  1. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

A tear dripped down his cheek, but he turned his head quickly to hide it. “Y…yeah, they have games. And you can call me that.

    Jenny didn’t notice the tear.

”Ed. Yeah, I do know you.”

She stepped a little closer to get a better look at his face. She realized that she recognized it. Jenny looked down at his hand holding hers.

”I don’t think we were just friends.”

  2. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

“It’s in New York, on Long Island.” He squeezed her hand back, smiling slightly.

Jenny smiled too. For some reason, being around Edgar made her feel really happy. It made her feel safer, too.

“Do they have games and stuff there?”

Before he could answer, she asked another question.

”Did I call you Ed at some point? Is it ok if I call you that?”

  3. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

    “What was that?”

He stepped a little closer so their shoulders were brushing. He was still trembling, though he made an obvious attempt to hide it.

Man, they were really close together. It felt familiar, though. Really familiar. She unconsciously squeezed his hand, growing slightly more corporeal. Were they really just friends?

    ”Where’s the camp?”

  4. 1 minute ago, Weaver of Lies said:

“We met at a…summer camp. And I’m glad you think I seem nice, I try to be.”

    “Cool! Whe-“

    She flickered.

    ”camp?”

Her calmness was starting to fade. She didn’t like being confused, apparently. Jenny was glad Edgar was here to help her sort things out. Dealing with this alone would be tough.

  5. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

    “I…we…used to…” he trailed off.

    “We’re friends.”

     What was happening?

“That’s great! You seem really nice.”

Jenny flickered again. Briefly, the serene expression on her face flashed to terror then back.

    ”How’d we meet?”

Perhaps she could trigger a memory based on some details of her past. Not knowing much about yourself wasn’t very fun.

  6. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

“I think it’s helping you stay here. Earlier, you disappeared for a moment, so I’m trying this. I can stop, if you want.”

His voice was calm, but his entire body trembled.

“No, it’s alright. I don’t like disappearing. How do we know each other?”

Edgar really did seem so familiar. She couldn’t recall knowing anyone before, though. She couldn’t remember anything about her past. Maybe she didn’t have a past. But Edgar said they knew each other, and he didn’t seem like a liar. Had she just forgotten?

  7. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

“I have…met you. You don’t seem to know me though. You’re Jenny. I’m Edgar.”

He didn’t let go of her hand.

    “Huh. Those are nice names.”

Jenny looked down and cocked her head.

”Why are you holding my hand?”

She didn’t try to pull her hand away. For some reason, letting go felt scary. Why was she here? Where was here? Who was she?

  8. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

Edgar didn’t speak, instead grabbing her hand and holding it tightly.

     Something was very wrong.

    She looked confused.

    ”Are you alright? I-“

She flickered again, her hand almost fading away from within the guy’s, but it was more like a blink than a disappearance. He seemed to help keep her anchored there.

    ”Oh, that’s not good.”

She then squinted to inspect the guy in front of her, apparently having forgotten her worry immediately.

“You look familiar. Have we met?”

  9. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

    “You…you don’t know me?”

Could I…restart everything? Not get her hurt now?

    “My name is Edgar.”

    “Nice to meet you, Edgar!”

She flickered out of view, disappearing for a few seconds. When she returned, she noticed that there was a person. She liked people. Introducing yourself was always a good first step when you met someone new.

”Hello! I’m… huh. I don’t know my name.”

She looked mildly puzzled for a moment.

”Ah, well, I suppose it doesn’t matter. What’s your name?”

She stuck her hand out for a handshake, smiling brightly.

  10. Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

Edgar was in a small house, sitting on a bed, face streaked with tears. He was shaking uncontrollably, and his neck was slightly red.

    ”J…J…Jenny?” he sputtered.

A person. She liked people. Introducing yourself was always a good first step when you met someone new.

”Hello! I’m... huh. I don’t know my name.”

She looked mildly puzzled for a moment.

“You said Jenny? That must be me! I like that name. What’s your name?”

She stuck her hand out for a handshake, smiling brightly. She didn’t seem to notice anything beyond the fact that a person was there.

