  1. Here's a quote from State of Sanderson 2018 that might have some impact on who is getting what in the next book and the speculation going on in here. (Cause to me it sounds a lot like near-confirmation we'll be getting Szeth Flashbacks in Book 4) "As I’ve worked on the Stormlight series, I’ve shifted a lot of things around in the outlines. Famously, I swapped Dalinar’s book and Szeth’s book (making Book Three have Dalinar’s flashbacks instead of Szeth’s). " :)
  2. I don't see a full-fledged Aimia happening specifically because (IMHO) it's the most mystery-laden place we've got. Maybe not even in this 5 book arc beyond the snippet(s) we've had. I would, of course, love to be wrong. There is definitely something about that place that's going to change some rules of the game.
  3. I have a hunch Jasnah prefers the company of women over men. (Or will go that route along the way.) Insofar as Kaladin is concerned I don't have any guesses until I see what happens with Tarah. But Tarah is the linchpin. Either together (I doubt it) or something he has to work past and still hasn't. I suppose you could say Tarah is my guess, just not sure they'll wind up together though.
  4. We also saw Shadesmar in it's full which was a nice fantastical detour. I absolutely agree with Sesemalex Dar and Ishar. Couple ideas off the top of my head: Shinovar: Now that Szeth is in the fold (so to speak) I can see the Shin coming to the fore. Urithiru (and it's surrounding environs): Exploration isn't done in there. Horneater Peaks: I'm wishy-washy on this one as I'm sure we'll see and it obviously has great importance but Book 4 might be too soon. Or not...
  5. Pretty simple question with potentially more than one answer. Presented as is I think the first logical conclusion is, "unite humans against the voidbringers". Now we know Roshar isn't quite the human-centric world, united could be Parshendi and Human. ...Or is the scale bigger? Unite the 16? (well, 13 or 14 and some splinters I guess...) Dalinadonalsium? Kinda catchy really. Rolls off the tongue... Your take?
  6. Cultivation dealing with another Nightwatcher bug... *** You take the place of the Nightwatcher. (Note above "percussive maintenance" schedule has been upped...) You retain your identity, literally... in the form of a Tamagotchi pet you have to constantly keep an eye on. *** My boon? I would like to treat Cultivation to a night out on the town. Nice meal, dancing, maybe a spren-theatre-movie (however that'll work o.O ) Up to her if we remember it the next day...
  7. I've felt like Dalinar has had an axe over his head since the beginning of the series. I don't see him lasting to the end. He's, so far, my favourite character. I am however holding out secret hope that he will ascend instead of dying. Either way I see him getting "written out" of major players by the end of the first 5 book arc. Dunno about Navani. Actually just going off gut-instinct I'd say she doesn't. She has a tie in with fabrial technology and I see that technology progressing as the books do. Brandon understands that, unlike say Steven Erikson's Malazan books, it's a tough sell for an iron-age to last 100,000 years... In that vein of thought, I see fabrial techology having a huge impact. Navani seems to be leading the charge on that forefront. I could see her sticking around to keep that end of things moving. Pure conjecture though. Does Shallan's burgeoning multiple personalities disorder count? Cause I can see/hope for, them dying off. =/ (I dun like her much.) I don't see her or Kaladin dying off however. Szeth. Maybe... a peaceful end to his tortured arc would be a satisfactory conclusion. Lift butt-sliding off a cliff to her death for a twinkie seems likely. (...) Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor (And yes I just typed that out from memory lol) is definitely not on the dying list. Just nope. *shakes head* Nope. Teft. Yeah... Sigzid, nope. He has a whole new world to start singing about shortly. Be hilarious if Taravangian didn't die. Here's another, you think Moash will die or get redeemed? After his most recent exploits I'm aiming at "dead" but redemption is a pretty potent (and starting to be prolific) "out" for BS villainy.
  8. For my part Jezrien. Elhokar has been an expected death from me for a while. Like an expected punch in the side. Unfortunate but also anticipated. Sort of a, “let’s get this over with” mentality. Jezrien on the other hand was a bit more of a surprise. That sucker was both unexpected and full of ramification. Eshonai. Well... I’m not sure we’ve seen the last of her and I don’t mean just flashbacks so I’m not sure she counts. Not too stuck on her either so. /shrug Graves... ehhh.
  9. Heyas thanks for the welcome. The question is sort of open-ended in regards not to the knife but Gavilars shardblade and the fact(fact?) that his summoning happened within ten heartbeats meaning the blade cannot be a dead spren what with the requisite ten heartbeat summon. Just looking for feedback on what it could be. What gavilar would’ve bonded. Or if anyone disagrees and has ideas of their own on the same lines. It also possibly puts a hole through the gavilar-bonding stormfather theory I’ve seen discussed around.
  10. Hey all! Quick question for you on something in Oathbringer. In the chapter, "The Subtle Art of Diplomacy" Dalinar saves Gavilar from a would-be assassin after spotting him carrying a knife suitable for a pork-steak. (And possibly after flipping the finger to an Unmade. >.< ) In that chapter, he kicks Gavilar's chair out from him to save him, then turns and dispatches the assassin. The poignant part and crux of the question is this... IMHO the time it takes Dalinar to subdue the assassin is significantly less than ten heartbeats. So firstly, would you agree after reading that? Secondly, if that's the case, then a likely answer is that he is bonded (relatively-)normally to a spren to gain access to a "live" Shardblade capable of instant-summoning. That however, leads me to believe he was not bonded or becoming bonded to the Stormfather. Stormfather seems, er, "reluctant" to assume a bladeform. Thoughts?
  11. Hey all! Been lurking a bit looking up various crazypants conspiracy theories I have and decided to step into the stormlight and introduce myself since I'm clearly not the only one with crazypants here! (Yay >.< ) Started reading Mistborn way back when and been hooked to the Cosmere since. It's only (relatively) recently that I've started really absorbing all there is to offer in terms of foreshadow and mystery. I am absolutely loving it. I am currently rereading Oathbringer and starting to try and put down some questions and theories I have. I recently read Elantris for the first time, took me a while to get back to the beginning oddly, and reread Warbreaker. Naturally after reading those books I simply had to reread Oathbringer in a totally new light. Anyways, off to start some topics Stormlight/Cosmere related. Cheers.
