  1. I personally think a Dark One Prose is more likely, since that's what Dan and Brandon have currently been working on, and it already has a working blueprint in the form of the graphic novel. Add to that the fact that the darker themes are certainly within Dan's wheelhouse, and they could probably line up the release of the prose versions with the release of the graphic novels (say that the prose versions come out a year after the graphic novel version does), and you've got a working plan. THAT BEING SAID, I would love for it to be The Apocalypse Guard, and I think that Brandon releasing a YA book the year that Skyward won't have one is a smart choice. (And then they can make it a trilogy, with Book 2 in 2024 and Book 3 in 2025; and then we get a new Mistborn book either in late 2025 or early 2026.) An announcement for this may also tie into the Deathrise Steven Bohls novellas, which are done and are being/have been recorded, but have no release window. So announcing that "hey, here's some sequel novellas to the Reckoners, and the first full book in the sequel series is coming next year!" may be a pretty cool announcement. THAT BEING SAID, I can see the same thing happening with Dark One. Sure, it wouldn't be as cool, but an official announcement of Dark One Volume 2 and a prose version of Dark One would be pretty dope. Heck, add in an update to the show that supposed to happen, and then you do have something that would be as cool!
  2. When you start planning out taglines and posters for movie and show adaptations.
  3. Two men who worked to kill kings and had men they viewed as brothers become icons with spear-based symbolism? I could totally see it. Moash at the end of the day what the difference is between them, and Marsh talking about darkness and light (or something like that), and how both do different things in art and nature, would be awesome.
  4. I had a side tangent where Trell was actually a Scadrian-abbreviated form of another phrase, like Tu-Ra-El or something more fitting with an Unmade name (like a reverse of what Shallan does when she names the planets to Mraize), but I think Trell is just fine lol!
  5. Just a random thought while listening to Shardcast's latest episode, but what if Trell is El? I have literally no proof, and this could possibly - probably easily - be disproven, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
  6. The Ghostblood's mission of economic power is really underwhelming. I mean, it makes sense, and I don't disagree with it, but it's just one of those cases where the answer could never be as cool as the mystery.
  7. Last minute guess - I was listening to The Sandersonian Institute of Cosmere Studies, and the guest for this week was Kara Stewart. Kara mentioned that Dragonsteel has a new garage/storage place for books. The reveal may just the official unveiling of that place, and a new setup for Brandon when it comes to signing and live Q&As.
  8. I like the title! It's not entirely special, but it keeps the theme of Sanderson's YA books having snappy titles, and it keeps the /s/ sound for the series (even if Book 4 is set to ruin that with Defiant). I also like both the American and U.K. covers this time around. Starsight's U.S. cover...wasn't as cool as Skyward's IMO. This one strikes a nice balance between the two. And while the U.K. covers were cool, they never really did it for me. This one definitely does. In terms of the blurb not really revealing anything, I'm more amused at this point than annoyed, or even surprised. Starsight's blurb was just as vague, if not more so. To me this is starting to mean that "the plot isn't something that can be seen in pre-release chapters," and I'm fine with that.
  9. Amazon.com: Cytonic (The Skyward Series Book 3) eBook: Sanderson, Brandon: Kindle Store Amazon Blurb as well
  10. That was the latest, but there have been streams before where he's been working on stuff specifically for the channel. I think the announcement has been related to that. As you say, the videogame stuff has been mentioned as well, but I think that's a third thing that won't be ready to announce for a LONG while.
  11. Wednesday is probably a Skyward 3 reveal. Thursday: My Hopes - Something to do with Soulburner/Starburner, The Apocalypse Guard, or Dark One My Expectations - Steven Bohls' Reckoners/Deathrise novellas announcement. Wildcards - Alcatraz show/cartoon, Reckoners animated show, non-Cosmere videogame in the works. (Aka something he's mentioned but has flown under the radar.) Longshots - Mistborn movie or tv show deal with a 2023 release.* Bonus, Tinfoil Guess - The Way of Kings Prime is being made into a television show. EDIT - EXTRA NOTES: Brandon has been talking about not being able to do live Q&As every Thursday because of something he has been setting up/planning. It was after he mentioned this that he also added that he wanted to keep the live events once a month to preserve the "special" feeling of them. But whatever he's been working on during those Thursdays may be related to his upcoming announcement. *2023 allows the script and cast enough time to come together, the movie wouldn't have to heavily compete with any Marvel movies, and cross-promotion would be incredibly easy. (Between Skyward 4, a movie-related rerelease of TFE, and Stormlight 5, Sanderson would dominate sci-fi/fantasy sales for the year. Add in potential cross-pollination if WoT does well, and you've got a recipe for Sanderson becoming a household name.)