  11. 22 minutes ago, Weaver of Lies said:

Jenny was faint. Why was she faint? And why was everything so dark? Where was she? She wasn’t sure if she was in pain or not. There wasn’t enough of her left for that.

Maybe she was asleep. Sometimes her dreams were weird. They hadn’t been like this before. But this was still so familiar, somehow. There was a familiar presence, too. Odd. It seemed scary. Terrifying, actually. She couldn’t see it, but she knew that it was bad.

She needed to run. She needed to get away, go somewhere else. Reaching out, she could faintly feel something familiar. It felt safe. She shattered the ground beneath her and fell into the other place.

Jenny landed in Ed’s dream. She looked transparent, like a ghost.

  12. 54 minutes ago, Weaver of Lies said:

Edgar wasn’t moving. Blood was seeping through the bandages again, the wounds having reopened from his movement.

    Is he unconscious?

45 minutes ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

Terrance turned to her. "Jenny? What is it?"

Terrance wasn't sure he could do anything about that.

Jenny heard talking. She couldn’t understand it, but it probably didn’t matter. It wasn’t like she could do anything about whatever people were saying.

    ”Don’t wake.”

She mustered up every last scrap of power she had left, and magically put herself to sleep. She would be stronger in her dreams, if this stunt didn’t destroy her.

  13. 24 minutes ago, Weaver of Lies said:

Edgar collapsed to the ground, his breathing growing shallow.

    @Lunamor

Jenny fought to keep from drifting away. The voice was returning, and it was angry. Big. Taking up so much space. She felt so, so small. So alone. She managed to get a single word out.

    ”Please.”

She wasn’t sure who that was directed at.

  14. 1 minute ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

"It's not her. Not entirely. At first I thought it was me affecting her like I do with a lot of people, but she's not acting herself. I'm surprised you of all people didn't notice."

Kronos has been focusing on Jenny for years because she’s a Hades kid, so he’d stay with her.

  15. 1 minute ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

Terrance met her eyes again, trying to settle down whatever was happening by disrupting her emotions.

Just now, Weaver of Lies said:

“I don’t care! Don’t you dare hurt her!”

Her shadows flared, then disappeared. Both of the entities fighting in Jenny’s head retreated from the terror once more. She went slack again, her chant trailing off. A few tears leaked from the corners of her eyes from the lingering presence of the one who had more experience with these feelings.

  16. 1 minute ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

    "Jenny, what is happening?"

    “Cat, cat, cat…”

Her expression suddenly shifted to one of outrage, then to fear, then back. It continued to cycle between the two as she erratically tensed up. Shadows flickered around her like a fire in the wind.

  17. 1 minute ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

    Terrance's frown deepened.

    "Something is very wrong..."

Jenny started speaking softly in a singsong voice, her eyes unfocused and staring at nothing.

    ”Cat, cat, cat…”

She’d recovered slightly faster than the voice had, although recovered was a bit of a strong word.

  18. 1 minute ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

"Do you want to talk about it?" Terrance angled himself to make eye contact with her, something he normally avoided.

The voiced shied away almost entirely, unused to the feeling of terror, but Jenny was thrown off too. She was far from stable, so the onslaught of emotion was too much for her and her ability to think was dispersed. With no one piloting the body, Jenny collapsed, every muscle going slack.

I’m gonna say the magic fear is dampened because of the numbing flowers but not completely negated.

  19. 2 minutes ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

"I don't know... How are you feeling?"

    Quote

    Yep.

    “I’m not great.”

Jenny gestured vaguely in the direction of Edgar. Did they all not realize how badly the breakup would impact her? How much she had cared for that boy? Normally that wouldn’t have mattered, but it was rather inconvenient timing for that.

3 minutes ago, Scars of Hathsin said:

Aarons flowers drew closer to Jenny, releasing a perfume that was supposed to stop emotions, and make someone numbish. His twig also kept growing, being infused with a deep green light, that permeated it, and forced it to grow around him in a big ball.

