. “Oh, I do like the leaf, but I am more interested in how you managed to move it. I can barely even show up in the physical realm, yet you are here strongly enough to move objects. It’s fascinating!”
  11. Glint inched a bit closer to the leaf, peering at it curiously. “How did you do that?” he asked, his curiosity overcoming his fear. ”Ok,” Ben said, “Wait, uh, do you have any paper or pencils?”
  12. Glint, terrified of the attention, remained completely still.
  13. *asks if borrowing ninjas from Bean is an option*
  14. “Err... I guess I could help? I mean.. I’m not that great a teacher, but it can’t hurt to try?” he smiled awkwardly. “Soooo... what do you need help on?” ”Smooth,” Glint whispered in his ear, completely sincere.
  15. Ben allowed himself to be led along, still confused as to why people would want to go swimming, but still content, as he was still able to read his book.
  16. “Ok, I will come then, I guess,” Ben said, rising. He forcibly kept his hands at his sides to avoid any more humiliating mistakes.
  17. “Do I need to get in the water?” he asked, setting his book down and attempting to adjust nonexistent glasses. He blushed, embarrassed at the mistake. Right. Contacts.
  18. Ben hesitantly waved back, then accepted a cookie. The attention made him feel a bit uncomfortable. People usually just ignored him. Glint came back over, tracing over the faint patterns in the floor boards. “I have come to a conclusion,” he whispered in Ben’s ear, “She must have drastically different brain chemistry than a regular human.” “And why is that?” Ben replied, attempting to hide his mirth behind his book. Glint tended to come to extremely drastic conclusions. ”No normal and sane person should enjoy that sort of stuff,” Glint replied, the satisfaction evident in his voice. The corners of Ben’s mouth tugged upwards. But, after a moment, they fell back downwards. Glint knew Ben well enough to know that something unpleasant was on his mind. “What is it?” he asked, his satisfaction disappearing. ”What if... it’s just me who is different? What if it’s everyone else who is sane?” Glint had no response to that.
  19. Ben peered at Shana over his book. How could she exercise like that and seem to enjoy it? Glint moved from his customary place on Ben’s shoulder to one of the kitchen counters, likely to investigate Shana and how she was able to do such a thing. He wasn’t very fond of explaining himself. That was fine though, as they were both very similar to each other and often could anticipate the other’s actions.
  20. Untruth. (Different enough.)