  12. I've listened to a LOT of music already this year, so instead of listing it all, I'll do place what my Top Music of 2021 is looking like right now. Best Sanderson Inspired Song: “Mistborn Rap” by Rustage Best New Discovered Artists: Abir Against the Current Atarashii Gakkou!! Tye Tribbett (possibly Intervals) (possibly NF - I'd heard his music before, but his new album made me sit down and actually want to know who this artist was) Most Listened To Songs: “Amen” by Desiigner “Giovanni” by Band-Maid (You’ll appreciate it even more if you can find an instrumental version.) Best Songs: “One Last Kiss” by Utada Hikaru “Black Hole” and "About Us" by Band-Maid “Lockdown” by Koffee “Inferno” by Abir “Lost” and “Story” by NF “Follow the Signs” by Laura Brehm & Draper Best Albums: Unseen World by Band-Maid CLOUDS (THE MIXTAPE) by NF Best Music Video: “Finest Hour” by Cash Cash & Abir Best Throwbacks “Explosive” by Bond* “You & Me” by Disclosure Song I want to sing most in choir: “We Gon’ Be Alright” by Tye Tribbett Best Covers: “One Last Kiss” by Amalee “Simple & Clean” by Yvette Young Best Leitmotifs: “At the Speed of Force” by Junkie XL “Cyborg Becoming/All Too Human” by Junkie XL Most Chill Songs: “Double Bed” by Seiho “Lovers In The Night” by Seori Song I want to sing most in Karaoke: “Trust” by NF Runner Ups “P2” by Lil Uzi Vert *Explosive is a throwback simply because I didn’t find out the name of the song until this year.
  13. Have y'all ever tried making French Toast with pancake batter? Or using a waffle-maker to cook the French Toast? Game changers, I tell you. (Also, add a little brandy BUT NOT TOO MUCH to the batter, and you'll have a great time.)

  15. I think we'll get it around October or November. Sanderson has talked about how he wants the novellas to be a lead-up to Skyward 3, so I imagine he'll stick to that idea with as many of the novellas as possible. There's a chance we'll get the Deathrise novellas by Steven Bohls before then, since those are already finished and are being recorded (as of April 22, 2021 anyways). But right now there's no official release or confirmation. (Now watch Brandon prove me wrong with everything...)
  16. Playing Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones again. I feel like I try to play this every year but get stuck in my own head and burn out and stop play. I've been limiting how much I play more cautiously this time around and it's let me get farther than I have previously. As it stands, while Sacred Stones may never retake it's spot as my favorite FE game, it's currently regained some of its status and is at Spot 3. (Of the FE games I've played, my top 5 are: Awakening, Three Houses, Sacred Stones, FE 7, and Path of Radiance.) I'm currently on Chapter 15 of Ephraim's path, and it's far too much fun MVPs so far are: Artur, Lute, Ross, and Tana Standard Excellent Performers are: Ephraim, Seth, Cormag (I forgot how great he can be), Surprisingly good units this run: Kyle (I need to use him more), Amelia (maybe, I haven't given her a chance to actually fight on a map yet, but her growths have been actually really impressive for a Knight), Neimi (by sheer virtue of me not using archers in GBA games much despite how much I like the characters) and Colm Units that have caused me trouble but I like anyways and am using: Vanessa (she's gained one strength point since recruiting her. ONE. I like her because I like Pegasus Knights and I ship her and Innes, but my Lord is she bad! Even Tana has had better stat growths than her - Tana even maxed out her speed by level 15 no less! Vanessa hasn't even done THAT yet!); Joshua (this was the most surprising one. Joshua has been getting pelted by low accuracy (a 7%, an 8%, and a few 13-15%) attacks even when he has the weapon triangle advantage far too often to be considered an MVP or even standard on this playthrough) Franz (Franz isn't bad, but he's not good either.) Ewan (Look, I know he's bad. But my nostalgia prevented me from seeing that until I tried to use him and his level ups were abysmal. Am I going to use him once I get access to Dark Magic anyways? Absolutely! Summoners are tied for my favorite class in the franchise with Druids, Swordmasters, Malig Knights, and Dread Fighters). I'm not going to pass one up.)