Jenny felt the voice lose a small amount of control. She wiggled her fingers. It didn’t notice. She could be more bold in her actions. Jenny spoke her next words quickly, filling up what would be the natural pause someone makes after speaking.

    ”I’m really, really tired, too.”

  20. 1 minute ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

Terrance drew closer, seeming perhaps more suspicious of her than usual.

Noticing an incoming potential interaction out of the corner of her eye, Jenny reluctantly relinquished her small amount of control. She looked at Terrance, avoiding eye contact.

    ”Do you need something?”

The real Jenny couldn’t let herself forget her best chance at forcing the voice out, so she decided to make it her new chant.

    Sleep, sleep, sleep…

“Well now, I said we were allowed to use the abilities at our disposal as long as we don’t break the explicit rules of the game.” Asylum said, attempting to calm the crowd. They scanned their eyes over the crowd, looking for familiar faces, ally’s, when their eyes landed on a girl holding a Koloss plushie. I know you might be mad at me but please just this one time Eza.

“You there.” Asylum said. “The girl hiding her face with her plushy” they gave a small wink towards Eza in a desperate get the hint, “What do you think we should play?”

    @Lunamor @TheFrugalWizard

Rust. Lum had seen her. What’s more, they’d called her out in front of a massive crowd of people. This was precisely why she’d decided to leave. Taking the hint, she held the plushie up so that it was obscuring her face. The toy didn’t block her expression completely, as it looked roughly about as angry as Eza did.

    ”Oh, gee…”

She raised her voice’s pitch by a few octaves. Combined with her small stature, this made her convincingly pass as a younger child.

”I think darts are really cool! It’s super fun to pop balloons with them.”

She giggled excitedly to further sell the illusion. Eza also burned iron, taking note of the blue lines leading to the decorative buttons on the glowing guy’s shirt.

  22. 4 minutes ago, The Aspiring Archivist said:

Terrance still seemed to be watching her specifically.

A while back Kronos was in Jenny’s head as a mysterious voice (for mystery backstory reasons), but she doesn’t know that it’s him. Roy suspects that the voice was him. I originally planned for her to get possessed a fair bit later in the story due to an inevitable event that would likely impact her enough to let Kronos possess her, but I didn’t anticipate Edgar breaking up with her. She’s got some very unhealthy attachment issues so it weakened her mental state enough for Kronos to take control.

Aaron watches her reaction. Interesting, maybe there are ghosts. He shrugs, and sends some other choice flowers to try and dull her emotions. Making the gesture a few other times, just to be sure that he does not get posessed.

He also grabs one of the twigs from nearby. "I will only be able to hold on for so long with the ball, so if I faint please do not leave me" he whines. Trying to get back to his usual attitude and not act too nice. He starts the process.

Jenny watched, her expression unreadable. It was fortunate they seemed to have given up on figuring out what was wrong with her. She pointedly didn’t focus her attention on anything in particular.

The brightening thing had happened a few more times. She could see again. Think again. She looked over at Ed, trying to see how he was doing. Anything more than that would likely cause her to lose all control again.

"edgar has this weird sence of duty. has had it for a long old time now. its gotten much worse ever since Kylee died. he still blames himself for that. i know roy blames edgar a lot for that."

Jenny nodded silently. Continuing this conversation would be difficult, so hopefully it would end soon.

Aaron watches as Jace tries to heal Jenny, and aaron diverts even more flowers from the window to the pair, using some healing ones. Jenny seems posessed almost he thinks to himself. Just to be sure he makes the warding off evil sign to Jenny. I hope ghosts are not real.

I’m not sure what that is but it sounds helpful :P

    Cat. Cat. Cat. Cat…

The darkness around her brightened slightly. Something was helping her. It didn’t do very much, but it gave her a bit more strength. She couldn’t see, but she could feel that her body’s pain was lessening. Someone was healing her.

    ”Please heal Ed too.”

The will of the voice limited her actions, but she could still do some minor things. She just needed to be indirect.

”I’m tired. I need to sleep.”

    Now she just had to-

    Quit that.

    Everything darkened again.

    …caaaaaat…
