  1. When the kick did land, it gashed his skull in. There was no doubt anymore as to whether or not he was dead. Truthless's funeral happened in the heart of the Ghanderflaffle Empire.
  2. Sophie groaned and summoned a brick wall to bang her head against.

*sigh* I'm sorry. I couldn't draw Ember, she was WAY harder than I can realistically do and if I had continued to try, it wouldn't have been near as good as what I was hoping for. So you're stuck with Star. I'm okay with this one. It's not as good as the Xino one, but it's okay. I'll probably do Heather next. Sophie is cartoonish by nature, Pheo's eyes are super weird and he doesn't have as defined features as the other characters, so... Yeah. *shrug*
  4. Star smiled. "Oh, good! Ember, you're the only other Narrator on Heather's side, do you mind helping, um, heal her?" Ember relaxed a little bit. "Heal her?" she asked. "From... what?" "Uhh..." Star cleared her throat. "Just... clear her head, okay? Please?" Ember swallowed, unsure of herself. She knew she wasn't good at Narrating. But for Star, she'd do anything. "Alright," she said. "... Alright." She paused. "How?" Star's face fell. "Oh. Well... You just say what you want to happen and put power into the words and it just... works. You can do that, right, Ember?" Ember nodded stiffly. "I think so... Yes. I think so..." Heather's mind was cleared...? Ember Narrated uncertainly. She flinched. She was so bad at this. Star wouldn't like her, she was bad... Star sighed. "All right, that should be good. I think. Thank you." She smiled. Well, that was awkward, she thought. Storm it, I wish I could help her myself...
  5. Ember followed obediently. As she sent her mental presence pulsing around her, she realized that they were getting closer to Heather. She bit her lip, growing more nervous.
  6. Ember cocked her head. "Oh," she said. She stood up to her full height, shoulders back in perfect posture, wondering why Star needed her. She picked at her charcoal fingernails apprehensively.
  7. Ember looked up. She was still kneeling on the ground before the mirror, hands clasped in her lap. She blinked in surprise at Pheonix, unsure of what to say or do. She studied him with her eyes, trying to gauge his reason for coming. Was she in trouble? She hoped she wasn't in trouble...
  8. Sophie sniffed, letting the forcefield down, cursing herself in her head. She stood up and wiped her eyes pitifully. "Wh-where do we go?"
  9. It's his lenses. Remove those, and you probably wouldn't have thought of it. Besides, he's supposed to look kinda like Harry. Why else would their be so many jabs at that series? (that was honestly some of my favorite stuff ever)
  10. Well... you could argue that it was Xino’s fault for not letting Star save Marsh through Narration. You really rubbed her character-fusing-induced divorce in her face though and that was pretty... scarring.
  11. It’d be extremely hard to jump into anyway, so that’s probably the right call
  12. It stands for The Cosmic Battle to Save the Thread. You can find us in the RP section. It has a pretty winding plot and it actually started way back in March on TLT when I let Narrator Star start interacting with the characters. Let’s just say she’s had a very hard life ever since. Ask anyone else from CBST and they’ll confirm that’s an understatement. It’s escalated a LOT in the past few months. I do have a summary of everything that’s happened, but if you know nothing about it, it takes many, many hours to read through.
  13. Hi, everyone! I'm debating whether to do Star or Ember today for the realistic portraits series. Preferences?

So, I started Ember on Wednesday... and guys, there is no way I will finish her. Here's why:

      1. If I actually continued this, there is way too much minute detail on her face - texturing, the cracks in her skin - for me to be able to achieve the same amount of realism I did with Xino.
      2. Her hair is made of metal and will require doing a heck-ton of reflections. I'm getting better at those... but it's too much
      3. I'm not actually sure how to make the light coming from the cracks in her skin look realistic.
      4. I worked hard to make her eyes symmetrical and beautiful... but they were too big. I'm discouraged and I don't want to try and re-draw this.
      5. This is the biggest reason of all - she requires so much shading. Seriously, you have no idea. By the time I finished, my hands would be covered in graphite and I would have to redo a bunch of it because my hands smudged it while I was drawing. I really don't want to deal with that.

So, I'll work on Star this weekend for you guys.

  14. Later, Bastille joined a comedy group called Studio C.
  15. Sophie whimpered, trying desperately to curtail her crying. "I wanna help him, I do," she said, her form shaking, "but what can I do? I... I... don't wanna die!" She almost started crying again, then caught herself. "I'll... I'll help..." She finally decided. "I'll help..."
  16. Why does everyone think it's a butterfly? It's a shattered mirror and it represents what's happened to Tamika.

Dear Xinoehp, This is my way of saying sorry for not drawing you enough times, especially compared to the rest of the CBST cast. Which is especially sad, considering that you're almost as old as Star is. You are truly a wonderful addition to our story and you deserve a fancy-shmancy portrait like this. Sorry again! - The Violet Goddess P.S. This is also a way for me to show off. I've gotten a lot better at faces and this just turned out so well. Anyway, tell me if you guys want to see more of these realistic looking stuff. This took me about two hours so it'll take a little longer than normal, but it's really fun and if ya like it, then I'm happy to keep pumpin' em out.
  18. Well, Xino's adorable too. We need more of him.
  19. Phar is adorable? I wrote nothing about Pheo - this is Xino. Shards, I know they're brothers, but they shouldn't be that hard to mix up - they look quite different.
  20. From the album: The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

This small little scene from page 625 of TLT is very simple, but also one of my favorites. For some reason, I've always loved the idea of carrying someone. The idea that someone is so weak that they can't do one of the first things they ever learned and are forced to rely on someone else to take them place to place. It's such a selfless act, such a beautiful one. Xino is prideful and power-hungry, yes, but he's also very kind-hearted and loyal when it comes down to it. Perhaps he's still trying to make up for having a hand in Marsh's eventual death, the same way Star is trying to make up for her villainy. What a nice parallel between our first two characters on CBST. I haven't drawn Xino as much because I don't have a good handle on his wardrobe and I didn't know what his face looked like for a really long time. So I think it's about time I start rectifying that.
  21. "Two," Sierra muttered. She was beginning to grow annoyed. What did any of this accomplish?
  22. "Two!" Sierra said, hoping if she answered quicker the static would cease. @Snipexe @ZincAboutIt
  23. Sierra grimaced at the high pitched crackling and craned her neck as if to move away from it. "One," she barked. @Snipexe