  17. When you get excited about the prospect of YouTubers who are only tangentially related to Sanderson's content at best somehow discovering it and talking about it.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNyLzc3MU_E Loki is releasing on WEDNESDAY, staring Wednesday June 9th!
  19. Marvel released a new movie theater trailer spot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdpxoFcdORI The second half has new clips from Black Widow and Shang-Chi along with our first sneak peak footage at the Eternals (it looks great!) Black Panther 2 is now Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Captain Marvel 2 is now The Marvels Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantamania gets its 2023 release date confirmed.
  20. Considering that the first Skyward novella is in the final draft, I think you can get excited!
  21. It looks like all three audio novellas are in and are being recorded! https://wob.coppermind.net/events/466-cosmerees-interview/#14705
  22. MHA: Dabi x Mirko - No idea why. I just think it'd be an interesting ship. (Although Mirko x Burnin' is far more popular, and I understand why.) Fire Emblem: Seth x Marisa - I usually prefer Ephraim x Marisa, but I'm too much of a fan of Ephraim x Tana and don't want to give it up. Seth needs more romantic supports, and Marisa could use one more as well. They'd have a fun banter I imagine. Either Hector x Ursula or Hector x Selena (Sacred Stones) - The former is way too fun to not imagine, but Ursula isn't a good person, and I can't see the two having anything but a hate-hookup relationship at best. Hector x Selena would be similar to any of the Fates Trio relationships (in Fates), or like Zeke and Tatiana - Selena would be found close to dead somewhere along the journey and Hector and co would help her back to health. She'd end up staying in Elibe in order to repay (what she feels is) her debt, but would end up deciding to stay after realizing that there is nothing left for her in Grado. Eventually, she'd marry Hector and the two would welcome Lilina into the world. Comedy shows: The hijinks Phil from Modern Family and Jake from Brooklyn Nine-Nine would get up to would be hilarious. I'd add in Andy from Parks & Rec, but whatever plan they'd concoct would be ruined. And while Jake and Claire would be a very powerful Halloween duo, I'm actually more afraid of Amy and Claire. Dre from Black-ish would also have an interesting time talking with Captain Holt, Ron Swanson, and Jay Dunphy. Dre would certainly be the most childish outwardly, but I think all four would bond over their crazy families and/or workplaces...which are also their families. It's like the sitcom version of my "Fantasy General Dads meet and talk" idea. Superhero Stuff: I'd love to see a combined universe where Batman, Arrow's Oliver Queen, and Shang-Chi all fight the Ten Rings-League of Shadows/Assassins combination. It'd be so cool! And seeing Zack Snyder's Justice League deal with The Seven from The Boys would be such a fun (and one-sided) match up. Although in my head it's more like - The JL (plus the Kents from Superman & Lois) are transported to The Boys' world. The heroes use some tech to make a startup company (which they all "work" at) and continue their superheroics. At first they're seen as poor knockoffs of The Seven, until they start doing the work without needed the press. That would intrigue people, and soon all the talk would be about this "Justice League." Eventually Queen Mauve would be sent as a sort of ambassador/mole, but she'd find herself drawn to their ideals and drive. (She'd also probably fall in love with Diana. Diana, while flattered, wouldn't necessarily return the feelings.) Eventually a fight would ensue, and The Seven would be defeated. There's also a version of this where David and Megan from the Reckoners trilogy join The Boys, but I'm not sure how to work with that yet.
  23. There are updates to Isaac Stewart's Kickstarter as well. Monsters Don't Wear Underpants has arrived and they expect to start shipping in the first two weeks of May.
  24. Power Broker, from what I know, is something of a "Neutral Evil" villain. They sell Super Soldier Serum, Mutant Growth Hormone, and other drugs and whatnot in exchange for money (and percentages on their Superhero earnings) and power. Here I imagine they'll go full-on "evil puppet master in the background." I heard a cool theory that the Power Broker would more or less be the person behind the Armor Wars series. Armor Wars is an old Iron Man storyline where Tony's old suits and tech are stolen and given to various organizations and criminals, and Tony has to hunt the pieces down one by one. I know the MCU is filming an adaptation of that starring Don Cheadle's Rhodey aka War Machine, and it's coming out sometime next year. It's easy to imagine that the Power Broker could find such tech in their new position and use sell it to the highest bidder. In terms of Blu-Ray vs streaming...yes? I don't mind streaming in general, but I like Blu-Rays and DVDs for collection's sake. Streaming services don't keep things forever, and not all of them are worth investing in, so having a hard copy is a great way to watch what you want at any time (there's a Blu-Ray player around).
